You know what kills me a little? Damien - sweet, adorable Damien who eats veggie burgers and makes bouquets with proper Victorian meanings - thought you wouldn’t like him anymore because he was ‘boring’.

Like, first of all, good organization and storage is Thing for me so yes plz drag me to a hardware store. Tennis shoes are completely appropriate work attire and are generally quite useful - stop stressing. And I actually kinda like Springsteen if I don’t have to hear him every day.

Secondly, do you guys know what the general responsibilities of a systems administrator are? They should be able to:

  • Support LANs, WANs, network segments, Internet, and intranet systems.
  • Maintain system efficiency.
  • Ensure design of system allows all components to work properly together.
  • Troubleshoot problems reported by users.
  • Make recommendations for future upgrades.
  • Maintain network and system security.
  • Analyze and isolate issues.
  • Monitor networks to ensure security and availability to specific users.
  • Evaluate and modify system’s performance.
  • Identify user needs.
  • Maintain integrity of the network, server deployment, and security.
  • Ensure network connectivity throughout a company’s LAN/WAN infrastructure is on par with technical considerations.
  • Design and deploy networks.
  • Perform network address assignment.
  • Assign routing protocols and routing table configuration.
  • Assign configuration of authentication and authorization of directory services.
  • Maintain network facilities in individual machines, such as drivers and settings of personal computers as well as printers.
  • Maintain network servers such as file servers, VPNgateways, intrusion detection systems.
  • Administer servers, desktop computers, printers, routers, switches, firewalls, phones, personal digital assistants, smartphones, software deployment, security updates and patches.

Also, it usually requires at least an associate’s degree in computer science or a related field (some jobs require a bachelor’s or a master’s degree) and probably a few certificates depending on the systems you’re working with.

TL;DR Goth Dad is v. smart and techy and I love him a lot.

Mikleo/humans becoming seraph theory

So I spoiled myself even before playing the game (I’m at the wind trial now, by the way), and found out how Mikleo became a seraph. Today I saw the skit about Mikleo wondering how to turn humans into seraphim.

As Edna explained to Mikleo, there are two types of seraphim. Mikleo seemed very interested in this, and also asked how they could become one.

He goes into the details, asking what form the human takes when turned into a seraph, if they are in fact the same person, etc. I noticed two things. One (which is the more obvious one) is that this hints Mikleo did not know this even existed, and also hints he’s kinda special. Apparently no one told him how he was born into a seraph, maybe for his own sake. (Again, I know this is obvious and revealed later, but still worth pointing out how it was hinted). Then the second thing I noticed, which is the very point of this post, is how interested he is in humans turning into seraphim. Though it’s pure speculation, I think that this hints to his insecurities about Mikleo and Sorey being different races. What if he wanted to know so much about humans becoming seraphim, because he wanted Sorey to become one? I assume he knows seraphim have very long lifespans, so it’s a big possibility he feared Sorey dying much earlier than Mikleo would. To be honest, people don’t talk enough about Touchy-Feely Mikleo’s insecurities about his and Sorey’s relationship.

Akatsuki no Yona 144 translation

Okay my lovelies, I’ve uploaded my translation of Akatsuki no Yona 144 onto my translations box. But!!!! My internet is being super weird so I’ve had to upload it using my phone, which means it’s not as prettily and cleanly divided and organised as usual, though I’ve still divided it by pages.

It’s super late and I’m super tired so I’m just going to leave ut as it is for now. Hopefully my internet will be back up tomorrow and I’ll be able to pretty it up as usual, and post my comment on KiraKira (which will be a 143-144 double comment). Bear with me until then!

As always, to read the translation please read my translations page (fourth tab at the top of my blog); you’ll find all the information you need there! Remember that to view it on your phone you have to switch to desktop mode.

anonymous asked:

Do you know any way to view the twitch chat on mobile or am I, with no pc, left out from the fun??

i don’t, i’m afraid! perhaps the twitch app could help? or you could switch to desktop mode on mobile?

I named my new laptop ‘Datapad’

And gave it the best login screen ever.

And since Windows requires a “key” to log in:

Plus a fun desktop wallpaper that switches the theme up a bit.

I’m considering a Welcome to Nightvale themed screensaver….

How I explain the gender spectrum to people

amab: I got a PC.

afab: I got a mac.

cisgender: I like the OS that came with my computer

transgender: I got stuck with this computer, but I prefer the other OS, so I’m going to just install that.  I may even at some point invest in installing components from the other machines.

Bigender: Dual Boot seperate partitioned drives

Genderfluid: OS emulators running on the desktop, rapid switching back and forth, also sometimes Linux.

Agender: I never really turn my computer on.  I like books.

Tutorial - Reading Someone’s Rules on Mobile

So, the tumblr app, as many know, is a less than ideal piece of coding. A lot of people who only use the app are denied access to people’s links even if they have specifically created them.

For instance, here is what this blog looks like on the mobile app:

This is the same blog using a mobile browser (in this case chrome):

Note how there are more links showing now that we have switched to using the mobile browser. A lot of people have pages that are viewable from a mobile browser that the tumblr app will pretend don’t exist.

And the tumblr app also doesn’t like to let you visit links outside of the app itself, so even if you message someone for the link to their rules page for example, you won’t actually get to it from the mobile app. You have to use a mobile browser to see people’s pages.

how to make your pages viewable on the mobile browser

this is actually really easy. simply go to your rules page that you set up for use on desktops and flip a switch.

After you hit save, whichever pages you choose from rules to verses to your about or navigation should be viewable in your mobile browser.

You should always double check your pages to make sure that they are legible if you are using a custom layout.

sometimes the fancy coding that makes your pages pretty can actually make them impossible to read on mobile devices for various reasons. In that case I strongly advise that you transfer the important text to a page with a standard layout for mobile users. Happy blogging!

I have a funny story about your art as a background, too!! :D I occasionally take my laptop into work (teaching high school EFL in Tokyo) and I have your gorgeous painting of Solas haloed by swords as the desktop. While switching between Power Points one day, it was projected prominently on the chalkboard much to the shock and entertainment of my students and one particularly confused student asked loudly, "Is that Jesus?!"

OHHH MY GODD hahahah that is my fault I keep using religious imagery I blame the roman catholic upbringing hahah I honestly still can’t believe there are drawings I made around the world on people’s screens and stuff it is so incredible

Now there’s the theory that this is fake floating around Tumblr but let me show you this:

As @gorillaztrivia pointed out, the OkCupid account is linked to Noodle’s Instagram and you clearly need said Instagram’s password to link it.

You can’t see it on the mobile site, but switch to desktop and you’ll see her Instagram pictures, that upload automatically to OkCupid too.

And the profile picture? The original with Noodle’s was deleted, it actually spent a few hours pictureless because most dating sites don’t allow non-real life images.

Apparently she’s online right now so who knows what changes we’ll see in the next minutes/hours.

(US Users) XKit Mobile Crashing on Login?

To illustrate the importance net neutrality, Tumblr decided to replace all images on dashboard with a load “spinning wheel”. This, however completely throws XKit Mobile off, causing it to crash upon login. Since this effect is only visible to United States users, I only have screenshots of it and can’t do anything to fix it remotely.

Fortunately, the fix is easy:

Login using a computer (or Safari on your phone, you’ll have to switch to “Desktop View”) and tap on the “Make it stop” button on the top of the page. This will remove the spinning wheels on your account, and XKit Mobile will start working again.

I’m terribly sorry about this.

(PS: Net neutrality is a really good thing.)
