Sometimes I wanna cry and then I just try to imagine us 5 years down the line with a cute apartment and a dog and a soft couch with lots of pillows and throw blankets. We can cuddle any night of the week and make dinner together and turn on films but not actually watch them. We can throw popcorn at each other whenever we please and we can make cookies together at 2:30am if that’s what we wanna do. The distance is only temporary. We have the rest of our lives to live together. It’ll be okay.
Yoongi wiped his sweaty palms along his ripped jeans and shook his head, struggling to manage his group of friends.
“Namjoon, you speak English and you can’t get this right?” he complained, stomping his foot. When the members had asked to traipse to a different country with him, he immediately got a knot deep in his stomach. He would essentially need to plan on surprising you, whilst babysitting six grown men.
Surely if he kept them busy with trying to help with said surprise, it wouldn’t be so bad.
Yoongi began to rethink everything as he stood in front of the members, crossing his arms, and pursing his lips. He looked along the line of them, each of them holding a poster with a specific word.
“The” “is” “temporary” “only” “babe” “distance”
“I didn’t know I was voted English ambassador for this trip,” Namjoon grumbled, looking at all of the boys as well.
“You’re always English ambassador! You are literally the only member who knows English!” Jin gasped.
“I speak English very good,” Hoseok said, his language broken and fragmented. He smiled at himself as he wiggled his shoulders.
“Aish, just rearrange yourselves,” Yoongi sighed, rubbing a hand along his forehead. At least all of their signs faced in the same direction.
“Don’t worry, hyung,” Jimin said cheerfully. “We’ll get it right before she gets here.”
“When is she getting here?” Taehyung asked, raising an eyebrow lazily as he looked down at his own sign.
“It’s only six words, surely it shouldn’t be this difficult,” Namjoon muttered to himself as he drug Jungkook by the shoulder to a new position. He nodded as he placed him in his designated spot and moved on to Jin.
Yoongi looked down at his watch and furrowed his brows. “She’s already here-”
“Fine, when does she get out of class?” Taehyung interrupted as Namjoon tugged him toward Jungkook by his hood.
“She gets out of class at noon,” Yoongi nodded. “Then she usually face times me from the lobby of the library at fifteen after.”
“And that’s when we strike!” Hoseok smiled.
“If by strike, you mean hold up our signs in the direction of the library, then yes,” Namjoon sighed, stepping backwards and looking at the signs in a row.
“Switch Jin and Jimin,” Yoongi sighed, biting on his lip as he checked his watch again. It was five after noon.
“Do you have your flowers?” Jin asked, looking around curiously.
“Aish,” Yoongi hissed, patting at his pockets for the keys to the rental car. “They’re in the car.”
Jungkook looked up with wide eyes. “They need water hyung. They’re going to die.”
“We literally got them on the way here Kookie,” Jimin muttered, giving his dongsaeng a side eye.
“But like…that still doesn’t…” Jungkook trailed, completely lost.
“Okay, in place,” Namjoon nodded, taking his spot between Jimin and Taehyung.
“Don’t move,” Yoongi hissed, finally locating the keys in his sweater pocket. “I’ll be right back.”
Yoongi sprinted (which should have been an indication of how much he loved you) back to the vehicle. He located the minivan parked in front of the Science building rather easily, as it was the only thing bigger than a sedan. He found the sunflowers half crumpled in the backseat where Namjoon had left them. He adjusted the petals and stems to stand with a bit more pep and straightened his sweater. He could do this.
He shut the car door just as his phone began to ring, causing him to jump. He was about ten yards away from the boys and even further from the library than he would’ve liked for this moment to happen, but he couldn’t just ignore the call.
“Hey jagi!” Yoongi said, keeping the phone close to his face as to not give up his surroundings.
“Hey,” you smiled. “Um…why are you out of breath? Did you have practice today?”
“Something like that,” Yoongi nodded. He hated lying to you, even a small white lie plaguing his conscience.
“Something like that?” you asked skeptically. What did that even mean? “So should I not ask you how practice went if that’s not what you were doing?”
“You can ask,” Yoongi nodded, a smirk on his face. “Doesn’t mean I’ll have an answer.”
“Why are you being so weird?” you grumbled. “Like more weird than normal? Uncharacteristically weird.”
“I’m not being weird, you’re being weird,” Yoongi muttered, his eyes searching beyond your face on the cell phone screen and to something before him.
“Yah! Hurry up! It’s 12:15!” a voice you recognized to by Namjoon’s called.
“Yah! Are you hanging out with the guys?” you asked, instantly smiling. Yoongi’s members had become something like brothers to you in the few years you had been dating. You didn’t get to see any of them very often, but when you did, they always felt like home. “What do you have to do at 12:15?”
“I don’t know,” Yoongi grinned. “Why don’t you look out the window and find out?”
“What the hell does that even mean?” you spat, shaking your head. That was it. Yoongi had officially lost it.
“Are you in the library?” Yoongi asked, his face patient.
“You know I am. I always call you from the library lobby. It has the best wifi,” you chuckled. “But only the second floor one. That’s where the cafe is so people don’t give you dirty looks if you’re on your phone.”
“Thanks for all of the excess information,” Yoongi laughed. “Could you please just look out of the window now?”
“Why do you want me to - oh my god,” you gasped, your hand instantly flying over your mouth. Beneath you, a few yards away in the quad, just before the student union, were seven faces you hadn’t seen in months. You squinted looking at the posters each of them held with beaming smiles on their faces.
“The” “distance” “is” “only” “temporary” “babe”
Yoongi stood at the end of the group, a large bouquet of sunflowers in his hand. You don’t think you had ever seen him smiling so brightly.
You took the stairs two at a time even though you had sworn off using anything but the elevator. What could you say, you considered yourself Yoongi’s perfect match for more than one reason.
You sprinted through the first floor lobby, the librarian attempting to stop or slow your motion several times before you sprang past the metal detectors and through the front doors. You didn’t even bother looking as you ran across the road and onto the parallel sidewalk, nearly out of breath before you got to Yoongi.
“The distance is only temporary, babe,” Yoongi cooed, thrusting the flowers out toward you. He turned around, nodding to the boys behind him. They nodded as well before flipping their signs to the opposite side.
“It’s” “a” “forever” “kind” “of” “thing”
You grinned as you winked at Taehyung, his sign upside down. Namjoon elbowed him, thrusting his chin out to signify his mistake. Taehyung gasped before righting his sign and smiled back happily at you.
“Because it’s a forever kind of thing,” Yoongi smiled, reaching out to pull you into his arms.
“How long did it take you to come up with six word sentences?” you teased, your lips near his ear.
“Longer than I would like to admit,” Yoongi chuckled. “But it was worth it just to see that smile on your face.”

If you get to see your boyfriend/girlfriend whenever you want then don’t ever take that for granted. You don’t even realize how lucky you are. Having to part with your boyfriend/girlfriend for long periods of time after spending so little time together in real life is literally one of the hardest things ever. It feels like a part of you is being ripped away and there’s nothing you can do about it. Distance sucks so much but I’m just glad that it’s only temporary. Fuck you, distance.
Another long run, hoping to put distance between me and everything else. The farther, the better. Only problem is, the distance is just temporary, because no matter how far I go, I always have to come back.

I don’t realize how much I need to feel this summer in my bones until he shows up at my house at two in the morning, cheeks red and eyes puffy, hands covered in salt from wiping away the pain and mouth a rigid line that is trying so hard to be tough and failing so miserably.
sadness is so strange, but as i grow older, i’m beginning to realize that we need it. happiness is important, of course it is, but i need my negative quiet days just as much as i need my optimistic days. i’m sad a lot of the time, actually, and i’m beginning to be okay with that. it’s who i am at this point in my life and i know and am so sure that it’s only temporary. sadness of distance, yes, a very real thing. sadness of loss. sadness of knowing your parents are sad. or your grandmother. nephews and sisters and brothers. sadness of still being hungry when your mother clears the table of dishes. sadness of sunday evenings and daylight savings. sadness of the end of summer. sadness of grieving, which is sadness squared. sadness of goodbye. sadness of apology. sadness of pinch and pull and tired. sadness because sometimes there is nothing else and that’s okay. sadness because the promise of happiness. sadness because it is important to be sad and to let sadness be a part of you.
G'day! I’m Levi (with glasses) and this is my handsomely good looking fiancé, Alex (with the cute AF smile). I’m a nurse and I live in Australia and Alex is a retail manager from the United States. Currently we are in a long distance relationship but we know that it’s only temporary! He flew to see and surprise me for my 25th birthday in April 2015 and this was the first time we met. This man is my best friend, my rock and my P.I.C. I’ve learnt a lot about myself while being with him. In the very short two years we have been together, this man has shaped me to the person I am today. We FaceTime each other multiple times a day, even though we are in opposite time zones (his’ days are my nights) and have other priorities, we always make time for each other. We also have dates! We watch movies together and FaceTime each other when we go out, and even when we eat at restaurants! I am so in love with this man and I can’t wait for the day we are finally living together. Bring on 2017! @bemyescape579
A/N: my girls @scoundrelswan and @imnotthesavior were giving ourselves even more feels over last night’s episode, including super feelsy headcanon situations, one of which this fic is based off of.
Post-5b speculation fic with CS angst and a glimmer of hope.
Finding sleep is still near impossible for him most nights. A luxury he lost for weeks as the darkness took root in him, still just out of reach even now. Nightmares plague his mind regularly, startling him back awake with a low gasp and sweat beading along his brow. Thankful that his actions aren’t enough to wake the woman next to him, curled up on her side of the bed, inches still between them.
He and Emma may share a house and a bed most nights, but there is still a distance between them. Wounds that still need healing and events that refuse to fade into memories. Terrible deeds done, even worse words spoken, hearts broken. (He’s the guiltier party, the self-loathing always stronger in him.) It will be a long process, but neither of them have given up hope just yet. They might be afraid, feeling unworthy of their partner’s love, but both are aware that they simply cannot live without the other and refuse to do so.
