Post-Paul Gray’s death, one time member Donnie Steele was called upon to tour as Slipknot’s live bassist. To date, Donnie has not appeared on stage–instead playing along backstage.

Donnie was the original guitarist for Slipknot, and recorded on ‘Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.’ in 1996, and only played one show with the band before departing the group. Prior to Slipknot, Donnie had played with Paul in a death metal band called Body Pit.

Okay, so after @millin21’s cute little comics, I felt to happy to draw the sad thing I was drawing. So I changed over to this ^^

Slipknot has announced that founding member Donnie Steele will replace Paul Grey on bass for their upcoming European Tour.  Read a statement from the band below!

“Donnie was in the band at the very beginning, and rather than get an outsider, we thought it would be a fitting tribute to Paul to play with someone from within the family. Donnie was great friends with Paul and we can’t think of a better way to celebrate his memory than with someone who was there with us at the very beginning. The eight of us are looking forward to being onstage again and honoring Paul’s legacy with our families in Europe and Brazil this summer.”
