Last night before falling asleep, I prayed to Hethert. I felt her usual happy, bubbly presence. I relaxed a little and after a while I got a vision of a goddess cradling me in her arms. She was wearing a red gown, gold bracelets and armbands and no headdress, she was absolutely gorgeous. Her energy felt different than Hethert’s so I asked her who she was. She just hushed me. She felt contented, very motherly, and deeply soothing. It felt like she was full of wisdom, like she has existed for an extremely long time. I fell asleep with the vision of being in her arms.
After waking I did a reading to ask if it was Hethert and received a “no.” I have no idea who she could be, but I hope she comes back.

Warning(s): Cheating mentioned
Cheater. Who would have ever thought that your first boyfriend would cheat on you? You saw people get cheated on in movies and stories but to have it actually happen in real life seemed almost so fake?
Your ex, Jung Hae, was a pretty possessive boyfriend after three months of dating each other. When you two initially got together, everything was like cotton candy. Sweet. Fun. Light. You could say that was the best part of your relationship.
However as time passed on, you noticed Jung Had would easily get upset when you were with your guy friends. Especially your best friend, Jungkook.
Jungkook had always been by your side since college started since you guys were from the same course.
You even got to become close with these other group of guys Taehyung and Jimin. They were also taking the same course.
“(Y/N)-ah! Do you want to join our group for this project? We haven’t done one together in a while—"
"Ya (y/n), come join us.” Jung Hae hollered at your rather rudely. Annoyed at his tone, you replied, “Jungkook already asked me though—”
Jung Hae got up and walked up to the group. “Hey guys,” he tried to feign friendliness but even you could tell there was a hidden threat underneath his tone. “Can (y/n) join my group this time for this project?"
"S-Sure.” Jungkook shrugged.
“It’s not like she has a choice anyway.” He muttered under his breath which earned him a nudge from Jimin.
Thankfully Jung Hae didn’t hear that and brought you over to their table.
You had lesser time to spend with the three guys and you were pretty sad about that since they were your other closest friends besides your boyfriend at that period.
A few weeks later, Jung Hae told you he had signed up for the camp his other friend persuaded him to go and you were pretty excited for him since he wasn’t the type to go for camps.
You hoped this could be a start of a good change.
Well, you were right about having a change.
Jung Hae seemed so happy during the camp when he posted pictures and videos on Snapchat. One thing that was bothering you was that he was always with girls. “What is he trying to do??” Jungkook snatched your phone away as he looked at Jung Hae’s snapchat story.
“Jungkook it’s nothing. They’re just his group mates.” You tried to convince him.
“Right, tell that to yourself.” Jungkook scoffed.
“Why are you in such a bad mood all of a sudden."
"I’m not.” Jungkook stubbornly denied as he sat back on the sofa. “Yes. Yes you are.” You folded your arms across your chest. You were both at the common game room at the dorm area since you wanted to play some Just Dance earlier on during your break.
Jimin and Taehyung had gone to get snacks for the four of you and you were alone with your best friend Jungkook.
“Seriously (y/n)? It’s nothing. Why don’t you just go back to watching the snaps of your asshole of a boyfriend and get hurt over and over again!” Jungkook finally snapped and you were genuinely taken aback.
“I’m not hurt! He’s not even doing anything—”
“You know it is your first relationship I get that you might not be so ‘well-informed’ but you have got to be stupid for telling yourself that nothing fishy is going on from those snaps! He’s being too close with other girls and you’re okay with that??"
“I have guy friends too and he doesn't—"
"He doesn’t what? Get angry? Throw shade? Give you the silent treatment? Your boyfriend is bloody possessive and childish but you’re too caught up with the fact that he’s your first to face the truth! He’s not good for you (y/n)!"
"We have been dating for 5 months now and everything is going perfectly fine, I don’t see why you have to be concerned for me—”
Jungkook let out a frustrated chuckle as his hand ran through his hair in frustration. “God damn it (y/n)! Stop lying to yourself!"
You were silent.
You have never seen Jungkook so angry and concerned at the same time. You could see it just by looking into his eyes. You could tell it genuinely bothered him and he was very frustrated.
"Stop trying to be tough all the time (y/n)! You’ve got Taehyung, Jimin… Me! You can just let it out to me! I’ve been here the whole time waiting for you to just tell me anything! But you yourself know that you have just been tolerating with his acts the past 2 months of your relationship with him! It’s time to face it (y/n), he’s not good for you."
Jungkook’s tone had finally died down as he finished talking. He was breathing heavily from his outburst and after pouring out his suppressed thoughts.
"I just wanted to have a great relationship…” You muttered to yourself, not trusting your own voice as it could break any moment.
“Hey guys here are your snacks… D-Did we interrupt something?” Jimin and Taehyung stopped at the door to examine the tense situation in the game room.
“N-No you didn’t, i was just about to leave. I’m sorry, i’m not hungry i’ll go ahead—"
"I’m sorry Jungkook, i’ll talk to you guys later!” You said as you took your bag from the chair and dashed out of the game room to your dorm.
“What happened?” Jimin asked his friend. “You could say we… talked… about her boyfriend."
"Did you confess?” Taehyung asked and Jungkook shook his head. “I can’t use this situation to do that.”
“Then what are you going to do?”
Jungkook just shrugged, “Stay by her side, no matter how stupid she is.” He chuckled to himself.
When Jung Hae came back from camp, he didn’t meet up as often with you. His texts became short and doing he even stopped replying “i love you”, you were always left hanging, and that hurt you, a lot.
“(y/n)! Oh what were you looking at?” Jungkook said as he arrived at the table with two drinks. You hurriedly locked your phone and looked up, “O-Oh nothing, I wasn’t looking at anything."
He only chuckled, "We’ve been friends long enough for me to know when you’re lying. But i won’t push it. Here’s your drink.” You mustered up a smile as you took a sip on the drink.
After that incident from the game room, the two of you have an unspoken agreement to never bring that up and you two were back to being cheerful around each other almost immediately.
“Where’s Tae and Jimin?” You asked Jungkook.
“Jimin is having dance practice. Taehyung is probably wandering around school as usual.” Jungkook shrugged his shoulders and you nodded your head in agreement. “You’re probably right.”
The two of you continued talking about other random things but at the back of your head, you couldn’t help but think of Jung Hae’s peculiar behavior for the past two weeks. But being the foolish person you are, you decided to ignore it.
It wasn’t long till the truth caught up to you and you had no choice but to face reality.
That same day when Taehyung was actually wandering around the campus, he caught Jung Hae having lunch with a girl and they were sitting very close to each other. He spied on them for a few more minutes until the girl kissed him on the cheek and that caused the boy to dash as fast as possible to find Jungkook.
You had headed back to your dorm to complete your assignments and Jungkook was also walking back to his own dorm after dropping you off.
“Ya Jungkook!!!” He heard a loud voice repeatedly screaming and he knew all too well who it was.
“What is it—” He turned around only to be knocked by Taehyung himself. “J-Jung Hae… He… Cheat… Her… Lunch…” Taehyung was heavily panting, trying to catch his breath.
Taehyung took a deep breath in before repeating everything clearly. "I just saw Jung Hae with a girl and she kissed him on his cheek."
With that Jungkook turned back to head towards your door but only to be stopped by Taehyung. "I’ve got to tell (y/n)!! What are you doing?"
"What do you think you are doing? Go up and tell her then confess? Was that your brilliant plan? If yes, then you are just going to be her rebound!!!"
"Then what do you want me to do? Besides beating Jung Hae up.”
Taehyung sighed, “Give her time. Don’t tell it to her today. You yourself aren’t ready to absorb the news in fully. Talk to her in private and try not to confess."
Jungkook sighed, "I really want to beat him up though."
"Once we tell Jimin, I’m sure we all 3 would like to do that to Jung Hae."
Talk about mansplaining. Exactly what gives Min Hyun the right to tell Bong Soon how best to use her powers in this gym montage? All that time he spent playing video games? His possession of a penis? That pasty flower boy probably couldn’t open a mayonnaise jar of his own accord.
Taehyung took a deep breath in before repeating everything clearly. “I just saw Jung Hae with a girl and she kissed him on his cheek.”
With that Jungkook turned back to head towards your door but only to be stopped by Taehyung. “I’ve got to tell (y/n)!! What are you doing?”
“What do you think you are doing? Go up and tell her then confess? Was that your brilliant plan? If yes, then you are just going to be her rebound!!!”
“Then what do you want me to do? Besides beating Jung Hae up.”
Taehyung sighed, “Give her time. Don’t tell it to her today. You yourself aren’t ready to absorb the news in fully. Talk to her in private and try not to confess.”
Jungkook sighed, “I really want to beat him up though.”
“Once we tell Jimin, I’m sure we all 3 would like to do that to Jung Hae.”
That conversation happened two days ago. Jungkook had been thinking of how to break it to you but he had no clue how. Instead, he continued to just hang out with you and be by your side while he figured out a way to do so.
“Jungkook? Are you okay?” Your voice brought him out of his thoughts. “O-Oh yea sorry… I was just thinking about the assignment we were given earlier today.” Jungkook lied. He felt bad that he was lying to you, his best friend and the girl he likes— a lot.
You gave him a tired smile and patted his shoulders. “Same here, I wanted to start on it tonight but Jung Hae wants to have dinner with me so i’ll probably crash on my bed after dinner.” You laughed and failed to notice how nervous and tense Jungkook had gotten.
“O-Oh. How’s Jung Hae?” He tried his best to sound as casual as possible. Thankfully, it worked.
“Jung Hae? He’s been pretty busy with his coursework as well so we haven’t met in a while but we’ve been texting everyday anyway.”
Jungkook only nodded his head, not knowing how to reply. Should he tell you right now? Should he wait and see how your dinner goes?
“(y/n)-ah…” He heard his own voice, not realizing that he called your name. You looked back up at him, “Yea?”
He cleared his theist and placed both hands on his book, “Let’s go.” He got up and packed his things up.
“Go where?” You asked while packing, following your best friend. Jungkook just grinned at you, “Just trust me.”
Jungkook led you to one of the campus gardens. Your campus had 4 gardens in total since it was a huge college. “What’s the occasion?” You laughed as you took a sit beside him on the bench.
“It’s a good day to be outside instead of the library!”
“This is just you procrastinating isn’t it?” You raised an eyebrow at him and he just laughed, shaking his head. None of you said a word as you both stared into the distance enjoying the temporary tranquility the garden offered. Before exam period, you and Jungkook would come to the gardens to distress and calm your minds so that you could focus better. It was always a thing you guys did when you were worried or stress.
Then it hit you.
“You want to tell me something don’t you?” You looked at him and saw the look of nervousness in his eyes. “No i just want to relax!” He grinned, nudging you playfully but you didn’t buy it.
“Come on Jungkook, what is it?”
Jungkook sighed, not knowing what to say.
“Damn, are you really that worried about this graded assignment?” You furrowed your eyebrows and leaned closer to him to give him a comforting hug. “Don’t be so worried, you’re really smart you know.”
“(y/n)…” Jungkook groaned in frustration, “Its not about the assignment.”
You pulled back and looked at him, somehow starting to feel worried.
“Jung Hae… He’s cheating on you.”
“W-What?” You couldn’t form a sentence properly.
Jungkook only looked at you sadly, “I didn’t know how to bring it up—”
“How long have you known this?”
“Taehyung saw him with another girl two days ago…”
You turned away from Jungkook and looked ahead, allowing the news to sink in. Your boyfriend of 5 months was cheating on you? Sure it wasn’t that long. Sure you were slowly getting tired of his attitude as well. But hearing that your first boyfriend was cheating on you was still painful to hear.
“So that’s why…” You muttered when you started to recall the recent weeks. “(y/n)? Are… I mean I know it’s a stupid question but are you okay?” Jungkook asked in a very soft tone. You smiled and shook your head, not wanting to talk because you were trying not to cry.
“It’s okay to cry you know…” He frowned slightly as it was obvious you were trying your best to remain strong. You stayed silent as you tried to breathe slowly to calm yourself down. You didn’t want to cry. You didn’t allow yourself to cry. You wanted to stay strong. You didn’t want to show that Jung Hae affected you. You felt that he would be winning if you cried. And you didn’t want Jung Hae to have that satisfaction.
“(y/n)-ah…” You heard a caring voice call you out from your thoughts. Jungkook placed his arm shoulder your shoulder and pulled you closer to him. Using his hand, he gently pushed your head to rest on his shoulders. “I told you it’s okay to cry, you’re not weak.”
With a sad smile on your face, tears started to fall and you allowed yourself to cry softly. You felt him pull you closer slightly more as he gently rubbed his hand up and down your arm to soothe you. You weren’t crying as hard as you thought you would. Though your patience was wearing thin for Jung Hae, it did hurt a lot to hear that he was cheating on you. You’ve always wanted your first to be your last.
You wanted your relationship with him to work out so badly that you blinded yourself from reality. You were thankful for the outburst Jungkook had the other day in the game room because that got you to start thinking and got you back to reality and how you felt.
“If you want I can always beat him up for you.” He said half-jokingly and it got you to chuckle a bit. “Thanks for telling me… And for always being here for me.” You tilted your head back to look up at Jungkook who was smiling back at you.
“What am I going to do during dinner later? I can’t face him anymore.”
“Just break up with him.”
“I don’t know how to do that… As much as I want things to end, it is my first time and I don’t know how to do that…”
“Well then just see how it goes tonight. I’m only one call away.”
“You and your Charlie Puth reference.” You chuckled and he grinned cutely like a child. “At least they made you laugh.”
Over dinner, you were nervous. The moment you saw Jung Hae’s face, all your sadness was gone and replaced by anger. As much as you wanted to slap him, you wanted to stay the better person out of this relationship. You couldn’t focus on whatever he was talking about. You absolutely loathed the person that was sitting in front of you.
“Actually I wanted to have this dinner to talk about something serious.” He spoke in a serious tone all of a sudden. “I really hope you won’t make a scene here… I don’t see myself being able to continue this relationship with you.”
Wow, straight to the point. You thought.
“I know you wanted a first and last relationship, I’m sorry I couldn’t fulfill that–”
“Actually, I agree with you.” You surprised both yourself and Jung Hae. “I can’t see myself continuing a relationship with a cheater.”
“I know, Jung Hae. So yea, I agree we should end this. You know what? I’m not really hungry right now.” You got up from your seat. “You can’t just leave me and–”
“Sorry miss, can I have this to-go? Thank you.” You ignored him as you called a waitress to help you out. Jung Hae got up. “(y/n), what do you think you’re doing–”
You turned back to Jung Hae and smiled, “I really hope you don’t make a scene here.” And with that you walked away to pay for you part of the meal and to get your takeaway.
Without second thought, you took out your phone and called the first person in your head.
“Do you want to meet for dinner?”
You were back at the garden, having your takeaway with your best friend. “How do you feel?
You looked at him and gave a small smile, “Surprisingly, kinda free and relieved. I guess I was really done with him too.”
“That still doesn’t give him the right to cheat on you.” Jungkook frowned, obviously getting pissed off from the thought of it. You chuckled and nudged him playfully. “It’s fine. At least he’s out of my life now.”
“And that mini project was definitely the last project with him at last. You can finally join us again. We’ve missed you!” Jungkook pouted cutely and you pinched his cheeks. “I missed you guys too.”
The two of you continued eating and talking about anything that you could possibly talking about and that made you feel so much happier. “You know… Thank you for everything Jungkook… I’m really lucky to you have you.” You gave him a genuine grateful smile.
The boy reached out to pat your head teasingly, “That’s right.” He laughed, “I’m kidding. But you know I’ll always be there for you. I’ll never leave you.” He gave an endearing smile. Mustering up the courage, he reached out for your hand and was relieved when you didn’t pull away. “I’ll be here to help you get over him and help you feel happy again.”
You grinned at him, “I think it’ll be pretty easy to forget a jerk like him. It’s a waste of memory space.”
“That’s the (y/n) I know.” Jungkook laughed.
You spent your days with the three ever since and you couldn’t be happier. Jung Hae knew not to approach you and the two of you would pass by each other as if you’ve never met before. That was no problem to you seeing that you want him out of your life and memory. If you could erase him, you would have done it a long time ago.
It had been seven months since you guys broke up and you were enjoying your life. Of course, life always comes with big surprises. At least this time, it was a pleasant change and surprise.
“(y/n)-ah.” Jungkook called out your name as you were busy focusing on your laptop to finish an essay. “Give me 10 more minutes.” You said, not taking your eyes off of the screen.
“It’s been an hour.” You heard him grumble beside you. You were both at the garden finishing up your essays and Jungkook had given up. He wanted to go to the game room for a break but you were ‘in the zone’ to continue your essay.
“It’s not even due this week.”
“Yea but we have lots of work to do you know.” You shook your head with a small smile on your face. Jungkook went silent and you knew he was looking at your with a pout on his face.
“That won’t get me to stop.” You laughed as you continued to type. Jungkook kept sighing on your right and it wasn’t long till you tore your focus away from the screen to look at him.
“Alright what is it that you want to–”
What just happened.
“I really like you (y/n). I’ve liked you for more than a year right now that in fact I think I love you, cheesy I know.” Jungkook grinned. “Did you just kiss me?”
“On your cheek.” He corrected. You stared at him in shock, your heart rate had quickened and you could feel your cheeks getting hot. “Let’s go to the game room now.” He got up and took his stuff, acting as if he did not just confess to you.
You got up and took your stuff too, your mind was going crazy. You still haven’t given him a response?
The book turned around with a smile on his face. “Yes?”
“I… I like you too.”
You watched his grin grew wider as he stepped closer to you. “I know.” He kissed you on your forehead and took you by the hand. “Hey don’t get so cocky!” You glared at him playfully. He only laughed and pinched your cheeks. “I was kidding. You don’t know how happy I am to hear that.”
“Very happy?” You teased.
“More than that.” He replied with a big smile on his face and you knew he was telling you the truth.
Looking down at your intertwined hands, you had a feeling, maybe this new change was going to be the right one.
Between bouts of homophobia, this show is cute…as long as you don’t think too deeply about every single woman–except Bong Soon’s relatives–being feeble victims waiting for a serial killer to come along and off them. It’s like the drama equivalent of everybody’s favorite line: “You’re not like other girls.“ In fact, it kind of reminds me of these carvings I saw in Shakespeare’s home church. They were meant to be jokes, and showed a bunch of ridiculous, “unbelievable” things, like apes doing science experiments and women beating their husbands. Bong Soon is the Korean equivalent of one of those husband beaters, a punchline and an aberration in a world full of docile young ladies, where the possibility of female strength is fundamentally unthinkable.

PISCES: Abandoned waterparks, slides overlooking entire old cities, perfect for climbing, hoses and pools now scrawled over and used as skateboard ramps, kids climbing over the old towers and ladders in their bathing suits when it rains, pure want as their tickets in, yelling, “We’re still here, we’re still here, we’re still here!”
Once upon a time, Min Hyuk talked about how attractive Bong Soon’s strength made her. But apparently this show decided it needed to walk that back–the couple’s big moment comes when Min Hyuk trips Bong Soon during a fight and lands “romantically” on top of her. It’s an icky reminder that real strength and dynamism always belong to men, and women are at their most appealing whrn they’re powerless.
Show, I want you to be a fun romp, but I’m starting to think you’re an irredeemable troglodyte.
