Books I loved in 2013

So tell me your favorites?

buryme12feetdeep-deactivated201  asked:

Wow, you really love Patrick Ness, huh? :D I've never read his stuff or even heard of him, but the quotes are intriguing.

More Than This by Patrick Ness was one of my favourite reads from 2013! I really enjoyed the writing style and I found the book really interesting and unique. I rarely get to buy and read a book right after it’s been released - I have a bad habit of buying new releases but then deciding to read an older book. I’ve really enjoyed looking back over my copy recently. I actually hadn’t realised that I’d marked out so many quotes, this book really struck a cord with me.

I also read The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness last year, which is the first book in a trilogy called Chaos Walking. I picked it up as part of #readchaos here on Tumblr, it was wonderfully organised by prettybooks and distantheartbeats. There’s a great post here about it if you’re interested in reading up about it. I plan on reading the rest of the series in the first half of this year. Another well-known book by Ness is A Monster Calls, which I read in December.

I adore this book so damn much, but this bit did make me *headdesk*

Yes, yes! Bernardo Soares is my [slightly more emo] spirit animal. But the “anthology section,” and this gem! I was giggling so hard. Especially this one: “The best time for doing this is in the days immediately preceding menstruation.” Hihihi.

Follow Forever 1/3

I did a Follow Forever post last year and since then I’ve come across many other brilliant blogs so the last year’s post is a bit outdated which means a follow forever post is due. I follow lots of blogs (which are all awesome!) so this is going to be in parts; here’s part one featuring the amazing people I follow:
