descending dragon

i want a setting that was once a high fantasy world but time has passed and the days of quests are over while the age of indoor plumbing has begun but the elves and stuff like still exist

like i want fuckin.. space operas where humans weren’t all that phased by aliens because there had always been other species, and our starfleet utilizing translation potions to help communicate

or a cyberpunk world with like digital magic and the hideous, deformed descendants of dragons creeping through the deepest darkest alleyways of the cities, devouring any fool who dares go down where the neon lights don’t reach

magic mecha to defend us from the giants awoken form their slumber by fucking dwarfs who couldn’t stop mining where they knew they shouldn’t, meanwhile rival mage factions are getting close to all out war to be fought with spellcasting pistols and rifles rather than wands or staffs

come on guys what the fuck happens 1500+ years after our young hero leaves his village to become a mighty warrior i gotta know y’all

2016 was a really interesting year for a Korean movie / drama fan.

Some US companies like 20th century Fox and Warner Bros started to invest in local Korean films like The Wailing (곡성) and The Age of Shadows (밀정).

Meanwhile, Korean film companies jumped into the Korean TV drama industry. Descendents of the Sun (태양의 후예) was produced by NEW (Next Entertainemnt World which produced Train to Busan) and Dokkaebi / Goblin (도깨비) was produced by Studio Dragon, one of the affiliated companies of CJ E&M Group.

Most of all, Studio Dragon (CJ E&M) took over the TV drama company established by the writers of Six Flying Dragons. It means their new Sageuk drama (the sequel to Six Flying Dragons and Tree with Deep Roots) may be broadcasted by tvN channel which is also an affiliated company of CJ group. But it remains to be seen.

So, D&D feels here but you know, paladins aren’t rare in the way most people seem to think of them. It is not inborn talent, so much, sometimes, especially in the case of the paladin. With the new 5th edition especially, it’s made even more explicit that they do not always dedicate themselves to gods, but rather to ideals. And maybe it means nothing to cynics, but, hey.

There are two ways to right a wrong. Punish the evildoer, or do kindness for the unfortunate in equal measure. First option’s easier, probably should be taken before moving on to the second one, but the second option’s worth doing.

A paladin isn’t always clad in shining white armor on an impressive, majestic steed, lance in hand as he races towards a descending dragon.

Sometimes a paladin is a dark, skinny-armed girl who grew up in the slums who should know nothing but survival, clawing for every piece of bread she can see, standing defiantly over the body of a fallen beggar, between him and the disdainful guardsman who was ready to beat him to death over a few allegedly stolen bread.

Sometimes a paladin is a grizzled old man whose knees are going on bad on him, who walks everyday to the unmarked graves of prostitutes and the nobodies who die in droves and water the flowers he’s planted on them, telling them stories like they are old friends.

Sometimes a paladin is a cook in the temple’s kitchen, who watches the priests feast on good food while others starve. Who purses her lips and shoves every scrap of food leftover for the day into baskets, which she then passes out in the slums with staunch faith that one day things will change. She might lack the power and the authority to turn the corrupt temple on its head, but someone else will, and until that day she knows she’s in the position to ease some pain from the despondent and she will fucking keep doing that until they kill her for it. Because she believes. Because she makes a choice to stay, to risk her living. Because she says, “This is not right” and takes action to remedy it, no matter how temporary or how small.

Chandler Riggs is a FC for Hiccup and Astrid’s son, Hallbjorn, from my fanfic.

Mal:  “Wait, if you’re not a prince and you’re not a villain, what are you?”
Hallbjorn: “I’m actually a dragon trainer.”
Mal: “You know my mother’s a dragon… I wonder…”

Kirin!Hanzo Au
…because apparently we didn’t have enough AU already so we made another one. The idea is that the Shimada family are descendants of dragons. With the passing of time their power decreased and so their form reduced as well.
Some of them lost all the link to their human parts and become just kirin (who’s like a hooved mini-dragon version), but others are still able able to change form from human to kirin (and those are called Royal Kirin). Humans belive that they bring fortune and fulfill wishes so they hunt them down to make some easy cash, at least by selling them.

Ha Long Bay, Vietnam

The name Hạ Long is derived from the Sino-Vietnamese 下 龍, meaning “descending dragon”.
According to local legend, when Vietnam had just started to develop into a country, they had to fight against invaders. To assist the Vietnamese in defending their country, the gods sent a family of dragons as protectors. This family of dragons began spitting out jewels and jade. These jewels turned into the islands and islets dotting the bay, linking together to form a great wall against the invaders. Under magics, numerous rock mountains abruptly appeared on the sea, ahead of invaders’ ships; the forward ships struck the rocks and each other. After winning the battle, the dragons were interested in peaceful sightseeing of the Earth, and then decided to live in this bay. (x)

Evie: This is your magic mirror?
Evil Queen: Yeah, it ain’t what it used to be. Then again neither are we. It will help you find things.
Evie: Like a prince?
Evil Queen: Like my waistline.
Evil Queen: Hello.

I demand that someone with better writing abilities than I, write OUAT character reactions to this movie. Especially Regina and Maleficent.

(And Evie totally could be an Outlaw Queen baby.)

Look at it!!!!

I haven’t written in so long, so sorry if this is sloppy and doesn’t make sense.

Pairings: Annalogia, slight NaLu.

Setting: Canon.

Summary: When he seen the familiar head of blonde hair, Acnologia’s blood began the boil. What he thought he was seeing was the woman that betrayed him 400 years ago, but that wasn’t nearly the case. Either way, the Heartfilia bloodline would pay for their betrayal… with their lives.

“Seven more dragon slayers, then I will take down that fucking traitor Zeref.” Acnologia grumbled to himself as he descended upon Magnolia. The dragon turned human smirked to himself, loving the fact that he took down God Serena with a single strike while the Gods of Ishgar couldn’t even land a single punch.

To him, it proved who was truly in charge.

Acnologia knew how powerful he was, how much he was feared across the world. If he wasn’t something to be feared, they wouldn’t have had a plan as complicated as this one just to take him out. He gritted his teeth, thinking about what has happened in these last 400 years. His mind wanders to one specific subject, but he quickly shakes his head at the thought.

“I can’t focus on then, I have to focus on now.”

That’s what he’s always told himself whenever his mind begins to drift on the past, to her. She broke him, the only person he has ever let in these closed off walls of his… and she betrayed him.

He couldn’t even bring himself to repeat the name of her… the woman he loved.

The only woman he would ever love.
