Imagine Steve wasn't in love with Bucky Barnes before his big freeze, but now he's falling head over heels for the Winter Soldier
Steve wasn’t confused
about his feelings. Not really. He’d been attracted to men just as much as he
had been women. He might’ve had to keep
his attraction to men fairly quiet until he woke up in the twenty-first
century, but he’d never been confused about feeling how he did.
The confusing part was
Bucky. Or, maybe the confusing part was
that it wasn’t Bucky. He wasn’t sure what the difference was, exactly, and what
it meant that he hadn’t been attracted to Bucky before he was the Winter
Solider, but he was now that Bucky wasn’t the Bucky he used to know.
He wasn’t sure if it was
the hair, or that shared life experience he’d mentioned to Natasha once, or if
it was something else that Steve thought, somewhere deep down, that he should
feel bad about because the change in Bucky had come at the expense of so much.
Bucky wasn’t the Bucky he
remembered and that difference made all the difference. He was darker and haunted and as strong as
–if not stronger- than Steve and there was something wily that shifted behind his eyes, sometimes, that
made Steve’s stomach flip.
Bucky noticed. And made sure to bring it up when he knew he’d
catch Steve off-kilter enough to talk about it (exhausted after sparring. Steve would be damned if Bucky hadn’t timed
it perfectly because he knew how good Steve thought he looked exhausted and
“You wanna do something
about it, or are you trying to see how frustrated you can make yourself?”
“What?” Steve sputtered. He wasn’t ready and didn’t know what to say
and felt guilty that he was attracted to Bucky (the Winter Solider) now that he
had seventy years of unspeakable horrors behind him. Steve wondered what that said about
Bucky sighed. “I see the way you watch me. Did you always do that?”
“You mean did I do it when
– Before?” Steve managed to keep his voice
Let it never be said that
Steve Rogers backed down from a confrontation.
Bucky nodded, watching
Steve carefully, searching his face for.
Something. When he finally spoke,
it was much quieter, secret-sharing. “I
was hoping you’d say that.”
“What?” Steve leaned back
against his locker. He was pretty sure
the wold was tilting on it’s axis.
“Steve, I – I’ve been
wandering around thinking you’re mooning over someone I’m not anymore and – and
it’s not true. You want me, not him. I mean – you know.”
Steve nodded. “Yeah, Buck.
I do. But what does that say
“-Stop. We’re both different. This might be the best excuse to finally forgive
yourself for the fact that seventy years just happened to change us both.”
It was Steve’s turn to
pick apart Bucky’s expression and when he’d done so to his satisfaction he
reached out towards Bucky, who leaned in in kind.
JARVIS ensured the locker
room was off-limits for the next week.
(First for the privacy of Captain Rogers and Sargent Barnes, and second
for the repairs necessary to the space once they were through with it).
After much photo editing and squinting I was able to make out almost all of it:

i started thinking about whether nick and charlie would ever use pet names and .. i feel like they eventually do, and the first time it happens is something like this: charlie’s not having a good mental health day and nick’s really concerned/wants to comfort him however he can and he just says it without thinking :’)
I wrote this instead of working on my ereri pieces because I have commitment issues… also dedicated to the lovely monsoondownpour who recently had a traumatizing experience that needs to be erased with some hot ereri…
hope you like it bby!!
Eren looks up at the sound
of his office door opening, and he’s proud of how composed he keeps his
features when he sees Levi leaning against the door. He’s smiling, genuine and
a bit crooked, his eyes narrowed faintly in a way that makes Eren’s heart beat
fast and his throat feel tight with want.
Eren turns back to his
paperwork without so much as a greeting, and he hears the faint click of the
lock, a clear message of Levi’s intent that echoes in the silence of the room.
A rush of anticipation pulses
through his veins and down the length of his body, making him feel hot. It’s difficult to keep his hands from trembling.
When he thinks he has
himself under control, he looks up. But Levi’s back is to him, his head bent to
study a pile of books resting on top of a glass coffee table at the center of
“What do you want?” Eren
asks, and it costs him to keep his voice so light and airy. He thinks of his assistant
sitting outside, and how thin the frosted glass is that separates them.
Levi’s hands are clasped
behind his back, and the lazy slant of his shoulders and the sharp tilt of his hips
make Eren feel like he’s the one interrupting the other man’s day. His tight
control is slipping in the wake of that beautiful, lithe body.
“Don’t be so impatient,”
Levi murmurs without turning around. “Your assistant said you were free.”
Eren’s body hums in
response to the silky tenor of Levi’s voice and his presence commands his attention
so completely, it almost aches. He can
feel the pull of him like an unmoored vessel in rough waters.
“I’m busy, Levi,” Eren
says, shuffling papers across the surface of his desk, and there is a delicious
kind of pleasure in saying the other man’s name. “Why are you here?”
Levi turns around, his
burning gaze locking with Eren’s. He doesn’t need to say anything; Eren can see
the desire clouding his features like a fever, and he begins to stalk across
the room, quiet and sleek, all feline grace and power.
He moves to stand behind
Eren, brining his hands up lightly to rest against his shoulders. His scent
makes Eren’s chest flood with warmth and fondness, and he feels for a moment like he’s
wrapped in their bed sheets.
Levi’s mouth brushes over
his jawline, and Eren tilts his head to allow better access for those warm,
wet lips to slide against his skin. “I’m here to help,” Levi says, and the
words make Eren shiver. “Tell me what you need.”
With one last huff of Levi’s
warm breath against his skin, Eren pushes his chair back and stands, turning
and sliding on top of the desk, paperwork forgotten. He fists
a hand into Levi’s white shirt and pulls him into the vee of his legs.
“What I need?” Eren asks, hooking one knee around Levi’s hip and tugging
“Hmm yes,” Levi agrees,
sliding his hands that feel like flames down the hard muscles of Eren’s back,
before he settles them on his waist. He’s
latched onto Eren’s neck again, licking now.
“What I need,” Eren says again, as
Levi’s hands move to rest against his belt buckle. “Is for you to be very, very quiet.” He’s hard now, shaking with his need.
“I can be quiet,” Levi
murmurs against his skin, all sin and promise.
He rests his hand over Eren’s arousal, rubs the heel of his palm
slowly, back and forth over his clothed length.
@markrosewater recently answered an ask about teaser cards in sets and I’ve been thinking about it ever since. What I’m referring to as a teaser card is a card the makes reference to something that’s in the pipeline but which hasn’t been printed yet. It’s a card (or cards) that will come in a later set or block.
I believe there’s a right and a wrong way to do these. Read on to see how Wizards blew it in the past and find out if Hour of Devastation will repeat the failure or deliver on the promise.
