Autumn is next week! And what better way to mark the changing seasons than with master macabre illustrator Edward Gorey? According to Flavorwire, Gorey oversaw paperback cover designs as an art editor for Anchor Books in the 1950s. Here’s a sampling of his work, but there’s lots more to look at over on flickr.
The Stand - Stephen King. Doubleday First Edition.
Early Doubleday Stephen King books where printed on poor quality papers and tend to discolour. The edges of the pages as per the photo are uneven and not cleanly cut. This book looks every year its age but something about it is quite special.
