do not let me use photoshop

I’m trying my hand in icon making! I haven’t done this in a long time, but now that I’m done with finals I have time. Like/reblog is you use please!

anonymous asked:

Can you give me some advices/tutorials on how to make gifs? I suck at it and hell, I've been trying to gif for two days and I still can't :(

Of course! Let me just say when you start off making gifs it can be very difficult and confusing (I know it was for me). So I’m going to try and give you lots of tips and things that I’ve learned so hopefully you can skip lots of the hard parts I had to learn on my own. Also don’t get discouraged if you feel like your gifs aren’t turning out amazing, you’ve just started and it’s taken me over the course of 3 years to start making ones I’m actually happy with, as always practice gives you experience! Anyways enough of my rambling lets get started.

Here we are, with this new tutorial of mine. This is like my third tutorial about my icons, since I’ve improved a lot and I’m happy that people would like to know my way of doing so let’s start!

  • A bit of photoshop vocabulary knowledge
  • Being a bit able to make icons (I think it is very difficult to start making icons, it requires a lot of time and dedication, seriously at least for me LOL)
  •  Photoshop!
  • Don’t use this tutorial if you want to recreate a tutorial like this(?), just use it as a base for your icons, piece of advice to make your own icons, since that some things that I learnt was thanks to other tutorials from youtube and Tumblr, that I really thank a lot. Some Others were thanks to my lil creativity, and the fact that I love experimenting things

So, okay we can start then!!

Celebrity Pose Pack

I randomly made some poses for my sims and I think they turned out pretty decent so I decided to share them. They were inspired by a few of Exo’s photo shoots for the magazine “The Celebrity”. I had no idea as to what to name this pose pack so I just went along with the magazine brand but removed the first word. I’m still not that familiar with photoshop controls so do turn a blind eye to the weird edits. The poses are also not 100% exactly the same as the original because I tweaked some of them to my liking. Also, the sims used were not inspired by the group members but some of their outfits were.  Do let me know if there’s any issue.

Do not re-upload, especially onto paysites. Do not claim as yours.

It is pose list compatible. Non pose list version is included too.

Accessory Tutorial, Part Two: Textures

Another disclaimer: I do my textures the lazy way with accessories. I say lazy way but tbh this is really the only way I know how to do it. I don’t know how to get all fancy with baking and tbh, this method is good enough for me, so it’s the one I use.

What you’ll need for this part:

Blender (still)

A photo editing software that lets you save as .dds. I’ll be using photoshop but there’s also gimp, which is free.

Step One: Baking

I’ve already written a tutorial on how to UV map the way I do it, you can find that here.

After you get through with the tutorial linked above, you should have something that looks like this. What we need to do now, is create an image to bake our UV onto.

To do that, press the New button in the toolbar under the UV window. A window will pop up. Make sure both numbers are set to 1024, alpha is checked, generated type is blank, and then press okay. Now with something to bake our UV pieces onto, we can actually get to the baking.

You’ll find the Baking drop down menu in under the camera on the right toolbar. Scroll down to where it says bake, open that drop down and set Bake Mode to Ambient Occlusion. Then, you want a bit of room for error, so give yourself a margin. I usually set the margin to 2. Then, when you’ve got that done, press bake.

Now you want to export your accessory out of Blender as a wavefront object.

If you make any changes to your necklace in blender at this point, like if you add anything or move any of your UV pieces, you need to RE-BAKE, RE-SAVE and RE-EXPORT or your textures will not align properly.

Again, it doesn’t matter what you name it or where you export it to, just make sure it’s easy to get to and you remember what you named it. I have a naming system that I use for making things. At this point, I exported the necklace as ‘aliennecklace_obj_001’

Step Two: Image editing software of your choice

I don’t really know how to explain this part, so I’m going to record myself doing it and post the link to the video. Head’s up, I was listening to music while I recorded this and it’s pretty loud, so turn down the volume on your speakers/headphones!

Here’s the video!

When you’re done with the image editing software of your choice, you should have three images:

A multiplier, which should be a neutral grey. The multiplier determines where the textures need to be.

A mask, which should be Red, Yellow, and Magenta, depending on how many color channels you want. If you only wanted one color channel, then you only need to color everything red. I want my necklace to have three color channels, one for each part of the necklace, which is why mine has all three colors.

specular, to be honest, I don’t really know what this one does, I just know that if you don’t do it right, your accessory will be all shiny. Sometimes I get this one right, sometimes I don’t. We’ll see if I get it right this time around.

anonymous asked:

hello!! do you have any art tips? your coloring, anatomy, and backgrounds are a HUGE favorite of mine, your pretty much my favorite artist!!

Hello hello Anons and @sevensity! I’m so sorry for the huge delay! ;___; Ahhh thank you so much, you guys are so sweet and you all give me so much more credit than I deserve. At the moment I primarily use only photoshop, but I have experience with traditional media.

Let’s see.. I’ve described some things that I do in previous asks. If I had to boil it down to some things that I find the most important it would be observing and drawing from real life, as well as thinking of things in their most simplistic of forms first and then detail dead last. Color is what I personally struggle with the most and I found it incredibly helpful to observe the world around me. Shadows being made by a warm light source will be a cooler color, but if the light source is a colder hue the shadow will appear as a warmer color. It’s really fascinating (although these rules apply to the real world and are a good foundation, as an artist you can ultimately bend the rules in your drawing to whatever you believe looks good).

As for cintiq/wacom @sevensity, apologies I only had the chance to play with a cintiq twice in my life haha so I’m not sure about ALL of the details. But I am positive that both the cintiq and the tablet have to be connected to a computer in order to be used (except for some “ipad/portable tablet” versions). Consider them extensions of your computer, they do not come with the actual coloring program installed inside of it and you will need your computer open and running in order to color on the cintiq or with a tablet. Also the cintiq is different from a tablet. A cintiq you draw directly on the screen (while still connected to a computer, so it’s like another monitor in a sense). A drawing tablet you draw on but the result of your drawing shows up on the screen in front of you, it’s similar to a complex track pad. You have to learn to draw while looking up instead of down at your hands :) I hope that makes some sense.. But good luck with starting up digital art ~ ! It does sound intimidating but it is so fun and convenient once you become comfortable with it. You’ll do great I’m sure!

Answering asks below. You guys are so supportive and lovely, it makes me tear up! I wish I had the space to answer them all (I’m pushing it already), but know that I have read ALL of them and if you are non-anon I will pm you! Also I’m so sorry I haven’t been able to get to them until now.

Hey there @haikyu-haiku :) it is just the crests! Since they all coexist in the same kingdom they all wear the same clothing. Their crests are the only thing that differentiate them (apart from the sun clan having mostly bright, outgoing members and the moon clan being comprised of mostly quiet, methodical thinkers)

Thank you so much Anon! Yes of course, he is also a fav of mine! It’s hard to imagine Bokuto in anything without Akaaaaaahhhhhshi by his side hahah. Akaashi will likely be his right hand man/guard.

Hello Anon! Yes I would and I want to! It might not be anytime soon, as I have been struggling with my art lately, because I’m finding it more helpful atm to do more studies and draw “less complex” fanart on the side. Apologies! But I definitely would love to get back to the fantasy haikyuu as soon as I’m able <3

Hey there Anon! Thank you so much, I’m really happy that you like the AU <3 it’s so encouraging to hear! I am not planning to write it personally (as I am not a particularly fantastic writer haha), but you can read @mikazau‘s really amazing written first chapter of the AU -> here <- :)) It was an absolute joy to read!

@the-ultimate-trash Ahhhhh! This is. I cannot. But ILY too <3 Thank you so much for this, I can’t stop re-reading! It just made my day to see and I feel so honored that you took the time out of your day to write for this AU ;___; You are so amazing and thank you again for sharing your work with me!

Hi Anon, absolutely! Everyone is allowed to cosplay anything I’ve drawn! It is an honor and apologies again for the lateness (I’m probably way too late ;___;)

Ahhhh hello there @preciousghouls! Thank you so much, you are so sweet ahhhh ~ It is ABSOLUTELY OK with me if you want to write the timeloop AU! In fact I’m extremely flattered that you even WANT to write it. It’s such a huge compliment (to me at least) to have a writer say that they saw your drawing and felt like writing for it ;____; thank you so much for the interest! I had a couple Anons ask the same Q and the answer is the same for everyone! Yes, you may write for any of the AUs!

OHHHHH YOOOO Anon. I should have known this. I’m a huge fma fan too but that really slipped my mind hahaha. Thank you for the correction! In the end I really just drew it thinking blandly “oh I want it in his eye so I can have fun drawing the mark” LOL

Hello @scgawara and @picturethosesmiles! Thank you so much! I actually do have an instagram! But I hardly used it until now and I never really thought to share it because of that haha. Here’s my IG: here username: mikkapi :)) but I don’t really plan on posting many finished drawings on there in the future ~

Hey there @saikimin and Anon! Thank you so much! Also thank you for asking! Anyone may repost my work and use them as icons as long as there are credits :) Reposting on IG is also fine even though I have one already. Just applying credits is all I ask <3

Hello Anon! Thank you so much you are too kind! And I’m sorry unfortunately no I am not taking any commissions at the moment, as my top priority is building my portfolio and working on a couple personal projects that I have already started. But thank you again for your kind comment and I will let you guys know if I ever do open commissions! <3

Haha hi there! I love Yuri in a ponytail as well <3 hmmm but yeah, good question! I have way too many haha. In terms of more traditional artists I’ve always loved the styles of Monet, Michael Malm, and Glen Keane. Since I’m very into the digital age of art as well, I also REALLY admire the work of @wlopwangling and @mmcoconut and @princecanary. They are amazing and unique and everyone should check them out!

Hey there @just-a-little-nerd! Thank you so much for your kind words <3 I have considered it but I get worried about keeping up, as I have a portfolio to polish first and foremost. But one day I’d absolutely love to! And I hope I’ll be able to create quality work for you guys then :))

Ahhh thank you so much Anon ;___; I do like them. Quite a lot. I had a whole mafia/cop comic strip for them based on “Welcome to the Madness” buuuut… no time… hahaha. Here’s this sketch instead??

Thank you again to everyone for all the wonderful messages! I love you all and I’m sorry again I’m so terrible at responding within a reasonable amount of time. Take care and hope summer is going well for you all!

How to sharpen gifs

When I learned how to make gifs, I could not find a single damn tutorial that helped me to sharpen them. Most of them assumed I knew what to do or where things were and I never did.

So when I offered to help a friend with it, I thought it was easier to make a post about it. I hope you enjoy!

KAP OH MY GOODNESS THAT VIDEO WITH ARIN WAS AMAZING?! I know I'm kinda late to ask this, but I was wondering how you edited that? Because the words were super cute, and I've been trying to figure out how to do that for Months and I haven't really succeeded? I was wondering (only if you have the time and don't mind of course) if you'd be willing to do a quick tutorial? Anyway yea I seriously adore your photography and videos you're really quite talented.

the problem with making tutorials for me is that all my software is in russian? and i’m not sure if we use the same one so it might be an even bigger issue? but to put it simply - if you write something on a separate layer and let the background stay transparent in photoshop and then save in .png then you can drop it on top of your video in almost any editing programme (i use premiere pro) - so i just wrote all the tiny bits with my graphic tablet to which the drivers do not work so it still sucked :^) and dropped those transparent .png files on top of the video

Augusta Artwork by SaudadeSims

Hey guys! It’s been forever since I got anything finished so I could put it up for download, but I finally got this wall art done! I’m still working on the dining room I posted as a WIP but I got inspired making some standing frames for that set and wanted to make a complete set for the wall. So here we are :)

Things you need to know: The smaller versions of each mesh pull their textures from the largest one in the set. For example, the medium, small, and tiny circles pull from the large circle. Therefore, you need to have the large mesh in game for the smaller versions to work

Each large painting (for lack of a better word) has 12 different art swatches and 3 different frame colors for a total of 36 swatches apiece. Again, the smaller paintings share their textures with the largest ones.

Large, medium, small and, tiny Circles: 334 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Ovals : 406 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Horizontal Ovals: 406 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Squares: 46 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Rectangles: 46 polys

Large, medium, small, and tiny Horizontal Rectangles: 46 polys

TOU: Don’t reupload my stuff, please. Don’t put anything of mine behind (or the like) or on a paysite. DON’T include my CC in your mods folder that you put up for download (even if it’s to complete a house you are offering for download). Even if you really, really want to. Please don’t.

Please feel free to recolor, but use the selective clone method so that my mesh is required. If you want my psd templates for these paintings, just let me know and I’ll send them to you :).

Credits: To all the creators of the art I used, thank you. None of the pictured art is mine. To the wonderful people over @sims4studioofficial, I don’t know what we’d do without you. I used the recolorable/remeshable S4S paintings as the base for mine. Photoshop, Blender, Maya. And @deelitefulsimmer my constant cheerleader :) <3 you!

For those of you learning how to draw here’s how I usually create my fan art! (Depending on my mood, or how my wrist is feeling this may differ step by step. But this is the process I use 85% of the time.)

Program: Paint Tool SAI

  1. Slap down the character’s color to build their form.
  2. Sketch on top of the color (usually super, super messy, because hey that’s part of the process. I give kudos to artists who have perfect line art)
  3. Hide the color layers to show the full messy sketch
  4. Make a pink layer on top of that sketch and set the Mode to Screen
  5. Do your line art on top of the pink Screen layer
  6. Delete the messy sketch layer
  7. Turn the colored layers back on
  8. Color correct or leave as is!

If you’d like me to do anymore tutorials let me know! I’m still a beginner at SAI, but I want to help anyone who is struggling with drawing. These steps can be used in SAI, Photoshop or any drawing program/editor.

Thanks for the continued support you guys!

You were my every sunrise-You were my every sunset-You were my eternal happiness-You were my eternal regret-You were my everlasting joy-You were my everlasting tears-You were my only hope for security-You were the only thing I feared-You were the blood that barreled through my body-The blood that barreled through my heart-You were the cold steel against my temple-You were my light in the dark-You were my reason for living-My reason for death-You were my reason for exhaling-My single last breath-You were my first thought in the morning-And the last thing I thought at night-You were the song in the wind-You were my reason for life-You consumed my mind with demons-Ate my soul away with hell-Showed me heaven under covers-But you kept me trapped in a cell-You hit my heart with the panic-Let me in all your thoughts-Kept my soul with your sex-Kept my mind at a loss-I let stupidity realm-While the Devil he walked-Dreaming of escaping-When karmas been sought-Alone in my room-With my heart in the dark

pastagay  asked:

How did you do that red and blue effect thing on your dave art?

Ho ho ho i learned this trick literally yesterday, let me share:
(Ps. I’m using photoshop for this)

1. Flatten your image and make two copies of it. Set the top layer to “screen”.

2. While having the top copy selected go to image > adjustments > levels; a window with mountains should pop up:

3. Click where it says RGB and select red from the list; then grab the middle gray triangle under the graph area and pull it all the way to the right, click OK. Your picture should change colours!

4. Do a similar thing to the second copy following the steps:
- select blue and then move the middle slider to the right,
- dont close the window yet!!
- change blue to green and pull its middle slider to the right as well,
- click okay

5. By now you should have 3 layers: the original one (must be on the bottom), and two weird colourful copies above it. Only the top copy should be set to screen. Your pic should look like the original version alone.

6. Easiest part: grab the screen copy and move it to the left/right! The RGB split will happen :D

That’s it, you’re ready to go!! Hope it helped!! <3 If you’re confused you can check out this site, they explained it pretty well.

I was asked if I could make a tutorial of how I made the line art in this Castiel graphic. Well, I think it would be good to say that I used Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop to make it. But if you don’t have Illustrator, don’t worry, Photoshop will be enough. Even though, I’ll try to explain how to do it on both ;)

Well, let’s go to the tutorial, right?

okay so i'm sorry for asking what it basically a pretty selfish question but: i am looking into digital art software/hardware, and i was wondering if you ever feel restrained by the capabilities of photoshop, or if you think it is a really good software to use, and if you wish you were using a different tablet/software instead (if so what would that be)? basically, what is your professional opinion?

i LOVE photoshop. i’ve utilized it for multiple purposes, and it’s one of the programs that hasn’t let me down. i went up a ladder before getting to it, using free programs like, uh..i think it was called “Brush” that i found, then GIMP, fire alpaca, paint tool SAI, etc–but so far PS has beaten them all for me.

THAT BEING SAID, i do use windows as my OS, and windows supports a third-party plugin that i heavily use. that’s Lazy Nezumi Pro, and it’s what rendered SAI inferior for me. photoshop all day, every day. i do know a lot of people mix PS with Illustrator though, which i’ve not had the chance to do yet.

in regards to hardware, i really wish i was using a cintiq or some other graphics tablet with a screen display. after doing a lot of traditional recently, i really do like my organic, full-arm brush movements. it’d handle my humongous high res pieces a lot better, too. but it’s definitely not something i would say is necessary for someone starting out.
