the world as we know it has ended and mother nature starts taking back what’s hers. there are no zombies or cannibals or murderous bandits. the most valued members of the community are those who know how to garden and farm, sew and weave, treat wounds, work wood or build with bricks, cook from scratch.
people bond together to begin rebuilding instead of killing each other. everyone teaches each other whatever they do know and works together to figure out the stuff none of them know. books become incredibly valued resources because they’re often the only way to learn critical information. if someone is elderly, disabled, or otherwise unable to work at the same level as most of the community, they’re taken care of by the others, not told any sort of “survival of the fittest” bs.
as the generations ware on, communities begin expanding into small cities. some of the settlements even find ways to repurpose solar or wind power on a small scale and have electricity in some of their buildings. storytellers wander the countryside telling tales of the old world in return for some hot stew or a place to rest for the night, and the mythos of the new world start to incorporate elements of the past. the only thing that remains constant is that humans survive, and they do it by working together.
I know there’s this fandom joke about everyone’s outfits being horrid and Lance being the only one with a sense of style, but listen me here.
Isn’t the show supposed to be set in the future? I mean, it’s not quite confirmed but we can pressume the story takes place in a futuristic, technology-wise advanced earth, right? Well, you know what other element of society is also always evolving?
That’s right, fashion.
So, what I’m saying is that this is probably how people on earth actually dress by the time period the show is set in. They don’t have terrible tastes in fashion, this is the fashion in this world.
That being said, Lance wearing normal 2010s teenager clothes becomes a whole different concept. He isn’t going with his time’s fashion, he is wearing something his parents, or even his grandparents would have wore. So basically he is the sci-fi equivalent of a guy in the 2017 wearing zubaz pants, sky jackets and neon headbands, or something like that. Which is, i have to say, absolutely hilarious. These aren’t four awful looks + one with actual style. These are four totally normal looks + some nerd wearing his grandparent’s clothes like a goddamn futuristic hipster.
This fucking dork just took the concept of vintage to a whole new level, i love him so much.
WHY IS JIMIN'S HAIR SUCH A BIG DEAL? (HAIR TIMELINE)
Idol stars choose a variety of hair colors to transform their image concepts for different albums. Yet not everyone succeeds in pulling it off. Park Jimin on the other hand not only makes it his own easily but also changes his whole aura. From gangster to erotic to sensible to even aristocratic attire, he switches between themes making his fans never able to get another bias it seems. So let’s track together Chimchim’s HAIR TIMELINE:
Black au naturel
Pre-debut fetus (Who knew this lil boy will be the death of many)
Dark brown haired baby
June 2013 “No More Dream”, “We are bulletproof” and “N.O" (He got abs and cheeks you wanna pinch and love)
Black haired cutie
January 2014 "Boy in Luv”, “Just One Day” in both Japanese and Korean versions (What happened? WHERE IS THE BABY?)
Brown haired danger
August 2014 to about beginning of June 2015 “Danger” (No comment … it was just RUDE to the chore)
Red haired Jam
End June 2015 “Dope" (He got Jams and it’s strawberry -Imma make Jin proud with this line hahaha-)
Ginger haired sunshine
November 2015 (his red hair faded) "Run” Korean and Japanese versions (That hair + Jimin’s smile were something no one could resist)
It was quite bright too
Legendary Sexy Black
April to September 2016 Fire MV (It’s rumored to be one of the best ever, I mean, the boy looked soooooooooo fine: we had a sharp jawline, abs, hip thrusting, forehead, high notes ….)
Silver haired royalty
October 2016 Blood, Sweat & Tears (Bow down and respect God’s creation)
Blond haired angel
December 2016 end of the year award show (He wasn’t human, PERIOD)
Pink haired mochi with a twist
January 2017 “Spring day” “Not today”. (He was VERY cute during Spring Day…
And VERY disrespectful during Not Today?!!!!
WE WERE HELLA CONFUSED. LIKE PICK A SIDE!)
Silverish are you back?
The start of March 2017. (He went back to a light silver brown kinda shade but it didn’t last long. That month he kept experiencing different shades. Thus Jimin’s stans suffered well).
Brown haired confusion
End of March 2017. (back to brown for the wings tour and he kept trying all kind of shades of brown until now. Sometimes it was super light
Other times, almost black but it’s not … black (btw, screw you snow filters for giving me fake hopes every time)
Well … now death the comeback is near, and we have NO IDEA what to expect. One thing for sure, a new Jimin is in the making and no Jimin can deceive. BRACE YOURSELF ARMY and RIP JIMIN STANS !!!
This series was created by the same people behind “Parks and Recreation” and it would be such a shame to see it go unnoticed, so let me try to perk your interest.
1) The main character is a man of color who is an award winning journalist.
2) It’s very rare for shows to have women of various ages, sizes and skin colors who are all seen as beautiful and desirable at some point, not just because of their bodies but their personalities and skills too.
3) The most masculine man in the show is a farmer who is gentle, caring and gay, so a classic bear.
4) The priest is a Latino man who is really into funk music.
5) It’s both funny, delightfully creepy at times, and emotional but non of the emotional moments are forced or take up too much time.
6) All the characters (aliens included) are complex and interesting with real flaws.
7) The aliens have a different concept of sexuality and doesn’t understand gay or straight. Some think interspecies is taboo though.
8) Two male aliens are in love.
9) The show has such good characters it actually manages to make you like the rich white guy who wears a V-neck and insist on eating a paleo diet.
10) If you love modern alien lore or want to know more about it, this is the show. It gets everything right.
11) Things make sense. You’ll think the show is just being weird a first, but as the plot unfolds you’’ll realize why characters behaved the way they did in the first episodes.
So please give this show a try. You can watch it on TBS’s site, and if you live outside the US just google “People of Earth streaming” and you’ll find it. (I know I know, but what are us poor non-Americans supposed to do)
