It’s a miracle that Chester persevered and became the frontman for Linkin Park - as a child, he was molested by an older friend (ages 7 - 13), bullied by people at school, abused by his parents who were going through a divorce, stricken with poverty, was into hardcore substance abuse (alcohol, marijuana, opium, cocaine, meth, LSD) at the age of 14, and self harmed. Despite all this, Chester managed to overcome his demons and become part of one of the most successful musical groups of all time.

20. Every Linkin Park album title reflects the band and their music in a unique way. Hybrid Theory was Linkin Park’s name before signing to Warner Brothers, and symbolizes their unique conjunction of musical styles. Meteora is named after one of the largest and most important complexes of monasteries in Greece, built above natural pillars. It translates to “middle of the sky”, “suspended in the air” or “in the heavens above”. Minutes to Midnight is a reference to the Doomsday Clock, a symbolic clock face that estimates how close we are to global disaster. A Thousand Suns comes from the Hindu Sanskrit, the “Bhagavad Gita”, which has been quoted in reference to Nuclear Warfare. Living Things gets its name because it’s a very personal album for the band - it deals with several personal topics that members have experienced, and expresses their humanity.

06. Chester struggles to sing Breaking The Habit at live events due to his past - the song often brings him to tears. This is interesting because the song, which was originally instrumental, was written by Mike without any input from Chester!

07. Linkin Park was turned down 44 times before finally being signed by Warner Brothers, who had turned them down 3 times already. The only reasons WB signed LP was because Jeff Blue negotiated his employment contract with WB, and he was too valuable of an employee for Warner Brothers to lose.

16. Rob’s mother is close friends with Joey Kramer, Aerosmith’s drummer, after having dated him when she was younger. Due to this friendship, Rob and his mother were able to go backstage and see an entire Aerosmith production from up close. Kramer gave Rob a kick pedal, and that’s when Rob started to play the drums.
