Heyo the bitter bean is back again.
I just wanted to make one thing clear for those of you who are like me and don’t like Tharja’s new design: Do not go around bullying people who actually like Christmas Tharja’s design. I will admit that the artist did a really good job when they drew her (from an artist standpoint it’s amazing) and I like the design itself just not on Tharja (or on an armor unit in general honestly). There is no reason for the fandom at large to start condemning individuals who actually like the outfit. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion and I’m fine with the outfit itself, just (as I have said repeatedly) not on Tharja. It’s not nice to bully people and call them “thot-sympathizers” or whatever. So long as they are aware of the problems with
it and why it makes people uncomfortable it’s fine and ultimately none of your business so stay in your lane.
For those of you who do like Tharja’s design: Just be aware that this is a massive cash grab by Nintendo/IntSys and there really is no way of defending that outfit as it DOES NOT ring true to the character (and is actually pretty disrespectful to her) OR the type of unit she’s supposed to be. Just accept that it is what it is and don’t try to pass it off as an “empowering” outfit because it is absolutely not, especially on Tharja. You have to understand that it’s NOT in Tharja’s character to actually
LIKE outfits like that or the attention that comes with it (see her
conversations with Cordelia and Nowi in the Xenologues) no matter what
the fandom interpretation of her would have you believe. She dresses the
way she does in Awakening because she’s from a desert country and
because she’s a dark mage and dark mages always dress like that. She is
not aware of her sex appeal and when she is made aware she becomes
embarrassed and self-conscious so it would be unlikely she would be
comfortable in an outfit like that. That’s why a lot of people (Tharja fans
included) are upset about it (aside from being salty about this banner
being all Awakening).
