These are my personal favorite recipes that I use on a regular basis!
Sugar Body Scrub- Mix a ½ cup of white sugar, ¾ cup of brown sugar, a couple of tablespoons of olive oil (or whatever oil you have in your house, and vanilla extract or essence! Smells great and exfoliates while also moisturizing!!
Salt Scrub- Mix 1 cup of salt with ¼ cup of coconut oil, and add a few drops of essential oil if desired! More abrasive than sugar for people with tougher skin- good for exfoliating feet!
All Purpose hair mask- Mix ½ cup of olive oil (I find it works the best on the widest variety of hair types, my own included) with ¼ cup of honey. Heat and stir until combined, but don’t boil. Pour into a container and let cool until it is warm to the touch. Apply the warm mixture to dry hair and put on a shower cap. Leave for 15-20 minutes, then rinse out. BE CAREFUL, the oil will make your tub/shower VERY SLIPPERY. Use shampoo to get the excess oil out of your hair, and clean the tub or shower so nobody falls!!!
Leave on the hair 45mn under plastic bag or shower cap.
Avocados, much like eggs, are a very rich source of vitamin A and antioxidants all great for hair, especially if damaged.
Greek yogurt, or really any yogurt is a great for hair because it restores moisture and strengthens the hair all in one shot. The enzymes in yogurt are also known to relieve an itchy scalp and combat dandruff.
Olive oil its one of the top emollients that can penetrate the hair better than others, and its lightweight nature makes it great for moisturizing. It also contains anti-inflammatory properties that promote scalp health and prevent dandruff. Extra virgin olive oil is also rich in high levels of mono-unsaturated fatty acids and vitamin E, an antioxidant important for hair growth.
In this one I’m sharing how I do my hot oil/pre poo treatment and how I easily turn it into a deep conditioning treatment when needed. This treatment is great for all hair types and definitely caters to dry, frizzy, or damaged hair. Applying this treatment to your hair routine regularly will give noticeable improvement in hair growth, a healthy scalp, moisturized hair, and length retention.
It’s no secret, coconut oil for hair has been a true blessing for women wanting to bring their damaged curls back to bouncy life.
Many things can cause your hair to look bad. Straightening your hair too often of even an illness can cause your hair to lose its life and luster. If your hair ever looks dull or starts feeling brittle or straw-like, this new coconut oil and honey hair recipe works wonders and usually only after using it twice, you can have your bouncy curls back and have hair that looks ready for any beauty magazine photo shoot. I recommend this to ANYONE with damaged/fuzzy hair, undefined curls. So many ladies who are new to this hair revitalization method are absolutely AMAZED to see the quick and gorgeous results.
Coconut Oil & Honey Hair Mask
What You’ll Need:
•3 tbs extra virgin coconut oil
•1.5 tbs honey
•2 egg yolks (optional if you need protein)
•Hair Therapy Wrap or a heated towel. ( I prefer a heated towel)
•A few drops of essential oil for fragrance (optional)
•Melt the coconut oil in the microwave for a few seconds – Don’t cook it, just melt it.
•Pour the coconut oil into a bowl, add the honey, and mix. (You may have to work at it, as the two don’t easily mix.)
• Add the essential oil at this point if you wish. (The mask does not smell bad if you don’t add any fragrance!)
•Apply the (still hot) mixture to your wet hair from ends to roots.
•Put on your Hair Therapy Wrap, alternatively you can warm a towel in the microwave and wrap your hair in it.
•Wait 45 minutes, or for really damaged hair you can leave the treatment in overnight (just wear a shower cap)
One thing to note:
Coconut oil can make tubs and floors very slippery! It will drip, even with a shower cap on, so be careful. Also, if you take a bath while the coconut oil hair mask is absorbing, some of the oil will make its way into the tub, giving your skin a hydrating treatment. Remember, using coconut oil for hair is only one of its MANY uses, besides using it for conditioning and hair growth treatments, using coconut oil for skin and face brings many beauty benefits like soft younger looking skin. But avoid using it on your face if your skin is naturally oily.
Put that shit on your arms and legs.
Rub some onto the ends of your hair.
Use it as shaving gel for a smooth ass bod
Cook your veggies all up in it
use it as lip gloss I swear
SHOULDERS ELBOWS KNEES
It’s bomb as hell and it’s so diverse
As you all may know bleaching your hair damages your hair, some have more damaged hair than others and some have less damaged hair but still, your hair will be in a death state if you don’t use the right things. My hair got very damaged lately and I wanted to do anything I could to bring it to a decent state. I tried many products, I really did and I ended up to one conclusion: coconut oil is the only answer to bleached damaged hair. It’s seriously pointless to waste money on all those hair products you see in drugstores because believe me when I say that most of them are just sh*t, PLUS coconut oil is very cheap so it’s a win win situation!
Of course coconut oil won’t be enough to keep your hair healthy and back to normal but it sure helps the process. Here’s what I did:
I went to a chinese food shop downtown and bought a 500mL coconut oil jar (yes, the one used for cooking), when i got home i brushed my hair and applied the oil on dry hair from my roots to my ends, wrapped the whole thing with foil and a towel and then left it on my head for more than two hours (since the moment it has to stay in your hair for at least two hours). After that I shamphooed my hair twice with a normal shamphoo to remove the oil untill I didn’t feel my hair greasy anymore then used conditioner as usual. When I blow-dried my hair I immediately realized that my hair was SO much softer, I almost had tears of joy. The only cons of this is that the oil will fall on your neck and face this is why you’ll have to always have a towel around your neck to remove the dripping oil. The perfect way to do this is to leave the coconut oil on your head a whole night and I sure will try this when the weather will be warmer and when I’ll be ready to cover my bed with towels, untill then I’ll keep leaving it on my head for 2 to 3 hours.
Oh! This remedy is not only for bleached hair! If your hair feels dry and dead you must have to try this aswell! Coconut oil gives the hair all the proteins it has lost due to various reasons (heat tools, weather, bad diet ecc). Try it! You will not regret it!
