ok, so, yesterday morning, I opened at the brew-pub. Our lunch was ridiculous. We were open for maybe ten minutes, and then the entire place was packed. I had literally one table open, and it was just me. I’m the only server. For whatever reason, the kitchen lost this one food ticket (it was crazy busy for them, obviously, it was just two of them, one of them is the normal dishwasher…so basically, shit just happens - no one’s at fault). Anyways, this guy waits a really long time for his food. I feel awful about it. He sweetly tells me that he’s *got* to get back to work and to cancel the order. I go to the back to get the bartender, and boom. There’s his food that *just* came up. I boxed it up for him, apologized again, and grabbed him a to go drink, extra fries, and an order of our chicken skewers. He was totally ok with me (obviously mad about the long wait, but he got it), gave me a $10 tip (on a $12 check), and told me that it was totally ok, he understands that it got crazy, there’s only one of me, and I’m not in the kitchen. As he’s walking out, this bitch that apparently can’t mind her own business at her table stops him and yells at him to tell at me and demand free food AND leave an awful review on yelp. I was like, whoa ok, this doesn’t have anything to do with you, you don’t even work here?? wtf is happening? Guy is just like, fuck off and leaves. I’m freaking out the whole rest of the day because he seemed ok but because of that bitch, he seemed super pissed. I finish my shift, and about an hour after I got home, I get a text from the owner saying he needs to ask me about something from the morning shift. *cue heart attack* I call him and before I can even say anything, he asks me about the guy. I told him what I did. He tells me to check out our Facebook page and call him back. I go to Facebook. This guy wrote this huge review about what a great server I was as well as a PSA about how regardless of what you do, you don’t know what happens in a kitchen until you’ve worked in a kitchen so don’t treat servers like shit for things they can’t control. I wish more people were like him because there’s too many privileged assholes that think that they can just write some bad reviews to be bribed to change them for a comped meal or free shit. That woman complained about everything even when nothing was wrong and was clearly just there to try to get something for free. I’m exhausted by people thinking that if they don’t like what they ordered, that I can just “take it off” or “make a discount”. If you don’t like cheese and beans and crunchy chips and bbq pork, then how about not getting the fucking nachos? If you hate spicy food, don’t ask for wings in our Diablo fire sauce. If you don’t like lettuce, don’t order the fucking wedge salad. Basically, don’t be the bitch; be the cool guy that understands shit lol ok rant over
Tweek, does Kyle soothe/help you during any episodes you might have? Does he ever make you feel a little .. crazy? Maybe with all of the ghosts and paranormal stuff since he doesn't believe in them. I guess my real question, though, is.. Do you ever wish he'd comfort you differently?
