do et~

i draw joseph and caesar casually a lot when i’m bored

There’s a theory going around that Mr. Kubdel (Alix’s dad) is Hawkmoth, and Gabriel Agreste is a red herring to lead us off the path.  My husband has a theory that Hawkmoth is neither and it’s actually Gabriel’s secret twin brother that will show up to throw EVERYone off.  I’m sick on the couch, so I thought I’d binge a few episodes and see if this idea has any merit.  I’m not going to state the obvious stuff pointing to Gabriel as Hawkmoth (his safe full of Miracu-crap, his interest in LB’s and CN’s Miraculous in the Jackady episode, the ENTIRETY of the Jackady episode, etc.).  Just some new observations.  Here we go!

The first question is “how does Hawkmoth keep his Miraculous hidden?”.  We know that the butterfly Miraculous is a brooch, which could explain either of these fashion choices:

(Even though Gabriel should know that stripes are SO last season.)

Neither of them are ever seen without their neck wear (and Mr. Kubdel’s is even purple).

There is also the question of Hawky’s baby blues and chiseled features, which both candidates have.  However, look at their noses:

It’s kind of hard to see here, but both Gabriel and Hawkmoth have similar noses.  Mr. Kubdel’s, however, is slightly hooked at the end.  Unless he’s squishing the tip of his nose into that mask, it doesn’t match.

Now, let’s look at the theory that Hawkmoth’s observatory is somewhere in Gabriel’s office.  I mentioned in a previous post that my husband thought the entrance was either behind the painting of his wife or somewhere close by.  It would explain why he’s in his office in both the Jackady and Christmas episodes right before we see Hawkmoth.  Ironically, he also caused both of those akumas personally.  Hmmm….

In Jackady, he’s looking RIGHT AT THE PAINTING before Hawkmoth appears.

We’re led to believe Chat Noir had reminded him of “someone he knew” (aka, his wife) and that this is his first suspicion his son is running around Paris in a leather cat suit.  But, what if he’s about to go transform?  Then, there is the little matter of Hawkmoth telling the akuma in the very next scene NOT to go after Gabriel.  And once Gabriel’s dad-napped, Hawks doesn’t appear in the rest of the episode.  Convenient.

So, Gabriel is Hawkmoth, right?  Not so fast…

Next, let’s look at the evil lair.

Again, hard to tell, but the room isn’t a typical square room.  It’s square-ish with rounded corners.  Supposing that the room either exists in the Agreste mansion (for Gabriel) or the Louvre (for Mr. Kubdel), which building would fit a room like that?

The answer?  Both.

When we see an akuma being sent out, we get this scene, almost every single time.

Notice the Eiffel Tower in the background?  Waaaaay far away from our fav villain’s lair?  Now, look at where the Agreste Mansion is…

But then, what–

Not the exact distance, but close.  Also, check out this post by @legend-of-sora .  They do a great job of discussing the Louvre theory using Google maps.

The conclusion is that either one of these gentlemen could be Hawkmoth.  OR, it could be Gabe’s evil twin trying to bring his sister back and Gabriel just knows about the Miraculous because he has a freaking shrine to them in his safe.  Either way, it’s fun to speculate and this show does a great job of giving you an answer and then making you doubt yourself with just one or two scenes.

“I’m in a multi-storey car park and I notice that I’m surrounded by the Flintstones”

Alex + The Dream Synopsis lyrics

Rouge et Noir 第3弾 ピットボス アーレン・クライヴ編 『Double Down』(Rouge et Noir Vol.3 • Pit Boss Arlen Clive Hen)

Hanakagami has announced the third volume of Rouge et Noir! In contrast to the previous two volumes, the featured character is actually a villain. ( • v • )

Synopsis (Paraphrased):

The drug management division of the public health ministry has been keeping a close eye on the illicit dealings involving the rising popularity of a new drug called “Rouge et Noir.”

After being assigned to the special regional criminal investigation unit due to times of emergency, and given your laudable scores in your training programs, you have been given an especially unique mission as one of the very few female agents in the drug management division.

In specific, you are to infiltrate the syndicate (“House”) currently distributing the drug by making contact with a high-ranked leader of the organization—Arlen Clive.

You manage to catch the eye of Arlen after making numerous visits to and from the bar rumored to be his regular haunt. Arlen, in turn, starts to get closer to you in order to entice you into becoming his lover.

But as you two spend more together, you find yourself becoming increasingly charmed by his mysterious and gentlemanly nature…

hahaha guys the musical version of Romeo and Juliet is just so quality, honestly:

French? Hungarian? You can listen to the soundtrack in English probably, but pick a language and prepare for An Experience

French version is Romeo et Juliette, and it’s the original play/music

  • the Montagues and Capulets are color-coded. Pretty sure it’s supposed to be red and blue, but honestly, it’s more like magenta and violet. Sharkboy vs Lavagirl, omg
  • everyone’s hair is so Extra in this version
  • the d a n c i n g
  • Les Rois du Monde. Just that song/scene
  • everyone looks like MCR Killjoys era, and the general visual and musical theme is like, Mad Max if governments still existed
  • everyone! is so! gorgeous! and amazing!
  • i just love Juliette a lot in this version, okay?
  • dialogue updated to more modern language (as far as my subtitle-reading self can tell) and it works really well
  • nobody cares about Romeo’s lonely soul because everyone is too busy TEARING UP VERONA IN SYNCHRONIZED DANCE STEPS

okay, so I’m a bit biased. I think you should watch both! Definitely, you should watch the French version, because it’s amazing and original!  but actually, if you’re going to only watch one of them, you should watch the Hungarian version because:

  • Bereczki Zoltán
  • Benvolio is like 97% more Personality in this version
  • T H E DANCING
  • alas, the color-coding is not nearly as obvious, but do not fear, because the hair is cranked up to 300% to make up for it
  • idk if this was a mistranslation or if this is genuinely the closest English meaning to match the Hungarian, but somewhere in the middle of a really serious song, Romeo says something like “my buddies, my friends” and I can’t stop laughing
  • Juliet is so pretty and cute and she’s just so excited to fall in love! and meet someone who is cute and nice and wants to kiss her!
  • if you didn’t already ship R&J you’re freaking going to now they’re so cute i’m literally covering my face with my hands and squealing
  • pretty much every time Benvolio and Mercutio are sharing the stage, I cannot stop smiling
  • this Romeo is like Romeo+Hamlet. he’s all introspective and premonitions of doom, so it punches you in the feels that much harder when it turns out he’s RIGHT
  • the Montagues are a pack of young, feral, hedonistic, heathens and it’s fantastic
  • TYBALT
  • frickin’ Tybalt
  • the serious parts are actually serious, and they’ll tear you up, let me say. if you didn’t feel feelings about the deaths and the suicides before, you will while watching this musical
  • (those last 6 are true of the French version, too, I just stuck them in here because I’m biased)
  • this link really says it all tbh: http://indigo-night-wisp.tumblr.com/post/94954703234/theghostparty-to-reign-in-hell
  • Bereczki Zoltán
  • he bears repeating
