My weekend crochet project: inspired by a @sciviknit reblog of a flask (#science#knitting), I crocheted this for my daughter’s fiancé. So excited how it turned out! The timing is great, too, since he recently received a science award for most valuable student. (I’m so proud of him!!) I think he’ll like - reckon? 🤗
Hi Michelle, would you be so kind to let us know which skin care ingredients should not be used together? For instance, I've read that niacinamide shouldn't be used with Vitamin C for whatever reason.. would greatly appreciate it, thank you so much for always being so gracious, thorough and informative ❤️
Hello, good questions!
Vitamin C and Niacinamide are fine to use together, it can create a reaction which is usually a bad thing but in this instance it’s fine. If you are experiencing a reaction then let one product dry before applying the other. For a more scientific explanation see here.
Ingredients not to mix
Vitamin C shouldn’t be mixed withmost AHA’s/BHA’s/acids (lactic, glycolic, etc). AHA’s destabilize Vitamin C because they change the PH level and Vitamin C is a very vulnerable ingredient and requires specific PH levels to work efficiently. If you are a Vitamin C lover i’d recommend searching for the freshest doses available, things that come in one use pipets or ampoules. Vitamin C usually loses it’s efficiency when exposed to light or oxygen. Look for Vitamin C products like Clinique Fresh Pressed Vitamin C Daily Booster, this product is exposed to very little light and oxygen even when using. Try to avoid products with Vitamin C that require lots of opening like a cream and stick to serums that pump out product.
Avoidmixing Retinol with Benzoyl Peroxide/any acne treatments because they counteract each other’s benefits. Both products are also irritants and can cause peeling on their own, so using them together can cause major irritation especially on sensitive skin. Benzoyl Peroxide does work really well however with Salicylic and Glycolic Acid, so anyone with acne should steer towards these ingredients.
Ingredients to mix
As listed above, Benzoyl Peroxide goes well with Glycolic and Salicylic Acid. Great to know for anyone out there with acne prone skin, make sure your skin care routine has these ingredients. This can be a bit drying so it’s best for oily, acne prone skin. Think 16 year old skin.
Retinol and Ferulic Acid. Ferulic acid is an antioxidant that helps with sun damage (good because Retinol makes your skin more prone to sum damage).
Retinol and Vitamin C. These two are both amazing for anti aging. Vitamin C is a tricky product to get right so you want to find vitamin c products that really keep it fresh and being able to use the product up asap. The longer vitamin C sits out the less effective it becomes. Always buy it in dark/non glass bottles and keep it out of light! Vitamin A, C and E all work great together. Vitamin A = Retinol.
Vitamin C and Vitamin E. As explained above, Vitamin A, C and E are all besties. These are all antioxidants and protect your skin from the elements, keeping it looking youthful.
Retinol and AHA’s/BHA’s. This is usually viewed asa no go, and if you have sensitive skin then this might be too a little too intense. Retinol is not an exfoliant like AHA’s/BHA’s and Retinol could use the help of exfoliation to work even better. However this can be a little intense on the skin. You shouldn’t be using retinol every night anyway but listen to your skin if you’re experiencing irritation. See more explanation on Retinol here.
Retinol and Hyaluronic Acid. Retinol is known to be drying so follow up with a good moisturizing products especially ones that keep water/hydrating into the skin like Hyaluronic Acid. They work together to keep skin young and plump!
Hey so I just checked the Candian Forces page about hair and it said this: "Aboriginal members may request to wear long hair or braids while on-duty, but only if there are no safety concerns." I know Lotor isn't Aboriginal and this IS an AU but hey, might give you some ideas or something. (Members are also allowed to wear their hair in Turbans, but I mainly sent this ask as an excuse to pit the idea of Lotor with braids in your head.)
Ohh!! that’s actually really cool!

Everything for you Nate! <3
So Noora is the beautiful cross between a femme and a butch, and she enjoys calling herself futch. She’ll take Eva’s flannels and tucks them into her high waisted jeans, and then apply the perfect matte lipstick to match it all;
She still feels a bit guilty about the comp het that made her go through her first boyfriend and then through William and managed to really fuck her up in the meantime. She has a hard time coming to terms with the fact that she was supposed to be an educated feminist girl, and she didn’t see the glaring red flags;
(When it gets bad, she goes to Eva, and Eva hugs her without saying anything, rocks her a bit and they fall asleep in the same bed;)
She still has a lot of internalised lesbophobia and has to consciously stop herself from feeling creepy every time she likes a girl, but she’s also really good at that and she knows there’s nothing wrong with her;
And sometimes she goes to gay bars with Eskild and flirts with girls drinking a Shirley Temple. She feels so free while she does it, because it’s allowed, because they like her;
She has a great friendship with Vilde; they talk a lot, they started talking when they both came out as lesbians and they never really stopped talking. Noora started out on a rocky road with her, but now Vilde’s one of the most important people in her life, and she wouldn’t want to have it otherwise;
Similarily, she also has a great relationship with Isak; she couldn’t believe it at first, because Isak was the grumpy boy who avoided her when she got home from London, but now they’re the bestest of study mates, always striving for that 6, and after having finished studying, they smoke one together;
(She became quite a bit pothead because fuck alcohol, that’s not for her, but the relaxation that comes with weed is something she likes a lot;)
The last Halloween party she went, she was dressed as a Straight People, with a wife beater and a snapback. Isak actually pretended to get offended;
There was someone else who got offended that she was stereotyping straight people;
Noora and Vilde literally murdered him;
She reads so much lesbian literature, like so much; she buys everything she can get her hands on, both fiction and non-fiction, and when she doesn’t have anything to read, she gets straight to the academic essays;
Same with films and tv shows. It doesn’t have lesbians? She doesn’t trust it;
She has the hugest crush on Eva, but since Eva’s her best friend, she’s afraid to tell her because she thinks it’ll ruin their friendship;
When she tells that to Vilde, Vilde scrunches up her nose and goes that’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard and then proceeds to be a hassle till Noora actually decides to confess her feelings to Eva;
When she confesses her feelings to Eva, her heart is beating so hard that she actually doesn’t hear the positive response at first, and she’s a bit shocked when Eva kisses her;
(Also after a while that they’re dating they discover that they’re both in love with Vilde, and their couple becomes a triad. K? K;)
And she’ll live happily ever after lesbianing in downtown Oslo with her beautiful girlfriends.
