A long time ago, I met a friend
who lives quite far away
Despite the dark, brooding me
he’s always there to brighten the day

That’s the kind he is, old and wise
bringing smiles and hopeful greets
By any means, it was no surprise
the love passed never depletes

One thing we shared was a fascination
for the angelic and all things divine
On rare nights of moons by fate or chance
our thoughts of poetry would combine

For all that he is, I thank the stars,
I thank whoever made his soul
Despite his own two wings be torn,
the light he shines has a greater role
