As much as I love animation, one of my favorite parts of reading manga is seeing the art style change over time as the artist improves and changes themselves–which shows in the comic and especially on the cover, since you see how they colour things too.
Especially since some of these are years and years apart– for example, the FMA ones are about 10 years apart and the dgrayman one being over the course of 12 years (with lots of hiatus’s, yes, but the artist did draw during them)
Sometimes it’s subtle, sometimes it’s not, (especially dgrayman lmao), but it’s still cool to see.
To me, the world is not only the shape on the map. On the battlefield, all I see are the faces of the order and my friends… I am an awful person aren’t I? Instead of the real world, all I care about is my friends. That’s because they are my whole world… Even if just one of my friends dies, to me, it’s the same thing as part of the world being destroyed.
Where Allen says that to scare humans away bc of the good human loving vamp he is. Except at one point where he faces dark order hunters. Said hunters aint scared of him. Heck the other fell in love with him.
D.Gray-man first started serialising 12 years ago, today! This series meant so, so much to me growing up and still means as much, if not more, to me today. It’s been a privilege to be able to see Hoshino-sensei’s work and her characters grow along with us, and I look forward to any and all future developments, come what may.
