Hades, Dionysus & Attachment

Hades and Dionysus are there to help you understand the lessons of attachment and separation.

Call on Hades to help you detach from material needs and desires, people and general situations. He will protect you into a new realm of consciousness, purpose, and understanding.

Call on Dionysus to release you from emotional and physical anchors or shackles. This includes sexual limitations, of course. He will reveal a landscape of options and opportunities from which you’ve been blocked.

Both of these entities can aid in attaining full appreciation for the present moment, and all the elemental paths for experience (spiritual, physical, mental, and emotional). And they can assist you when you need to perform rites of separation or in learning lessons of detachment. They can help in doing magic of this sort, especially!

But they will take their leave as soon as you become too dependent on them, as this is part of their patronage. They both thrive on the apparent paradox of being dependable until one forms a dependency! But they are ultimately very affectionate, gentle, and compassionate with those to whom they build a relationship.

Meditation on their dominions, mythic relationships, and origins have helped me reach these conclusions. But it all started when they basically sat me down and straight up explained all this to me in a dream a few nights ago.

I hope this helps anyone who wants to learn about them!

I found Dionysus in a boy,
Sad soft smiles, he gives me wine and
I forget the world, everything but him.
I found Dionysus in a girl,
Burning brightly, we dance until we’re dizzy
And completely out of air.
I found Dionysus in a class,
An academic bacchanalia, I’m up all night
Completely devoted until I lose my sense of self.
I found Dionysus in a dream,
Groggy and green, we wandered lost and free in the wild,
Until I woke again between four white walls.

1. He’s in skinny jeans on the train, and he’s chain smoking in front of the sign that says not to. His hair’s falling over his face, but you can still see his eyes. They look like trouble. They look like drowning. They look like a downward spiral.

2. He’s leaning against a street lamp. It’s 3 in the morning and you didn’t think there’d be anyone else out. You try to stop your heels from clicking, but it’s too late. He’s heard you, and he’s looking up. A smile curls, slow and lazy and confident like a tiger. The white of his teeth sparkles, and just like that, you want him. You let him take you in the alley. He walks you home and says, ”It’s not safe out this time of night.”

3. He’s in a suit, tie and all, and he invites you into his office. He offers you some of that wine he’s always having. There’s something different about him today. You think you see something purple flashing in his eyes. It’s almost as if you can hear things snapping, but you’re not sure what they are. All you know is he’s angry, he’s furious, and something instinctual makes you think, don’t break me.

4. He’s your father, and this is only the third time you’ve seen him. His gaze is like a vine holding you in place. You don’t know why he comes, or if there’s a pattern to his visits, but he does, and that’s enough. You think so, at least.

5. He’s a ray of sunshine. He cooks dinner and it’s ready when you come home from work. He doesn’t smoke, or drink, or sleep around anymore. And you’re happy, before you wake up, and you realise he will only be a good man in a dream.

(In case anyone is wondering, my name is Phae.  I’m 24 and bisexual.  I work with Dionysus, Kali, and Guan Yin, though I’ve had other interactions with other gods.  I’ve had… experiences with other paranormal entities.  I’m a frequent lucid dreamer and an avid practitioner of meditation. If you share an interest in any of those things, I’d love to hear from you!  If not, and you just want someone to share with, I’d be happy to hear that too!)

Magical uses: Amethyst, a purple quartz, is a stone steeped in ancient magic. It is, perhaps, as popular today as it was two thousand years ago.

Placed beneath a pillow or worn to bed, amethyst drives off insomnia and nightmares. It produces a peaceful sleep and pleasant, healing, even prophetic dreams. However, it will also ensure that its wearer doesn’t oversleep.

A spiritual stone, with absolutely no negative side effects or associations with violence, anger or passion, the amethyst is the stone of peace. When the stress of everyday life well up within you, hold an amethyst in your left hand (or right hand if left-handed). Let its soothing, de-stressing, calming, peaceful, vibrations sink into you. Or better yet, wear amethyst so that it touches your skin, and you may avoid such highly wrought emotional states.

The amethyst calms fear, raises hopes, lifts the spirits, and promotes thoughts of of the spiritual reality behind our lives. Worn, it guards off guilt and self-deception, helps you overcome addictions such as alcoholism, curbs overindulgence, and bestows good judgement. Amethyst calms emotional storms. Even in situations of potential danger, the amethyst will come to your aid.

Amethyst also lends courage to its wearer, and it is a powerful amulet for travelers. Worn, it protects against thieves, harm, sickness and danger.

This beautiful stone also sharpens the conscious mind, quickening the wit and enhancing mental powers. It is used to improve the memory, to relieve headaches, and to keep thoughts in line with life goals.

Hundreds of years ago, the amethyst was moistened with saliva and rubbed on the face to banish pimples and rough skin. Today it is used in spells designed to magnify beauty.

last night i had a dream the apocalypse was happening and i was at the store gathering supplies and on the top shelf I saw this huge piece of chocolate pie and I was like. I need this. And even tho I’m pretty tall I still couldn’t reach it, so I was like “Hey! My old pal Dionysus can help me with this!” So in my mind I asked Dionysus to help me and then he appeared on top of the shelf alongside the pie and he picked it up and slam-dunked it onto the grocery store floor

and i ate it

and by golly it was the best nonexistent dream pie ive ever had in my life

a cup of heaven

Dionysus and Ariadne; a thank you for 3000+ followers.

The princess sighed as she ran her hands down the elaborate jewels of her wedding dress. The ceremony stood waiting outside for her, her husband-to-be standing eagerly at the altar for his lover.

Formally, she was known as Ariadne, princess of Crete but to her closest family and friends she was (Y/N). She grew up being spoiled by her father King Minos, as well as spoiled by her people; she was the eternally beautiful princess and it was no wonder that she had caught a certain wine-god’s eye. She had been aiding Theseus in his quest of slaying the Minotaur but to her dismay, found herself abandoned by him on the island of Naxos. That was where Dionysus found her.

He was a handsome man, with wavy hair the color of ebony whisky that turned to honey under the sun’s rays. He was tall and tan with a golden glow, resembling the shiny Drachma coins he loved to gamble with. (Y/N) couldn’t lie and say that she didn’t feel an attraction to him but she prized herself for being strictly pure; never before touched, never before drinking a sip of alcohol yet here she was, marrying the god of wine and festivities.

(Y/N) smoothed down her hair one last time before walking down the steps of the temple. Her dress trailed behind her and her bare feet twitched at the touch of the cool marble floor. Her eyes met Dionysus’s (whom she learned was named Harry) and a small shy smile pulled at her lips. Her father stood next to Harry, adorned head to toe in gold jewelry and his finest silk robes. It made (Y/N) feel better that her father was marrying the two, as she didn’t feel as self conscious.

Harry held out his hand as (Y/N) came up to him, placing her own in his. She tuned out her father’s voice and stared to Harry’s eyes. She found the deep green sea, her father’s favorite emeralds and the color of spring all within his irises. She decided she could never get enough of his eyes as she found herself lost in them, just as Harry was lost in hers.

The wedding was over before (Y/N) had even realized it. With a smirk on Harry’s face, he took them to his home which lay on the tallest peak of Olympus. (Y/N) stood awed, as she had never seen a temple more beautiful. The peach sunset light danced in between the grand pillars and through the stained glass windows and the air was heavy with the smell of candles.

“This is breathtaking.” She whispered, turning in circles to take everything in.

Dionysus wrapped his arms around her waist from behind, resting his head atop of her shoulder. “Is it beautiful enough for you to live in though?”

“It’s beyond what I could ever dream of.”

Dionysus placed a chaste kiss on her cheekbone, turning around and disappearing through an archway, leaving (Y/N) alone. Although beautiful, she felt slightly out of place. She was no goddess nor Queen, so what did that leave her? She had grown up being adorn by her small island but now, it had shrunk down to being adorn by only one. But as soon as she saw Harry reappear with two empty drinking glasses, her worries were put to ease.

“Have you ever drank before, my princess?”

(Y/N) shook her head but accepted his offer of the glass. In Harry’s other hand he held a wine bottle and poured the plum colored liquid into the goblets. With a small toast to their marriage, they drank. The wine was smooth as velvet and left a trail of bitterness down (Y/N)’s throat but she found herself wanting more.

For the rest of their immortal days, this was how Ariadne and Dionysus spent their time. Drunk in love with each other in a Heaven where summer was eternal. Some say Ariadne stayed a goddess where she faithfully remained by Dionysus, while others say Ariadne was slain and turned to stone by King Perseus, but rescued from the Underworld by her husband.

While being left by Theseus was possibly the worst thing that could’ve happened to her, being found by Harry was the best.
