doctor who is my religion

The reason I have to drive 800 miles for my tubal is because religious institutions run the vast majority of hospitals in Oklahoma so there are very few places where you can even have the procedure performed. On top of that, not all doctors are in network so the list goes to ONE doctor who can perform my tubal, covered under my insurance.

Some time ago, the Dalai Lama said that he thinks it’s possible he’ll be reincarnated as a woman.

That’s pretty amazing, don’t you think?

Here’s this guy who is the heir, if not in spirit then in practice, to a long chain of really important religious figures who were all men, and the dude’s 78 years old, but he totally believes he may choose to be reincarnated as a woman!

Meanwhile, Steven Moffat says that it doesn’t make sense to regenerate a female Doctor, who is not even a religious figure, who doesn’t have religious texts attached to him, and is basically a silly cartoon character.

Does anyone else realize how freaking bizarre it is that an ancient religious institution has its head screwed on straighter than a science fiction TV writer?

Also, go Dalai Lama!  I don’t mean to minimize the seriousness or sacredness of his or anyone else’s beliefs by this post.  I’m just saying that if something Totally Serious and Important like his succession can be gender equal, then obviously something totally unserious should also be gender equal.
