The San Diego Chargers have taken this giant hunk of meat to protect QB Philip Rivers 11th in the 2013 Draft. Right Tackle Dj Fluker, out of Alabama, isn’t so much a bad choice, it’s a good choice actually, but the Chargers are really going to be a mostly passing team by keeping RB Ryan Mathews as their full time back.

Maybe Fluker can help keep those hard hits off both his new teammates.

CHARGERS SIGN FIRST-ROUND PICK D.J. FLUKER – The San Diego Chargers have signed first-round (11th overall) draft pick D.J. Fluker to a four-year contract, ESPN’s NFL insider Adam Schefter reports. Financial terms of the contract are unknown.

Fluker was a three-year starter at right tackle for the Alabama Crimson Tide and was a member of two national championship teams.
