Disney Songs in German

Disney songs from some popular Disney films dubbed in german! Music is a brilliant way to immerse yourself in your target language, and what better way than the Disney way? Many of these songs are from our childhoods, so it’s some nice nostalgic immersion.

*The english titles next to the german is not necessarily a translation, but rather the english title. Also the year next to the title of the film is the year that the initial english film was released, not necessarily when it was released or dubbed in german.

Some notes: I apologize if your favourite Disney film or song didn’t make the list, I definitely didn’t get all of them. Maybe a part 2 is in order? Also, I tried my best to find videos that had subtitles and a translation, but unfortunately not all of them have it. You can always do a quick google search if you want the lyrics and/or english translation. Be sure to check the descriptions as well, some of them have the lyrics in there. Some videos are better or worse quality than others, but they’re all generally listenable.

I’d also like to give a huge thanks and credit to the creators who translated and subtitled these videos! They did all the work, afterall.

Enjoy!

Mulan (1998)

Pocahontas (1995)

Dornröschen [Sleeping Beauty] (1959)

Tarzan (1999)

Cinderella (1950)

Note: While the german name for ‘Cinderella’ is ‘Aschenputtel’, she goes by Cinderella in the german-dubbed Disney version. Aschenputtel is also an alternative title to the film.

Aristocats (1970)

Schneewittchen und die sieben Zwerge [Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs] (1937)

Note: Disney’s Snow White has been re-dubbed a couple times in german for some reason, so the particular year a song is from may differ from another. They’re all from the same movie though.

Arielle, die Meerjungfrau [The Little Mermaid] (1989)

Note: Same situation as Snow White.

Aladdin (1992)

Der König der Löwen [The Lion King] (1994)

Der König der Löwen 2 – Simbas Königreich [The Lion King II: Simba’s Pride] (1998)

Küss den Frosch [The Princess and the Frog] (2009)

Rapunzel – Neu Verföhnt [Tangled] (2010)

Die Eiskönigin – Völlig Unverfroren [Frozen] (2013)

Das Dschungelbuch [The Jungle Book] (1967)

Alice im Wunderland [Alice in Wonderland] (1951)

Hercules (1997)

The beautifully restored classic games feature crisp 1080p HD support and include all-new modes that can be enjoyed by first-time players and long-time fans. The Disney Afternoon Collection will be available as a digital download across North America and Europe for $19.99 / £15.99 / €19.99 starting on April 18, 2017 on PlayStation®4 computer entertainment system, Xbox One and Windows PC.

Players will be able to relive their childhood afternoons with Disney and explore these pieces of gaming history with classics including:

  • Chip ‘n Dale Rescue Rangers 2 – Fat Cat has escaped and his plans are even more dastardly this time. The titular heroes and supporting cast Monterey Jack, Gadget, and Zipper must stop Fat Cat from his evil dream of world domination!
  • Darkwing Duck – Play as the original caped crusader and fight a city full of criminals from the infamous F.O.W.L. organization in this action-packed platforming epic.
  • DuckTales – In this iconic platforming adventure, players help Scrooge McDuck fill his feathery pockets with vast riches from across the world.
  • DuckTales 2 – The sequel to the original game comes jam-packed with more action and an even bigger caper set in new locations like the Bermuda Triangle and Niagara Falls!
  • TaleSpin – Take to the skies as Baloo the bear navigates his plane through exotic and dangerous locations in this side-scrolling shoot-em-up.

All six games are new and improved HD versions of the originals and feature a number of filtering options that replicate a classic retro look and feel. This collection also offers new ways to play with Boss Rush and Time Attack modes for each game. In Boss Rush mode, players battle through challenging boss encounters consecutively, while Time Attack mode encourages time-based gameplay and provides online leaderboards that track the fastest times for each game. A new “Rewind” feature makes these challenging titles more accessible for newcomers, with the option to rewind time and enjoy a swift recovery from blunders. Additionally, the in-game Disney Museum will provide history buffs with a wealth of content to celebrate the era of the original releases, such as concept art, advertisements, character art, and music – all preserved in their original glory.

I decided to compile some Disney inspired prompts! Other drabbles are still gonna be worked on (don’t worry), but since I absolutely love Disney, I figured why not!

Send me a # or two and a character and I’ll write something up for you :)

32. “All right! We did not die today, I call that an unqualified success.”

33. “I’d rather die tomorrow than live 100 years without knowing you.”

55. “You’re only in trouble if you get caught.”

56. “Sometimes it’s better to be alone. Nobody can hurt you.”

57. “I just want you to be happy. Whatever you decide, you will always be my son.”

58. “Never fear the shadows, they simply mean there’s a light shining somewhere nearby.”

59. “I want adventure in the great wide somewhere.”

60. “I have made the decision to trust you.“ "A horrible decision really.”

63. “You are my greatest adventure.”

64. “Our fate lives within us. You only have to be brave enough to see it.”

65. “Sire I’ve been looking for you everywhere!” “What a coincidence Lawrence! I have been avoiding you everywhere!”

What a wild ride.

Disney songs in Arabic

More Disney songs! This time in Arabic~

Some notes: I tried my best to find the correct Arabic title, but it’s possible that there may be an error or two. If you notice, I couldn’t even find an Arabic title for some of the songs, so I apologize for that! But again, I did try my best. Most of these are Egyptian Arabic, but there are a few MSA versions scattered throughout. The english titles next to the Arabic is not necessarily a translation, but rather the english title. I apologize if your favourite Disney film or song didn’t make the list, I definitely didn’t get all of them. Also, I tried my best to find videos that had subtitles and a translation, but unfortunately not all of them have it. You can always do a quick google search if you want the lyrics and/or english translation.

I’d also like to give a huge thanks and credit to the creators who translated and subtitled these videos! They did all the work, afterall.

i wouldn’t recommend those extremely early comics, mainly because of the absolutely staggering amounts of ~wacky child abuse and ~wackier racism, but i’ve been noticing a few themes that are constantly recycled throughout them, and now i’m wondering if these are things barks is unusually fixated on or if they’re the forties’ version of cartoon tropes

  • there are so many horses, in general, everybody travels by horse, but there are at least three stories specifically about trying to tame a horse
  • same for ski races, including one water ski race to shake things up
  • same for quests about getting a picture of something rare and selling it
  • getting hit on the head and undergoing a drastic personality change
  • AT LEAST TWELVE OUT OF FORTY STORIES WERE ONE OF THESE
  • AND YOU CAN ALWAYS TELL THAT IT’S GONNA BE ONE OF THEM BY THE VERY FIRST PAGE

Jhené Aiko is one of many big names recreating classic Disney songs for a compilation album titled “We Love Disney”, set to come out Oct. 30th 2015. This song was an excellent choice. Her voice is so dreamy, and the overall theme goes well with her because we know how open and free her mind is. So listen and get lost in Jhené Aiko’s world.
