As you all may know bleaching your hair damages your hair, some have more damaged hair than others and some have less damaged hair but still, your hair will be in a death state if you don’t use the right things. My hair got very damaged lately and I wanted to do anything I could to bring it to a decent state. I tried many products, I really did and I ended up to one conclusion: coconut oil is the only answer to bleached damaged hair. It’s seriously pointless to waste money on all those hair products you see in drugstores because believe me when I say that most of them are just sh*t, PLUS coconut oil is very cheap so it’s a win win situation!
Of course coconut oil won’t be enough to keep your hair healthy and back to normal but it sure helps the process. Here’s what I did:
I went to a chinese food shop downtown and bought a 500mL coconut oil jar (yes, the one used for cooking), when i got home i brushed my hair and applied the oil on dry hair from my roots to my ends, wrapped the whole thing with foil and a towel and then left it on my head for more than two hours (since the moment it has to stay in your hair for at least two hours). After that I shamphooed my hair twice with a normal shamphoo to remove the oil untill I didn’t feel my hair greasy anymore then used conditioner as usual. When I blow-dried my hair I immediately realized that my hair was SO much softer, I almost had tears of joy. The only cons of this is that the oil will fall on your neck and face this is why you’ll have to always have a towel around your neck to remove the dripping oil. The perfect way to do this is to leave the coconut oil on your head a whole night and I sure will try this when the weather will be warmer and when I’ll be ready to cover my bed with towels, untill then I’ll keep leaving it on my head for 2 to 3 hours.
Oh! This remedy is not only for bleached hair! If your hair feels dry and dead you must have to try this aswell! Coconut oil gives the hair all the proteins it has lost due to various reasons (heat tools, weather, bad diet ecc). Try it! You will not regret it!
The adventures of me trying to DIY bleach my sweater pt.1.
I wanted to start with a logo before trying more and chose this one.
Everything went well until i saw that damn bleed out of the lightnings (left) from the mic. Of course something had to go wrong haha (i hope i can fix them somehow)
The mic and podcast font isn’t finished yet. I need to draw them by brush strokes.
It’s the first layer of bleach, so the logo is pretty dark atm (kinda rusty red). I am going to wash it, then bleach again until the logo is white-ish. Then i ’ll add some splatter, drops etc around it, maybe even dip dye/bleach.
So I’m not sure about you all, but I always get bored within a couple of weeks of summer break! So I’ve basically compiled a bunch of really awesome videos I found on youtube (not gonna lie, LaurDIY was super helpful with this) and almost all of them are pretty reasonably priced, and you can make a bunch of cool stuff(:
EDIT: If any DIYS have a * on them, it just means that It’s a new thing I added(:
If you do try any of it out, be sure to submit me the pictures so I can see!
But HOW do lesbians always know? Is there a way I can let them know more ?
to let know more: shorter hair, diy haircut, bleached or dyed, facial piercings, mom jeans, boots, flannel, leather jacket, denim jacket, rolled up sleeves, cuffed pants, thrifted tshirt with graphics that dont make sense, not traditionally pretty makeup like red lip no other makeup or smeared eyeliner or eyeshadow, weird/tacky thrifted clothing in general, bob or shorter hair lenght, dad hats, oversized clothing especially sweaters, and ofcourse the obvious flannel but thats appropriated by straight girls just like beanies
First of all what is purple shampoo ? Before getting into the bleach world I didn’t even know such thing existed, I only used shampoos to wash my hair and that’s it. The first time I bleached my hair my hair was a orange/brassy ugly color and I had to wait a whole month to bleach it again so I was stuck with that yellow head. Since the moment I’m very stubborn I did my researches and I found out this weird thing called purple shampoo.
Purple shampoo is a shampoo that fights yellow tones in your hair thanks to its dark pruple color, you should leave it on for 5-10 minutes, if you leave it on your hair for more than that it will give you a lilac/grey color to your hair which is cool for someone crazy like me but if you just want it to tone down the yellow just follow what the packaging says.
My first purple shampoo ever was the FUDGE CLEAN BLONDE Violet Toning shampoo, I was looking for a good one and on the internet everyone said it was the best one ever and they were absolutelyr right. I used this shampoo when my hair was orange and it turned my hair a cute hashy blonde color, just beautiful (notice: i kept it on my head for 20 minutes or more). Another good thing about this shampoo is the smell, gosh it smells amazing!
I am very curious so just one purple shampoo was obviously not enough for me so I also got the L’Oreal SILVER and the Bleach London SILVER SHAMPOO, both of them are good, the L’Oreal one gives you a perfect silver shade, no matter how long you keep it on, while the Bleach London shampoo leaves you a blue-ish color if you leave it on more than what it’s written in the directions.
The CONS of purple shampoos are that it will dry your hair so much but you just have to use a good hair mask or a good conditioner after using it and you’ll be fine!
L’Oreal Silver: 9 €
Fudge Violet Toning Shampoo: 30£ (1L bottle)
Bleach London SILVER SHAMPOO: 5£
