Next in the Johtodex series, the lovely regional electric sheep, the Mareep line!
I love all of these designs, every stage is absolutely adorable! I love how in GSC an Ampharos is the power source of the Olivine City’s Lighthouse. And I will go to Cianwood and back as many times as needed to make sure Amphy is in good health! Palulu!
Finally, new work. This is a self portrait I took last week when I was visiting Savannah College of Art and Design. I absolutely fell in love with the city and the school there. Seeing the vast beach at night made me feel like I could walk out into that endless space forever. To address my long absence here:I’ve spent the past three months or so without a working camera or computer, which has been recently resolved. I’m back to shooting on the regular, and I hope to branch out more and explore how I can grow and change while still maintaining a style.
Character design of some families in my comic. I absolutely love designing families!! It’s fun to create characters out of a few basic prompts (family resemblances), while keeping them individual. How I do it is that I start with the base character, identify their features, and remix them in various ways for their relatives (for the deCordobas, I started with Zeynel, who has eyelids that curve downwards, and a generally sensual (romantic?) look. Then I designed his parents - Efraim is the one with the downwards eyelids, the long face, and… well, he’s his son’s father. Zeyneb is the one who provided the dark eyes and the sensuality. Once I figured them out it’s easier to design the siblings, and move backwards to the previous generation.)
Anyway genetics is fun and wild.
BONUS: Here are everyone’s silhouettes since I am a sucker for that kind of thing
