destroy the lies

I think it was absolute important for the Camara to pan over to Leia as Rey remarks she sees “light” for so many reasons.

Leia Organa has been fighting wars and oppression for her entire life. Her biological father turned to the dark side, her biological mother died after democracy did and the parents who raised her were killed by a weapon of mass destruction thanks to the enemy she had been fighting since she was old enough to know better.

Not once has she ever gave in. Even with the threat of her home planet being destroyed; Leia still lied to protect the secret location of the rebels.

She was tortured and she broke out, and continued that war for years to come. When Han was kidnapped she didn’t give up in rescuing him. When Luke revealed their true heritage she embraced the truth and continued to fight on.

She won; but there was still many wars to face.

Flash forward to the current era. Her son has fallen to the dark side like her father. Han ran away from his troubles; but Leia continued on the fight against the darkness. Against the First Order; a symbol of oppression and darkness.

Much like the empire before them.

If anybody symbolises “the light side”; it’s Leia. She’s always been the light in the darkness, the person who not once gave up. She’s still carrying on strong even with the knowledge that her own son killed his father. She broke away from the New Republic to lead the Resistance because it’s all about priorities here. It was the idea of Darth Vader corrupting Leia to the dark side that drove Luke to fight him.

Much like her mother before her, Leia is a firm believer in democracy and freedom; and I think the stylistic choice to have her represent the light was truly amazing and probably the best thing to come out of the trailer.

The Road to Redemption: Arrow 5x11 Review (Second Chances)

Arrow introduced Tina Boland tonight, the new BC, and while we didn’t hit a lot of thematic new ground with her character, they set up an interesting juxtaposition between her, Oliver, Felicity and the road one takes to redemption.

My reference to the three characters in no  way means that I see a love triangle. Sometimes I’m gonna have to write their names all together in a sentence.

Let’s dig in…

Thank You, Jesus.

Sometimes it’s all you can say–past the shaking fists and tear-stained cheeks and a crushing sense of fear.

Thank You, Jesus–the words that destroy all the lies and put the devil back in his place. The words that remind you He is good, He is in control, and He knows what He’s doing.

Whatever you are going through, good or bad, thank Him. Lift His name up. Magnify Him above your circumstances and know that He is bigger and His purpose will prevail.

Me: I don’t really wanna come out it’s nobody’s business

The ghost of Harvey milk: Gay brothers and sisters,… You must come out. Come out… to your parents… I know that it is hard and will hurt them but think about how they will hurt you in the voting booth! Come out to your relatives… come out to your friends… if indeed they are your friends. Come out to your neighbors… to your fellow workers… to the people who work where you eat …come out only to the people you know, and who know you. Not to anyone else. But once and for all, break down the myths, destroy the lies and distortions. For your sake.

I'm Never Drinking With You Douchebags Again (Winchesters X Reader)

It wasn’t wrong to say that you were a light drunk when it came to drinking. You can’t hold alcohol well, especially liquor. You’ve tried, but you end up getting too drunk and sick, and not being able to function the next day. Dean would always pick fun at you, knowing how childish you act when you’re drunk.

Both Dean and Sam have seen you drunk numerous times, and as funny as they think it is, it was torturous for you. You’d do stupid things like call Dean ‘Boots’ and call Sam 'Dora The Explorer’.

You, Sam and Dean were all crammed together in a bar, trying to get your mind off of the last hunt, and move on to the next one. You were only two swigs into a slightly chilled beer, while Dean was taking down shot after shot, but Sam was joining you with a beer this time.

“Come on, I can’t be the only one doing this! This is embarrassing!” Dean said, taking another shot of whiskey, throwing his head back and then releasing a sharp sigh after he swallowed the burning substance. “Wanna try, (Y/N)?” Dean offered, before you shook your head.

“I don’t feel like puking up my intestines tomorrow” you muttered, taking a small sip of your beer, before Dean laughed. “Yeah, and I don’t want to have to be the one to carry her to the car, because you’d be drunk as hell too, Dean” Sam said, before Dean scoffed.

“I could carry her!” He shouted, before you shushed the brothers from their bickering, while they both muttered an insult to each other under their breath.

“(Y/N), just try one” Dean said, placing a small shot glass down in front of you. You glared at him, as he was flashing you a smirk that could make every woman weak in their knees.

“Dean!” You cried, before he frowned and took the drink back. “Fine, I guess you’re too afraid” you went numb at Dean’s words. You hated it when people said you were afraid, when you clearly weren’t.

Both the boys knew this, and Sam knew that this was a bad idea. “Dean, stop” Sam breathed out, before you grabbed the shot out of his hand and quickly poured it in your mouth, terrified to swallow.

Dean and Sam both looked at you shocked, before you swallowed the amber liquid, feeling it burn your esophagus on the way down, as you kicked the bar and tried to cry in pain, but it came out as a small squeak that made the boys laugh.

You panted hard, before Dean began to clap. “I’m proud of you, (Y/N). I guess you aren’t afraid” Dean said as you smiled. “I guess not! I want another!” You exclaimed like a child, a few other people in the bar giving you a weird glance, before turning their attention away from you.

“(Y/N), are you sure that’s a good idea?” Sam whispered into your ear before you nodded. “Yeah! I’ll be fine! I’ll just have two more!” You smiled, before both boys raised their eyebrows at you, knowing they were about to have an exciting night.

“Dean, get her legs!” Sam shouted.

“She won’t stop moving!” Dean shouted back.

“Dean!” Sam cried.

“Stop it moose!” You yelled violently at the older brother.

You thrashed and kicked in the parking lot, refusing to be picked up by Dean and Sam. You had seven too many shots, and you were destroyed. You lied down on the concrete, with your arms crossed and staring right at the sky.

“Look at the stars!” You slurred, before Sam’s arms grabbed you and took you into his hold, as he thrashed you over his shoulder and walked you back to the Impala.

“I told you, you shouldn’t have let her drink tonight, Dean” Sam said, before Dean opened the rear door for Sam, so he could gently place you in the Impala. “She’s gonna be fine, Sammy!” Dean exclaimed, watching you squirm around the backseat, trying to get comfortable.

“Let’s just head back to the motel, we’ll spend another night and then pack up tomorrow” Sam said, slamming the rear door closed, before getting into the passengers side.

Dean got into the drivers seat, turning his head to watch you play with your hair. “You good?” He raised an eyebrow as you slowly nodded, continuing to play with the messy strands. Dean smiled and turned back to face his brother, “She’s good” he said before starting the Impala and driving back to the motel.

By the time you all arrived, you were half asleep sprawled in the backseat. You arms and legs spewed across the slick leather as Sam and Dean laughed at your funny position, while they were getting you out from the back.

“I’ve never seen her this hammered before!” Sam said, shocked by your drunken state. “Let’s get her to bed, the faster she’s asleep the less of a pain she’ll be” Dean said, as Sam nodded in agreement, gently pushing your legs together and pulling you out of the Impala, before gradually pulling you out but accidentally slamming your head against the roof as he tried to pull your through the door.

“Sam!” Dean shouted, as Sam scoffed. “I’m trying my best, Dean!” Sam whispered as he slung you over his shoulder, feeling you thrash within his grasp.

“Sammy,” you groaned, “I don’t feel well”. Dean’s eyes widened, knowing that meant you were about to puke any second. He searched his pocket for the motel key, quickly finding it. As he went to open the door, it was too late and the content of your stomach were spewed onto the concrete.

Sam and Dean groaned in disgust, as Sam lowered you from his shoulders and cradled you in his arms. Your skin was pale and your eyes were bloodshot, not to mention the growing bruise on your forehead thanks to Sam.

“Let’s get you to bed, yeah?” Sam asked. You slowly nodded, disregarding all that he said as he carried you into the motel, gently setting you down onto your bed, listening to you groan in discomfort and pain.

“I’m never drinking with you douchebags again”

fairy-stone  asked:

Would you feel the same way if that infamous sign had said "Kill All the Mormons" instead of "Kill All the Jews"? Or "Kill All the Blacks", "Kill All the F*gs" etc, etc, etc? I am way more concerned with that "joke" than whatever the media is doing. I think it's very sad that such a sweet person like yourself could dismiss hate speech disguised as jokes. I am disappointed and I really expected more out of you.

I that you’re trying to make me look at the situation from a different perspective… If pewdiepie said “Death to all Mormons” or “Death to all bisexuals.” or “Death to all females” etc. (which are all things that are apart of who I am, and are things that are very important and even sensitive to me, especially how I’ve been bullied for all of those things before in real life.)

My stance would not change. because unlike you, (from what I’m getting at) I am able to see the difference between a bad and offensive joke, and true discrimination. I mean heck, us mormons had an ENTIRE MUSICAL PLAY making fun of us! and while that can be taken as discrimination and hate,  I know that it’s a form of satire and a parody, and not true discrimination. And as far as the discrimination I’ve faced in my life from being LGBT, let alone a Mormon LGBT, I know from first hand experience that what pewdiepie did, was not discrimination. Just a bad and offensive joke that the media used to their advantage to try and ruin him in the form of scandalizing him.

Just as Family guy, the Simpsons, South Park, MANY comedians, literally countless movies and video games, or even other youtubers like, Game Grumps, Leafy, FilthyFrank, Keemstar, ETC. Can make offensive jokes, and yet it’s ok. Why is it bad when Pewdiepie says it? Why not everyone else? The Media purposefully targeted the number one youtuber for money, That, is true hate and discrimination as a ploy to suck money in a web of lies.

What pewdiepie did was a bad and offensive joke. which isn’t good and I don’t support. The Joke he made was wrong yes, and it’s a huge mistake that he’s come out and publicly apologized for and after the events of the media taking advantage of his mistake, has definitely learned from his mistake. and if you watch pewdiepie, you can tell when he’s genuine, and when he’s creating satire. it’s literally night and day. Jokes, no matter how bad, do not define you as a person, and can be forgiven. But going out and trying to destroy someone with manipulation, bullying, lies, etc, when you are fully aware of what you’re doing just do you can get a paycheck, is disgusting.

So, you can hate me, if you want. That’s up to you how you feel about me. and if you disagree and decide you don’t like where I stand, then that’s ok. Because, even though I disagree, I do respect whatever decision you make. I’m not trying to force anyone to watch me or anything, and I definitely am not trying to force you to see how I see things.

But simply to answer your question, my stance would not chance.

I think what is hurting so much about the end of this relationship is how used I feel. I have never put so much effort into a relationship before. I’ve never tried this hard before but to make something work. I’ve never actually been able to be this open with someone before. I was in love, and I was swept up in the naivety that comes with it. I’m young, and I know I might have another opportunity at this, but this was the first time I met someone who I imagined spending the rest of my life with. And for that to be destroyed via infidelity and lies; I suppose this is an experience in growing up.

my friend is watching ep 68 cloak and dagger right now and i just realised how different my perspective of it is as a writer because he’s like ‘all these horrible things keep happening!’ and i’m like ‘I know! isn’t it great?’ and he doesn’t see how narratively delicious the whole set-up is and how many plates that Matt has spinning at once in one place.

it’s fucking phenomenal and i love thinking back about it, i’m glad it was my first live episode once the stress had settled, so i do sympathise with my friend’s terror but i was so excited the entire time throughout that ep. just going to list what i love because fuck it was good and it’s on my mind again

long post, ep 68 spoilers
