Well! We’ve come to the end of 2015 and I haven’t made a follow forever in years. I thought I’d honour my mutuals and give everyone a virtual kiss under the mistletoe. I also have to thank my 10,000+ followers, I can’t believe y’all still hang around this multi-fandom mess. I hope 2016 is everything you want it to be and you are happy.
Squad: I’m blessed to have met all of you this year! Meeting @danakatharine in Australia and seeing Cate Blanchett on stage and then visiting my first gay club in England
with @klytemnestras and @rhondaboneys. Formative experiences. You’re so important to me.
I also met @katullys this year in New York and went to Washington DC with her! I stayed with @robertcarlyle in Vancouver and then we travelled France and the UK together. I met @kingstonmcbride in England and @gillianaanderson in Paris! Basically what I want to say is I’m so thankful to everyone for proving that “online friends” can become real life friends and that really there is no difference.
It has officially been a year since my last follow forever and let me tell you, 2015 has been one hell of a wild ride. The fact that most of you stuck with me when all I have been talking about for the last seven months is Gillian Anderson is a sign that y'all are keepers. Thank you for keeping my dash so wonderful and I love you all. So cheers, happy holidays and here’s to a great 2016!
Special mention: @marbhan who is by farthe best friend I could ever ask for. Despite us living in two separate continents with complete opposite time-zones, she never fails to message me every day (mostly about how Carol-esque her life has become) which brings a smile on my face no matter what mood I’m in. She’s always there for me when I’m down and is supportive of everything that I do. There are literally no words to describe how important you are to me and I am so grateful for you every single day of my life.
Also, shoutout to the twitter squad, y’all honestly keep me sane so thank you for putting up with my constant tweets about Gillian Anderson (though, really, I do it all for you).
During the 6ish years (I KNOW) I’ve been on this site now, I’ve never done a proper follow forever (I think?), because I was always worried that I would leave people out… And that still stands, I’m sure I’ve forgotten some and I’m sorry about that, but here’s the thing. 2016 has been tough. And I know we talk about this a lot, how it was an overall mess on a global scale, but it was also just tough for me on a personal level. And I feel like in 2017 I’ll finally have the chance to have a fresh start in several ways, and to accept and explore some things and developments in my personal life.
What I hope doesn’t change however is my wonderful dash and the people filling it. There are some who I’ve never interacted with, but still put a smile on my face with their posts on a daily basis, some who I do actually talk to as well, some whose blogs I just recently discovered and some I’ve been following for many years now… You get the gist of it. So I just wanted to say, thank you for making my dash a little better, my day a little brighter in 2016. And thank you to all the people not listed, the ones whose messages or just seeing their usernames in my notes make my Tumblr experience so much fuller, even if I don’t follow their blogs necessarily.
It’s Easter weekend (well, almost), and over the course of the past four months I’ve met an exceptional number of absolutely wonderful people, and I felt like it was time to do an ~updated follow forever! You guys are the absolute best and I don’t know what I’d do without you- you’ve made my almost-three-years on this website some of the best and I adore each and everyone person who follows me and that I follow (so you should check out my blogroll for the full list of people who make my dash great!). I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe holiday!
