Page 245 of 366: The Patron experience.

Patron tickets are a bit more costly, but they are soooo worth it! Better view, better everything. When Teng was less than a foot away from where I was standing, I almost couldn’t resist making kalabit, hahaha.

This game is my fave out of the games I’ve seen live this season. Not only because I was only a meter away from all the action, but because it was in this game that the Tiger redeemed themselves from the two disappointing losses against FEU and DLSU. Jeric Teng was back in the game. Ferrer showed off his D skills, despite all the unfair calls given to him by the damn refs. Fortuna, Abdul and Bautista proved their consistency and reliability. Call me obsessed, but I have invested so much time and support on this team. Haha.

I am sooo not missing the game on the 15th!

Wicked Oreos! Haha. The result didn’t really match my expectations. It didn’t look normal, more like a deformed version. Well, I can explain. My relatives told me that they won’t eat it if there’s too much oil so I didn’t deep fry, resulting to the ‘deformation’. Anyways, it tasted fantastic amidst the not-so-appetizing look. Oreos are oreos and pancakes are pancakes. Not even an inexperienced and incompetent cook like me can mess that up.

Watching the One thing MV

Before pressing the play button..

First 10 seconds… Liam close up..

Harry’s goofiness..

Zayn’s solo..

The boys getting touchy with each other..

Nialllllllll’s cutenessss

Chorus parts..

ZIALL <3 <3 <3 and the little dance moment @2:21

The rest of the video..

Then the song ends..

Realizing that I can always play the replay button and no one can stop me

But I misplaced my earphones and I’m pretty sure my cousins are now pissed cause the song’s being replayed for over 3827648372 times already

Realizing later (after replaying the vid for more than 26 times) that I’ll never get to see them perform live and all I’ll ever get to do is watch them on youtube, stalk them on twitter and fangirl about them on Tumblr..

Replaying the video to cheer myself up, but because of the thought, ending up more depressed..

Realizing that there are a million of other girls just like me, so I play the video again.. and again.. and again.. AND AGAINNN.

80's Movie Challenge

After the very enjoyable Oscar challenge, I figured I should start another watchlist and make it a monthly ritual. Each month would have a different theme and I think the most suitable theme for this month is…. the 80’s.

Thanks to shows like HIMYM, Vampire Diaries and Suits, I don’t need a research to make a list:

  • The Breakfast Club
  • Sixteen Candles
  • Say Anything…
  • The Princess Bride
  • Dirty Dancing
  • Ferris Bueller’s Day Off
  • The Karate Kid
  • Purple Rain
  • St. Elmo’s Fire
  • Top Gun
  • The Untouchables

And then maybe I’ll have a rewatch of some I have already seen but slightly forgotten:

  • The Goonies
  • ET: Extra-terrestrial
  • Back to the Future
  • Honey, I Shrunk the Kids
  • Ghost busters

Would appreciate it if anyone can suggest other 80s movies worth seeing in my ask box thxxx (and nope, no horror films plz haha)

Oh well, a win is a win.

All thanks to Mr. Derek “Clutch” Fisher and his last minute 3 pointers.

It was an ugly game. The third quarter alone was a fucking mess. (Read: SEVEN POINTS)

But yeah, a win is a win. Though I would’ve preferred it if they gave the Mavs a tough time to avenge last season… but there’s always next time.

Props to Bynum and McLOBerts, too!

Up next… Miami Heat. On Thursday. Last day of Prelims week, which means, I can watch the game on our LCD TV in Batangas. AWWWWW YEAAAAHHHH!

Page 65 of 366: Making choices and some random insights
  • Thought I could handle an all-nighter (to finish Sophie Kinsella’s new book) but immediately regretted the idea the minute my Marketing class started, I swear I’ve never felt so bangag in my life. Thank God our prof didn’t pursue with the scheduled graded recitation.
  • I’ve always preferred styro over any other kind of food packaging because they don’t get wet and oily and shit (unlike paper and plastic), but I learned today that I am actually unconsciously taking part in the destruction of Mother Earth by supporting this product. Styrofoams actually contain cancer-causing elements, and they may be partially responsible for some ‘hormonal changes’ in certain people, if you know what I mean.
  • I know I bitch about hating the existence of minor subjects that have little or sometimes, no connection at all with my course, but the truth is.. I’m actually starting to like Environmental Science.
  • I made the right choice of not sitting out during our PE class. My monthly 'duties as a woman’ weren’t exactly 'over’ yet, and because I’m taking up Philippine Games, we had to play those group games like luksong baka, human snake, and that game that requires you to pass through the crotches of your groupmates… you get the drift. But it was our second to the last PE class this school year and I can’t handle missing out all the fun and I’m really gonna miss this class so in spite of the cons, I was just like 'Fuck it, so what if there’s a bloody battle inside my body? No big deal.’ And thankfully, nothing bad happened and I really had fun. (TMI though, I know.)
  • I always keep forgetting how I loathe creamy stuff. (I hate frappuccinos and whip cream… and yogurt… and anything white, liquid and slimy…. err that didn’t come out right but whatever) Today, my blockmates recommended this broke-friendly milk tea shop. They sell Venti-sized milk teas for 50 PESOS!!! So I decided to give it a try despite it’s peculiar name (D’ cream). The second I got a hold of my purchase, I knew I wouldn’t like it. I was so pissed 'cause I had to wait for 20 fucking minutes and I was so freaking thirsty and dry after all that running we did in PE, and I WAS EXPECTING SOMETHING GOOOOD. I almost wanted to throw it straight to the bin. Or give it back to the counter. Either way. But as a matured human being, I gave it to a random garbage collector in Dapitan instead. He was smiling when he gave a gulp of the beverage. Well atleast I made someone happy. :) Besides, Moonleaf was just around the corner.
  • Fuck, have I always been this wordy??
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo - Stieg Larsson

So I just finished reading the first book of Larsson’s Millenium trilogy and all I can say is..

That was beautiful.

Seriously. I’m still in shock as I type.

I regret not reading/discovering this book earlier. It’s prolly the most engaging book I’ve ever read. Too many times did it make my heart beat so fast. And it was so worth the read that I was able to control myself from googling for spoilers.

Took me a while to get hooked though, prolly because of the numerous jargons and the lack of progress in the plot in the first few chapters. But once I got to the ‘Vanger’ mystery part and the creepy stuff, I couldn’t put Sherlock (my e-book reader) down. Kobo even awarded me for 'reading a book for 2 consecutive hours’. No breaks. No pauses.

It really felt like I was part of the investigation. Before the mystery was solved, I had my own theories and they were actually not so far from what happened in the end.

And I think I want to study Swedish. Froken Diane Garduce. Haha.

Lisbeth Salander is flawless.

Page 11 of 366: Sherlock is born

It’s finally heerree!

My mom’s pahabol Christmas gift. <3 (Kobo Touch Pearl E-ink E-reader)

This will help me a lot in my Cutting Back Project for this year, since I spent a big chunk of my allowance last year to satisfy my lust for physical books.

Loving it, so far. It’s so cuuute. Not really Kindle/Nook-quality (looks pretty fragile, and touch screen responds differently from the LCD ones), but still pretty good for its prize.

I’m naming this little white thing Sherlock. <3 And starting next week, I’m doing a One-Book-Per-Week Challenge.

Hey Sherlock, I wish you a loooong life. I promise to take good care of you. :***

That one person that makes waking up early to go to school worth it.

My one last wish before the semester ends was to see him around the campus. Yeah I know it’s fucking shallow, but seriously, his presence completes my day. WHAT THE FUCK AM I WRITING

But fate was a bitch today. Ang liit-liit na nga lang ng campus, ni likod niya di ko man lang nakita……..

While everyone’s partying because we just finished our Finals, I was like..

Then I was like, ‘Okay lang, tanghali pa naman.. I’m sure susulpot din yan mamaya.'

But no. He didn’t. Fate’s a bitch. Huling araw na nga lang, di niyo pa ako pinagbigyan?

I’m not gonna see him for one whole month. It’s okay. I deserve this….

Excuse me while I stuff my face with Mrs. Fields’ cookies and brownies.

/will prolly delete this later

This is why I shouldn't watch the news.

I’m not sure if there is anything to be worried about but… my paranoid hormones are taking charge again. Thing is, I need to travel from Batangas to Espanya tomorrow later. But these news about the Fiest of the Nazarene is making me nervous. What if I don’t make it on time to school tomorrow because of the traffic??

What is awkward. I was walking along P. Noval, magwiwithdraw sana inside UST then magsisimba after, pero hinarangan ako ng mga armadong tao.

I had my earphones on kasi, kaya I oblivious to what was going on around me. Then I saw a dozen men wearing matching ‘Alpha Phi Beta’ shirts then on he other side, may mga babaeng naka-UP Law shirts, then a bunch of other people in their own university shirts.. I immediately retreated back to my dorm kasi akala ko may rally na or something….. ayoko namang madamay + ang fierce ng itsura nung mga lalaking naka-black na I’m assuming fraternity brothers, parang konting kalabit mo lang susuntukin ka na agad. :)))

Tas yun pala may Bar Exam lang. Susme.

“Your time is limited, so don’t waste it living someone else’s life. Don’t be trapped by dogma – which is living with the results of other people’s thinking. Don’t let the noise of other’s opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary.”

I was pretty shocked when I opened Safari and this flashed on my homepage:

I was like… Whaaat, isn’t this guy just in his late 50s? And I never really knew he was suffering from cancer. I mean, the last time the public saw him, he was his usual awesome self, talking about the latest iPhone/iPad model, wearing his trademark jeans - you can hardly see that he was suffering from any disease. So it was reaaallly a shock for me. And yepp, Apple fangirl here.

That man right there is the reason why we’re enjoying quality music with our iPods, the reason why communication, social networking, etc are all just one tap away… the reason why we work our asses off in work, or in my case, in school, so that I could convince my parents to buy me the latest gizmo this genius has invented.

That man right there is a legend.

May you rest in peace, sir. And just like what Mr. Spielberg said, thank you for putting the world at our fingertips.

Reading list for the second half of 2012
My “2012 Reading Challenge” isn’t going very well. In fact, I’m flunking it. I’ve only touched 9 books for the past 6 and almost a half months. (Fuck you, Accountancy.) But I’m still optimistic, so for future reference, here we gooo: (listed according to priority)
  • If I Stay (Gayle Forman)
  • The theme is similar to the drama series I just finished watching (49 Days), so I’ll start off with this.
  • Perks of Being A Wallflower (Stephen Chbosky)
  • Yes, I haven’t read it. Yes, I’m the lamest person alive.
  • Thirteen Reasons Why (Jay Asher)
  • I read to escape and feel good (hence, the amount of chick-lits and fantasy novels on my bookshelf) so I tend avoid books with, er, gloomy themes (i.e. suicide, death) except if it involves vamps and werewolves, haha. But I heard this one’s a really good read, so why not?
  • Looking for Alaska, An Abundance of Katherines, Paper Towns, The Fault in Our Stars (all by John Green)
  • It’s a shame I haven’t touched any of his works yet. By the end of 2012, I hope I’m done reading them all. Or atleast two.
  • Anna Karenina (Leo Tolstoy)
  • For a classic balance.
  • The Extraordinary Education of Nicholas Benedict (Trenton Lee Stewart)
  • Because I miss Sherlock.. And I need to empower my nerdy side.
  • Snow White & The Huntsman (Lily Blake)
  • I didn’t like the movie. It sucked, period. Let’s see if this’ll make a difference
  • Cocktails for Three (Madeleine Wickham)
  • I need my Sophie Kinsella fix.

That’s all for now, I guess. Will update this when I see anything else worth reading. Can anyone recommend recent chick lit (Meg Cabot/Sophie Kinsella types) or any feel good novels?

Note to self: Get your shit together.

My personal goal for 2012 is to become a dean’s lister, but look at me now. School’s like two days away but I still haven’t touched my books yet. I didn’t even bring them with me here, in the first place. Left them in our dorm to rot. What the fuck was I thinking? I have a quiz and a recitation on our first day and two quizzes the next day.

Good job, Diane. Good job.

I think I’ve gotten a little overboard in not giving a fuck about anything.

Left my laptop charger in Manila. No, I’m not travelling for three hours just to go back and get it. That’s just…

OHFUCK. I’ve been itching to see the past couple of episodes of TVD and GG and now’s my chance because internet’s not a dick here in the province.

Ughhhhh. Looks like I’m gonna have to wait for 2 days before I see the new episodes.

Well, on the brighter side…. I’m going home (my real home, this time) in 2 days!!!

Can’t wait to smell the air in Qatar again! Shawarma, shisha, Villaggio, PSD and fast internet, we shall meet again!

(i just love that gif)
