dont even talk to me about this scene

honestly lately i’ve been wondering if i really liked season 1 as much as i did–season 2 has just been so bad overall, with a few shining moments but overrall: tedious

and then we had that scene, with cat and kara.

(and yes i’m still dying at “it just feels like this pain isn’t going to go away” “well, that’s what i said about childbirth” i’ve found a quip that beats should i call your mother a car? no, she can take her broom)

talking about emotions, talking about how kara has been feeling, how one of the reasons she started dating mon-el was because everyone in her life was in a relationship and she wanted that, for the first time all fucking season we got to hear kara, the protagonist’s view, on her relationship and why she was ever in one when she never seemed to like her boyfriend in the first place

and making a very profound moment, about emotion, about vulnerability, going into depth why this can be a strength, with something that isn’t just a cheesy line–this was something that i had to think about after hearing. and the entire time it was about kara, about dealing with pain and loss and for once this season something that i would want young girls to consider, to think about, great advice for anyone getting out of a relationship, especially with someone they maybe dont even really like, but just don’t want to be single, and all delivered so very well by the brilliant calista flockhart

this scene was all about kara. and so very little this season has been about the titular character. sure, cat talked about her own life–but that was to give kara context for what she was experiencing, to know that she wasn’t alone–the exact opposite of the isolation they’ve had kara go through the majority this season, with only monel to turn to even if she didnt really want to.

this scene reminded me of why i would stay awake until 3 am last semester abroad in ireland to watch this show, why i loved it in the first place–all with only a day and a half of filming from calista.

tl;dr calista your husband is a pilot please have him fly to you to filming every other week for a day trip or two we love you and miss you and melissa probably misses you more she got to be a protagonist again for the first time in ages

BEAUTY AND THE BEAST SPOILERS

BUT OKAY IF YOUVE SEEN IT DO ANY OF YOU REMEMBER HOW WHEN THE ENCHANTRESS PUTS THE SPELL ON THE CASTLE AND EVERYONE IN IT, SHE SAYS THAT EVERYONE WOULD FORGET THEY EXISTED?!?!?!

WELL IN THE “BELLE” SCENE, BELLE GOES UP TO MR. POTTS (WHO WE DONT EVEN KNOW IS MR. POTTS), ASKING HIM IF HE’S LOST SOMETHING AGAIN.

AND HE SAYS “I believe i have. Problem is, I can’t remember. i’m sure it’ll come to me.”

HE’S TALKING ABOUT MRS. POTTS AND CHIP!!!!!!! I AM SCREAMING MY HEAD OFF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

don’t talk to me about even meeting isak in that locker room after taking the courage to break up with his four year girlfriend for this boy and then having to hear from that same boy that he decided his life would be better off without mentally ill people around him,,, dont fucking talk to me about even realizing what that meant. about him having to make a decision right there, for both his and isak’s sake. don’t talk to me about even looking isak in the eyes and saying “i think they would love you” while knowing that might be the last time they ever spoke to each other

Not wearing the beanie isn't about being happy. It's about being vulnerable, something Jug chose to do with Betty. (he did not choose to have his beanie off in that scene with Archie; Archie surprised him after he had just showered...he chose to take off hit hat with Betty because even though it's scary to be intimate and vulnerable with someone, she matters to him and their relationship matters to him enough to face his fears)

ummmmm i know that not wearing his hate is supposed to be him being vulnerable. however, like just about every lice scene it felt like jug was just doing it for betty’s sake.

i mean, in this episode in general it’s obvious that betty doesn’t really know jughead or cares about what he wants/feels (this is also something we see in the scene in 1x08 where jug says he’s ashamed of himself and betty’s p much like ‘… lmao k.’). she has know idea when his birthday is, throws him a party even though he hates them, invites fp (his deadbeat dad who has caused a lot of problems for him), etc. she made him feel bad about what he wanted to do.

meanwhile, archie wasn’t a total saint, he did end up going through with the party; but i think thats bc of his parents divorce. he still thought it wasn’t a good idea and knew that jughead didn’t want this (he warned betty like 1000000 times). besides, the whole ‘i don’t wanna be a third wheel’ and ‘she’s your girlfriend now jug’ was giving me a huge jealous vibe- he’s not in a very good place.

so in that scene where jughead is fighting with betty, i think we finally see how he truly feels about the relationship. he feels like some pet project to betty, that she’s trying to change him in an unhealthy way. he was fucking pissed and i think that’s super valid, and he had no intentions of fixing it after chuck exposed betty (which yeah was a shitty thing to do but betty literally almost murdered him i dont feel too bad). to me, it seemed like he only talked to betty bc fp told him to. and then, betty made the whole thing about her and her dark sided shit. sure, he was vulnerable, but betty didn’t respect that or try to help/understand.

so yes, archie stumbled upon jug when he was in a vulnerable state (physically, as in w/out his hat and shirtless, and mentally, as in he’s homeless and feels alone– which is a lot more vulnerable than his scene w/ betty) but jughead doesn’t seem uncomfortable at all. in fact, he’s smiling and even seems relieved. jughead isn’t afraid to be vulnerable or himself around archie (or ‘weird’ as he told betty).  and then he goes on to tell him the shit that’s been going on in his life and archie actually listens and tries to help, unlike betty who made it about her.

so yeah, he was vulnerable around both betty and archie. but with betty it was reluctant, jughead was doing it so that he didn’t lose her bc everyone keeps saying shes good for him even though she doesn’t consider his feelings– and when he is vulnerable around her she doesn’t seem to care. archie cares that jughead was vulnerable, that he told archie his problems and actually tries to help. jughead is at ease around archie, being himself. meanwhile jughead feels ashamed of who he is around betty and is always supporting betty or doing things for her without getting any support back.

And ppl still hate this poor son…

Even if Furuya had his bad times, i think Sawa is not the only one evolving. And im not talking exclusively about pitching…
His character development has been slower in comparison to other charas but these 2 panels reminded me why i still had hopes for him.
Im actually proud of him. Even if im rooting for Sawa about the ace position, i dont want Furuya to leave first string or give up -as ive seen from some salty haters-

This chapter made me so happy in every sense, and even if i thought my fav part would be the oku-miyu-sawa scenes, i cant help but being extremely happy about Furuya and Yui here

Well done Terajima

Well done

top 5 sailor moon moments?

ok anon but there’s a lot for me to be specific about

do you mean OVERALL AS IN DOESNT MATTER? OR ANIME ONLY? OR MANGA ONLY? OR CRYSTAL??? because top 5 cant cover ANY OF THOSE lol but ok here we go let me try for you. ill pick overall because that’s easiest and still leaves room for people to ask specifically for the anime/manga/crystal if they want to.

1. usagi smiling right before she leaps to stop pharaoh 90. this moment kills me in both the manga as well as crystal. the whole scene leading up to this and after this are SO. SO. SOOOO GOOD AND I WANNA CRY JUST THINKING ABOUT IT. it shows a lot of growth for usagi as a character as well as a lot of depth about who she really is, both as a person and as a soldier.

2. dont even get me started on hotaru and chibs. okay these lil precious babies give me so much LIFE its not even funny. the friendship they share is so special and wonderful and there’s nothing i dont love about them together.

3. BABY FUCKING SENSHI.

4. silver millennium flashback scenes. i love all of episode 44 even tho it breaks my heart every single time. like i know its coming, doesnt lessen the break whatsoever. i love the backstory of princess serenity and prince endymion & find it insulting we dont get more of it.

5. EVERY LITTLE MOMENT LIKE THIS FROM CLASSIC.

“YES LUNA, KEEP TALKING”

*SHOVES HIGH SCHOOL ID IN USAGI’S FACE”

*WALKS AROUND INA TUXEDO IN THE DAY TIME*

“ODANGO ATAMA”

FUCK, MY HEART I AM DONE.

why does nobody talk about the scene where Ward is going to bleach the bloodstains in his father's penthouse, and after he sets the bleach down he clenCHES HIS FIST AND IT POPS HIS KNUCKLES AND BASICALLY IT WAS REALLY HOT AND I DONT KNOW WHY WE AREN'T TALKING ABOUT IT

Oh trust me girl we know. We know. That scene is freaking ridiculous. I even have it commemorated in gif form.

He can murder me any day idc just as long as he does that while cleaning up the mess.

pls rant about the clizzy scene

you came thru nonnie ily,,,, but anyways yeah i want to talk about how much i loved this short scene because i can’t rewatch it without tearing up.

So basically, this scene is one of the sweetest, most tender and loving scenes on the show.

It shows how Clary and Izzy are there for each other no questions asked. Izzy walks in ready to talk to Clary, even after everything that happened before (Izzy not wanting to talk to Clary, the fight they had, etc), she is ready to vent and cry there because she trusts Clary and she knows she has a safe enough space to be able to just go and talk to her about whatever she wants because she knows Clary will listen.

I’m pretty sure Clary didn’t know about Raphael and Izzy only having a relationship because od Izzy’s addiction, and Izzy went to Clary’s room either to a) talk about what happened with her and Raphael and tell her the entire story or b) only tell her she finally broke up completely with Raphael for reasons she doesn’t want to mention, and both these options are so good, Izzy could talk to Clary and tell her about everything that happened to her and open up to her or she trusts Clary enough to know she won’t ask any questions that will make her uncomfortable.

The minute Izzy walks in ready to talk to Clary, she sees her crying, she doesn’t even know the reason and she sprints to get to her, to comfort her, to hug her, to try and make her feel better, just to be there for her. She doesn’t ask any questions knowing Clary isn’t ready to talk yet, she just sits there, holding her, making sure Clary knows she is there for her.

I can’t express completely how I feel about this scene and I’m sure I’m gonna re-read this and want to add a million things later. This scene just reminds me of how strong their bond and love for each other is, and I’m really thankful the writers didn’t go for Clary just breaking down in her room alone, but rather have her and Izzy have an important, special, and strong moment.

Hey! Maybe you haven’t been keeping up with current events, but we just got our asses kicked, pal!

mariah’s shoes

ok so like

me and ayesha were talking about this earlier(more so i casually commented on it and ayesha had a complete meltdown over this revelation) BUT BASICALLY:

throughout the entire series, Mariah NEVER WEARS HEELS

and i dont just mean that her shoes arent stillettos or pumps, i mean she is wearing FLATS in every. damn. scene.

and thats just so amazing to me??? i have honestly NEVER seen a woman on television, especially a professional, powerful, respected woman, wear flats on screen. im serious. (the rare exceptions being literal children/teens, and even then, its either converse or low-heeled shoes, not flats)

so we’re both just fangirling super hard over mariah bc all of that swagger and confidence she exudes????? is completely her own????? like lets be real my heels go a long way in making me look/act confident and professional, but mariah walks into/out of a room and OWNS every second of it, all on her own

and!!!! she’s not even particularly tall??? alfre woodard is 5″3!!! which, same(ok whatever im 5″1 but its not that far off

but she NEVER comes across as particularly small or short, even in comparison to the giants in the rest of the cast. like, sure, you can tell there’s a height difference, but that’s more in relation to the fact that Cornell and Luke are seen as big personally, instead of making mariah specifically seem small, if that makes sense??? (and whoo boy ive got a whole other post about the different Types of Tall Cornell and Luke embody despite being the same height and how it reflects the core aspects of their characters, but thats for another time)

for example, theres a height difference between her and Shades that isnt immediately noticeable(imo), esp bc of her posture, which is always looking him dead on, as if they’re the same height, even tho Theo Rossi is a good 6 in taller

(which!!!! someone pls give me that shadymariah fic where he wraps his arms around her from behind and places his chin on the top of her head and she just leans back and breathes bc theyre a team but more importantly he’s hers goddammit and)

idk guys, theres just something so Life Goals™ about Mariah being able to command attention and exude Power&Poise in ballet flats

@wannabanauthor @nys30 @mswyrr @not-a-tardis @spaceshipoftheseus @hbicprettyprincess

y’all are the queens of the mariah meta/shady mariah tags so feel free to chime in w your amazing thoughts :D

the i dont care music video (2009)

is the best and weirdest and most hilarious and craziest and most wonderful and most perfect thing on this world in THIS UNIVERSE THE WORDS TO DESCRIBE THE GENIUS OF IT AND HOW MUCH I LOVE IT DONT EVEN EXIST OKAY

AND NOW LETS TALK ABOUT PETE

HE JUST PULLS OFF THAT MASK AND THEN SMILES LIKE WTFFF ITS SO ADORABLE AND CUTE AND SEXY AT THE SAME TIME AND HIS EYES SHINE AND ITS KILLING ME HE CANT JUST DO THAT

SO I DECIDED TO MAKE A GIF JUST OF THIS SCENE BC THERE IS NOTHING ELSE IN THE WORLD I WANT TO LOOK AT EVER AGAIN

bye

shin-ichi-niichan replied to your post “if y’all wanna ask me shinran stuff i am bored and have a lot of…”

where did your feels came from? i dont have some rn :/

My shinran feels are always there, ready to be triggered by anything.

This is what triggered them this time:

WE DO NOT TALK ABOUT THIS SCENE ENOUGH.

FIRST OF ALL WE DO NOT APPRECIATE SONOKO ENOUGH.

SONOKO IS A BOSS ASS BITCH!!! Shinichi appears backstage and Sonoko is SO CLEVER she tells him to put on the costume and get out there and do the play. AND FUCKING SHINICHO DOESN’T EVEN KNOW THE SCRIPT or what the hell he has to do but boy oh boy he reeaaallly doesn’t want Araide to play that part so he FUCKING GOES FOR IT!! !!! he’s just like “aright let’s do this” AND SONOKO, GOD BLESS SONOKO, IN HER MOMENT OF MAXIMUM SPLENDOR, IN HER CULMINATING MOMENT OF SHINRAN SHIPPER EXTRAORDINAIRE, writes Ran a sign saying “just go with it!!”

THEY CAN FUCK IT UP. THEY CAN FUCK UP THE SHOW AND THE PLAY. SHINICHI DOESN’T EVEN KNOW THE PART FOR GOD’S SAKE HE’S JUST IMPROVIZING AS HE GOES. BUT HE FUCKING GOES FOR IT. SHINICHI KUDO!!!!! SHINICHI I-WAITED-TWENTY-YEARS-TO-TELL-RAN-HOW-I-FELT KUDO!!! SHINICHI I-GET-EMBARASSED-WHEN-SHE-HOLDS-MY-HAND-AND-HUGS-ME KUDO!!!!

SHINICHI STEPS OUT IN A PLAY WHERE HE KNOWS HE’S GONNA HAVE TO KISS RAN !!!! KISS!!! RAN!!! THE LOVE OF HIS LIFE!! !!! IN FRONT OF THE ENTIRE SCHOOL!!! IN FRONT OF KOGORO!!! WHEN HE HASN’T KISSED ANYONE IN HIS LIFE!!!!!! AND HE’S JUST LIKE “WELL OK”

And then he jumps on stage acting all cool (Shinichi, your Yukiko is showing) kicking ass and taking names, and HUGS HER because yes Sonoko (BLESS HER!!) told him to do so, but imagine how good that must have felt!! AND YOU CAN EVEN SEE IT IN THE HALF PART OF HIS FACE UNDER THE MASK!!! He’s just so incredibly glad to be able to hug her, to be with her in his own body after so much suffering, after so long of wanting to say and do things he can’t.

BUT THEN, AS IF THIS WASN’T ENOUGH!!!

THEY GET SO CLOSE TO KISSING!!!

AND NOBODY SAYS ANYTHING AFTERWARDS. Seriously. Nobody blushes. Nobody dies of embarrassment. Nobody teases them about it. THEY GET LIKE THIS CLOSE TO KISSING AND NOBODY REACTS!!! FOR CHRIST’S SAKE SHINICHI CONFESSES AFTER A TRILLION YEARS AND THEY CAN’T EVEN TALK ON THE PHONE WITH EACH OTHER, BUT THEY ALMOST KISS AND NOBODY EVEN BLUSHES AFTERWARDS??? EVEN THE NEXT DAY, SHINICHI AND RAN ARE CASUALLY GOING TO SCHOOL, AND NEITHER OF THEM THINKS ABOUT HOW CLOSE THEY WERE TO KISSING????? GIMME A BREAK

This scene is just so precious on so many levels and so frustrating and such a wonderful break to the UTTER WRECKING HEARTBREAK™ that comes afterwards, and I think we don’t talk about it enough.

Also, I want someone to build Sonoko a fucking golden temple.

thoughts on kpop fans in general disgarding that kpop is a business = money

ask me for my thoughts on things

ooh hm. you know, I’m not too big into the kpop scene. so I’m not too familiar with a lot of these viewpoints. because of this, i’m uneducated on this subject, so take that with a grain of salt

I get where they’re coming from? idols are all super hard-working, and a lot of them don’t get that much money from their work (*coughsbapbeforethelawsuit*). They literally work themselves to exhaustion and don’t get paid nearly enough for it. So obviously, fans are going to get defensive when they hear things like ‘Kpop’s just a business!’ and ‘Kpop idols and groups are so manufactured!’ because who wants to hear that about something/someone they love?

But really though, companies do rule the game, and money talks. K-pop groups have to resort to concepts they might not want to do because it’s more popular. And unfortunately alot of idols do become very ‘fake’ and manufactured, because they have to become marketable to people if they want success. Not all groups have the luxury of making the music and concepts they want, nor getting to be who they really are. money talks in the performance industry, and it sucks, but it’s true :/ So Kpop is a business, even though I can see why fans don’t want to believe the group they like is being manipulated for money.

the conversation isak has with eva in the last ep of s3 is important because it isnt just isak talking about even-it’s showing that mentally ill people can-and will-be loved regardless of their illness. people are going to love us through relapses and episodes and on the days we cant get out of bed. isak being there for even on his good days and his bad gives hope to mentally ill people, and makes us believe we’re deserving of love and that we’re capable of having a functioning/healthy relationship, just like even.

Don't you think Atsushi's orphanage scenes was annoying? Am i the only one?

There was this post that talked at length about the flashback scenes and how they tied in with sensitive issues Atsushi faced such as abuse and self-contempt. To sum it up, they said that overcoming mental trauma from abuse is never easy, and there’s this whole cycle of going back to the habit of either blaming yourself or accepting that you never deserved anything better.

I want to give the OP kudos for a refreshing interpretation of a scene that is in line with the theme and message the creators have introduced and have been trying to convey in the series. Unfortunately, I did not get to reblog/like the post so if anyone reading this knows which post I’m referring to, it would be appreciated if you can send the link over.

I do not think the criticism itself should be dismissed though, because there is a reason a lot of people feel the orphange scenes overdone and tiresome, myself included. It is not so much of a trouble in the manga, but in the anime, the flashbacks do little to flesh out Atsushi after it has been shown the 2nd time. On the contrary, you might find the response to be opposite of what the anime team must have intended: watchers getting the vaguest sense that they are being lured in, being TOLD to sympathize with the tragic Atsushi instead of the feeling coming to them organically. Viewers are intelligent creatures, and I can say that there is nothing more annoying than being pushed to feel a certain way and that failing to do so must mean YOU MISSED A POINT. And after all, there are so many ways you can show a scene without it being monotonous. Since viewers knew what was coming, there was less of “What have they done to Atsushi-kun this time?!” and more of a “Urgh, not this again!” Media at its best and most effective can capture the attention of even the most indifferent. Had the execution of these scenes been handled better, perhaps adding details little by little to keep things a tad bit more exciting, maybe there wouldn’t have been any complaints. (Well, some people will find things to complain about anyhow.)

…Which reminds me! I did like that they’ve shown the oprhanage director’s face in the second to the last episode. It seems to us that Atsushi has begun to see the director as a person directly responsible for his unhappiness instead of him as just a faceless symbol of his abusive childhood. This was what I was talking about when it came to the little details, but at this point perhaps it was too late to reverse the thinking that “the orphanage scenes are annoying”.

okay! okay! natasha romanoff emoted so much for steve rogers during this film i mean there is a whole bunch of scenes but these just caught me because she, in the first one, is worried about his life okay, for so many reasons maybe because she knows steve is willing to die for someone else especially bucky barnes and thas the reason why she  tries to talk him down the entire movie because his actions for bucky will definitely get him killed she is so genuinely worried for his life!!! okay!!!

then this next one. she is starin straight daggers at ross’s ass for even thinking about coming for him. like holy hell dont let her catch you out on the street you will get every bit of the asswhoopin you deserve for coming after the boys
