“Hey! Pretty boy!” Morgan snapped his fingers, pulling me out of my trance, “Are you listening to me?”
“Sorry,” I mumbled, glancing over my shoulder one last time at the girl who had captured my attention earlier, and who I had not-so-subtly been staring at for the past half hour.
Her nose was burried in a hard cover copy of “The Dark Tower” by Stephen King. Three completely full glasses were placed in front of her from the multiple men that had tried to hit on her but failed.
She was more captivated by the book in her hands than the music that filled the room, and even when her stumbling drunk friends tried to coax her to the dance floor, she denied them.
“Reid!” Morgan called, it had seemed my short gazed lasted a bit longer than I expected. “Sorry,” I mumbled again, causing the team to share odd looks between one another.
“Oh I see,” Emily said with an evil smirk, her eyes traveling to the girl. “Pretty boy has a crush,” Morgan sang, catching on.
I knew better than to pretend like I didn’t when I was surrounded by profilers, “I just… Think she’s cute, that’s all.”
Morgan chuckled, “Alright pretty boy, why don’t you go talk to her then.” I shook my head, “I couldn’t, I mean look at her.”
“Oh come on, Spence,” JJ said, rolling her eyes. “She looks like your type.”
“She’s got a point kid,” Rossi coaxed, soon even Garcia and Hotch joined in. Everyone began giving me tips on how to approach the girl, what to say, what to do, and even what pickup line to use.
“Everyone settle down and let the master handle this,” Morgan said, causing a few scoffs to arise.
“All you gotta do, is walk over there, give her a wink, then flash that FBI badge, and boom, you’re golden,” He said, leaning back in his chair with a smile.
“Oh oh, and say ‘You’re under arrest for being too sexy’,” Garcia said, earning a laugh of approval from everyone.
“I don’t know,” I said.
“If you don’t, then I’m gonna go over there and get those digets because damn that girl is fine,” Morgan said with a smirk. I sent a glare in Morgan’s direction before hesitantly standing up, causing my team to start cheering, I quickly hushed them.
As I walked away they all leaned in my direction, they were close enough to hear everything.
I took a deep breath before hesitantly walking over to the girl. “Um, hi,” I said quietly.
The girl turned to me with an annoyed expression on her face, but as soon as she saw me, her expression softened and morphed into a smile that took my breath away. “Hi,” she said back quietly.
I glanced back at Morgan who winked and flashed his badge, hinting for me to do the same.
I nervously turned back to the girl, giving her an awkward wink, and pulling out my badge, “Y-You’re under arrest… For being too sexy,” I stuttered out.
The girl raised her eyebrows, “If you don’t mind, I’d just like to finish my book,” she said, the annoyed look returning to her face. I didn’t have a chance to respond before she turned her attention back to her book.
I let out a sad sigh, mumbling a ‘sorry’ to her before walking away.
“Well that didn’t go so well,” Emily said, stating the obvious. I nodded, “I thought she liked me, she smiled, but as soon as I started talking- it was as if she was disgusted by me.”
Morgan suddenly stood up, “What are you doing?” Garcia asked. “Seeing what this girl’s problem is.”
Morgan walked up to the girl and we all listened closely to what he was saying.
“Excuse me, babygirl?” He greeted. The girl rolled her eyes and look at Derek, she however didn’t smile like she did when she looked at me. Derek held up his badge, “My friend just came to talk to you, and-” the girl cut him off.
“And you decided that since I turned him down that you’d give it a shot to see if you could get laid tonight, sounds like a pretty shitty friend to me, babyboy.” The girl fired, causing JJ to choke on her drink.
“Damn, that was brutal, you think that’s ever happened to ’The Derek Morgan’ before?” She said with a slight laugh.
Morgan however looked deeply offended, but the girl spoke before he could, “I’m sorry to be rude, but I’m kind of over having a bunch of overly confident, egotistical drunk men, hit on me tonight, so if you could please leave me alone, I’d really appreciate it.”
And with that Derek raised his eyebrows, almost saying something, before deciding against it and walking away.
Everyone tried to conceal their laughs as Derek sat back down, his bruised ego very visible.
“Maybe she’s a lesbian,” Emily said with a shrug, causing Derek to roll his eyes, “Or a stuck up-”
JJ didn’t let him finish, “Woah there buddy, maybe she’s just tired of being hit on by jerks like she said. I mean, she smiled at Spence and seemed into him before he started using your 'tips’.”
“She has a point,” Rossi said before turning to me, “Why don’t you give it one more shot kid.”
“But this time, just be your usual m self,” Hotch added in. I shook my head, “She’s already mad.”
“Then go cheer her up,” Rossi said, before getting up and putting his hands under my armpits, pulling me up so I was standing. “Rossi-” I tried, but he stopped me, “Trust me kid, you won’t regret it.”
Before I knew it, my feet had carried me back to the girl, my heart pounding in my chest. She must have heard me come up, because she let out a sigh, however I stopped her before she could say anything.
“I’m sorry,” I said quickly, “I was a jerk earlier, it’s just, I saw you reading earlier and I know this is gonna sound creepy, but I couldn’t take my eyes off of you. I wanted to talk to you, but I was too shy, so my friends-” I pointed to where the team was sitting, they all smile and waved awkwardly.
“They gave me advice on how to talk to you, and I was stupid enough to take it, that guy you met earlier, that wasn’t me, and I would really appreciate it if you gave me a second chance, but I’d understand if you never wanted to see me agan.”
I looked down at my feet, preparing for the worst, but instead of rejecting, I heard a giggle. “Why didn’t you just start with that?” She said, causing my head to snap up in shock.
“I thought you were cute, but then you started acting like a Jerk, and I’d already dealt with too many of those tonight, I’m sorry I was so rude,” she said, her voice filled with guilt at the last statement.
I shook my head, “Don’t be, I shouldn’t have tried to be someone I’m not.”
“Well then who are you?” She asked with a smile.
I returned the smile, “I’m Spencer, Spencer Reid. I have three PhD’s, I can read 20,000 words a minute, have an eidetic memory, and believe it or not, I actually do work at the FBI.” The girl let out a laugh, “I’m sorry, was that too much?”
She laughed again, “No, no, that was good,” she said still laughing. “I’m Y/N, Y/N Y/L/N. I’m going to Med school, I can write a six page essay in the two hours before it’s due, nap all day, and believe it or not, I don’t drink.” She said, shooting a look at the three full glasses that still sat in front of her.
“Why don’t I buy you a coffee sometime then?” I asked, not knowing where all this confidence came from.

“Just one more drink she said, it’ll be fun she said! More like she’ll become a pain in the ass who can’t stand up,” you muttered as you dragged your friend Elizabeth out of the club with the help of your other friend Molly. The three of you had met your freshman year of college at Virginia Tech. Other than having one freshman english class, the three of you had polar opposite class and career tracks. You were a corporate lawyer, Molly was on the fast track to being a neurosurgeon, and Elizabeth was an aspiring painter. The three of you became inseparable and still shared an apartment, six years later. And it was times like this where you were glad you all had that kind of history else you might have killed the two of them by now. When you went out, you usually assumed the duty of being designated driver and “mom” of the night, while your two friends chose to drink ‘til they dropped, literally.
“Look on the bright side, you can give her hell for this and shine a bright light in her eyes in the morning,” Elizabeth mumbled, stumbling slightly due to her drunk state and Molly’s extra weight on her shoulder.
“Yeah right,” you snorted, “We both know that I’ll be handing out ibuprofen and coffee to you both in the morning and saying, ‘poor sweet baby’”.
“True, but hey at least I’m not as much of a pain to handle,” she replied, as you hailed a cab.
“Don’t even go there,” you said playfully bumping her shoulder. The passing cab came to hault and with you and Elizabeth’s combined efforts you managed to settle Molly inside. You reached in your purse for your wallet to ensure you could pay the fair and made a horrible discovery. “Shit, I think I dropped my keys,” you groaned.
“Just run inside and go find ‘em. We can wait.”
“No, it’s fine. I have no idea where I dropped them and this could take awhile. You need to get her home before she gets sick in the car.”
“Ok, just be careful. See you at home,” Elizabeth said. You closed the door of the cab and watched them drive off. You quickly walked back into the bar, not wanting to be outside for two long. You weren’t paranoid, just cautious. You’d heard too many horror stories women getting kidnapped outside of bars late at night. You quickly started scanning the room for a thick wad of keys as you walked back in. Not immediately catching sight of them, you trudged over to the bar.
“Hey, Nick. Has anyone turned in a set of keys in the last ten minutes?” you asked the bartender, who you’d gotten to know since your friends loved this bar.
“Afraid not (Y/N). Only things back here other than little old me are the drinks and a couple of notepads,” he replied cheekily.
“Ha, well that was worth a shot. I’m going to go look over at the booth where we were sitting but if I can’t find them and they get turned in you’ll let me know right?”
“I’ll holler if they turn up.”
“Thanks,” you replied sadly, and dragged your feet over to the booth where you’d been stationed with your friends for the past three hours. You could kick yourself right now. All you wanted was to go home, but instead you were stuck at the bar looking for keys that you weren’ t even sure were there. You looked under the booth, then crawled in and stuck your hand down in the seats hoping maybe the keys had slid down in between.
“Hello, pretty lady. Come back for more already?” some guy slurred as he stumbled toward you. You glanced at him out of the corner of your eye and immediately recognized him as the man who’d spent the majority of the night trying to pick you up. And in turn, you’d spent most of the night trying to get away from him and his awful breath that stank of alcohol, which signalled to you that he’d had way too much to drink.
“Just trying to find my keys,” you replied, casually and kept sliding your hand around the seats.
“Well, maybe I could help you with that,” he muttered, in as sultry of a voice as he could muster up and slid his hand up your thigh and onto your ass.
“What the hell are you doing?” you growled and flipped around, after ripping his hand off you.
“Just trying to get a little play baby.”
“Well find someone who wants to play with you.”
“Aw c’mon, pretty lady. I seen the way you and your friends dance with anything that moves. I just want a little of that attention.”
“And as I have politely told you all night, I’m not interested,” you snapped, using your foot to push him back a few feet. The man glared intently at you and you instantly regretted that last move.
“Now listen here you-”
“Hey buddy, the lady said no so why don’t you back off,” a voice said from behind the man as a hand landed on his shoulder. You flicked your eyes up to the owner of the voice and you savior. Tall, muscular, and handsome as hell. Honestly, he looked more like he belonged in a movie than here in real life rescuing you from some guy.
“Why don’t you mind your own business buddy?” the drunk man sneered, shrugging the foreign hand off of his shoulder. Your hero (as you had labeled him in your head) stepped between you and the drunk.
“It is my business when men like you are harassing a woman. So why don’t you scram before I have the other FBI agents in the room book you for attempted assault and harassment?” he replied flashing a gun and credentials. The man took one last look at you over his shoulder before stumbling off toward the door. “Well, that takes care of that,” he muttered straightening up before turning to you and offering a hand to help you out of the booth. “You alright?”
“Yes,” you replied, taking his hand and pulling yourself out of the booth to stand in front of him. “Thank you so much, I’ve been trying to shake that asshole all night.”
“Sorry I didn’t notice sooner.”
“It’s ok. He wasn’t being that ballsy earlier.”
“Well, no woman deserves to be treated that way,” he said. “Didn’t I see you leaving with your friends a few minutes ago?”
“Yeah, I put them in a cab to head back to our apartment once I realized I had dropped my keys somewhere in the bar earlier,” you told him as you did another scan of the bar. “I was trying to see if maybe they had slid down into the seat when the drunk bastard started creeping on me again.” You turned your eyes back to your companion and found him kneeling on the ground, pulling your keys out from under the booth.
“These what you’re looking for?”
“Yes, thank you so much…”
“Sorry, manners slipped my mind. Derek Morgan,” he replied, handing you your keys.
“(Y/N) (Y/L/N), and given that you just essentially rescued me from some creep minutes ago I’m pretty sure your manners are fine,” you teased fiddling with your keys.
“Like I said, it’s not right to treat ladies that way, especially one’s with smiles as pretty as yours,” he said, flashing a dazzling smile at you. You grinned at him and tucked your hair behind your ear. You were suddenly very aware that you were being watched. Glancing over your shoulder, you noticed a table full of people who were trying to nonchalantly watch the exchange going down between the two of you.
“Well, I think I’m going to get going. I’ve got to drunks to take care of at home and I wouldn’t want to keep you from your friends any longer, but you might want to tell them to try being more discreet if they plan on watch people,” you chuckled.
“I can walk you out if you want,” Derek suggested.
“You’ve been nice enough already, and the bartender is a friend so I’ll ask him to. It was nice to meet you, Derek,” you replied.
“Nice to meet you too, (Y/N),” he said and sauntered off back to his friends. You sighed dreamily and walked up to the bar.
“Success,” you declared, leaning on the bar, and dangled your keys for Nick to see.
“Awesome, now I don’t have to scour the bar for those when I close,” he replied washing glasses.
“Nick, would you mind walking me out to my cab? It’s kind of late,” you asked, slipping said keys back in your purse where they belonged.
“Didn’t Derek offer to walk you out?”
“How did you know that? And second question, you know him?”
“First, I’m a bartender I hear everything. I was about to step in for you earlier, but Derek was ordering a drink and said he would handle it. Second, I don’t know him per say, but the crowd of FBI agents over there are regulars,” Nick explained as he set the glass down and picked up another. “He’s a big hit with girls, but I don’t think he’s seeing anyone.”
“I know what you’re implying, and knock it off. He’s way out of my league,” you shot back.
“C’mon, (Y/N/N). You, my friend, are a catch and he’s a great guy who knows how to treat a woman right.”
“What do you want me to do, Nick? Walk over there and drop my number on a napkin in front of him?”
“Or you can give it to him now since he’s walking over here,” Nick mumbled, suddenly very busy cleaning that glass.
“(Y/N),” Derek said as he walked up beside you.
“Hi again,” you replied.
“Stop me if I’m being too forward, but I was wondering if I could maybe take you out to get a coffee?”
“Like right now?” you asked, raising an eyebrow at him. Derek nodded. “It’s almost one o’clock in the morning.”
“Well, I am a man who believes in living in the present,” he replied chuckling, “but I do see your point.”
“You know what, I know a great diner that makes a mean cup of coffee and a fantastic milkshake,” you mentioned adjusting the strap on your purse.
“Well, Miss (Y/L/N), let’s go,” he said grinning as he offered you his arm. You giggled as you took it. Who knew you’d find your knight in shining armor as a result of losing your keys under a booth?
A/N: ok so when I was writing the first part it suddenly hit me what the conversation with the team would be like after Morgan saves the reader and goes back to the table, but I couldn’t figure out how to work it into the story so I’m including it as a bonus scene. Enjoy :)
“Nice to meet you too, (Y/N),” Derek muttered and strolled back over to the table the other BAU members were perched around, still thinking about (Y/N)’s beautiful eyes and smile.
“So, is she prettier upon closer inspection?” Rossi teased as Morgan leaned against the table.
“What are you talking about?” Morgan asked, snapping out of his stupor.
“Derek, c’mon you are sitting which a group of profilers. Don’t think we haven’t noticed that you’ve been staring at her since we got here,” JJ replied, waggling her eyebrows at him. That was true, the team had arrived about an hour ago to continue their night of bar hopping and that was when Derek had noticed (Y/N). She had thrown the BAU’s resident player off of his game, big time. Instead of approaching and mingling, he’d decided to take the road of observing watching the way her smile lit up her face as she laughed with her friends and swung her hips.
“We also agreed never to profile each other and I haven’t been staring,” Derek grumbled.
“Right, so what’s her name?” Penelope asked leaning toward him.
“And I’m assuming you got her number, so when are you seeing her again?”
“I didn’t get her number,” he replied. A collective groan spread around the table, while Spencer smiled in the corner and extended his hand.
“Told you, now fork it over all of you,” he said victoriously, taking a ten dollar bill from each member of the team.
“They bet that you’d have a date and her number by the time you walked back over here, and I noted the fact that you were ‘off your game’ as you would say, so I bet them you wouldn’t and I definitely won,” Reid explained, smiling smugly.
“Chocolate Thunder, bet aside I expect you to march back over there and score yourself a date else I hack her phone and call her for you,” Penelope threatened, poking his chest.
“I’ll show you who’s not off his game,” Derek grumbled, downing one of the shots that had been for the table before spinning and marching toward the bar where (Y/N) was chatting up the bartender.
So this wasn’t really a request, but I had a dream recently that I just needed to write about so an anon sent in ‘i would kill for some hot smut with morgan tbh, i don’t see it nearly enough’ and honestly I agree we 100% need this amirite. \
Small A/N: if there is anything in the future any of you would like me to tag you in, please feel free to message me! Also, if you write something and would like me to read it, I’d love to do so! Tag me in stuff, I don’t bite!

For the Anon who requested “a crossover of Criminal Minds and NCIS where the reader is married to Morgan and while meeting Gibbs’ team for the case Tony flirts with Reader and Morgan yells at Tony and started to being protective of reader around tony”
You sat at your desk file open in front of you, fingers flying as you entered data points into a grid before transferring them to an online map. Reid usually handled the whole profile ‘map’ thing, but since he was in Vegas seeing his mother, and since you were still in Quantico on a home case you figured you’d give it a shot.
“I am the man!” You whooped, spinning around in your chair, with the intention of announcing your victory to your husband, Emily, and any other team members passing through. Instead you were met with several people you’d never seen before, all wearing visitor badges.
Your hands dropped from their victory stance and your mouth opened slightly as you cheeks flushed. You quickly stood from your seat, coming around the desk, trying to regain an air of professionalism.
“I, uh, Agent (Y/N) Morgan” You offered, looking the group over, “Can I help you with something?” You asked voice going up slightly in the end. No one told you that people were coming in for questioning.
“Why yes you are, and yes you can.” One of the men offered, giving you a charming grin. You raised an eyebrow him momentarily noting the the handsome face and at ease demeanor. A player for sure.
“I am.” You nodded, “And I will. But first I need to know who you are.” You replied easily, earning a smirk from the rest of the group. The man closest to you (not the flirt) was obviously the oldest, he nodded his head at you, producing a badge, holding it up for you to inspect.
“We’re NCIS. I spoke to your director earlier, about the Mulaney case.” You nodded, mouth going into a small ‘o’ as you glanced in the direction of Hotch’s office.
“Well, apparently I am the last to know, however, the man you’re probably looking for Agent…”
“Agent Gibbs, that’s his office there.” You pointed towards Hotch’s closed door and smiled, tucking a piece of hair behind your ear. You expected Gibbs and his entire team to head in the direction you pointed them, and was slightly surprised when the other three people held back, looking around your office curiously.
“I didn’t know they let beautiful woman like you work for the FBI.” The flirty one grinned, leaning casually on the desk you’d previously been sitting at.
“They do when they’re as smart as she is,” Someone said from behind you and you rolled your eyes, feeling lips connect with your cheek, “Got you coffee, and a sandwich, baby girl. I don’t see us getting much down time so eat now.” You chuckled at the cheek kiss. Derek was not usually affectionate at work, but god he couldn’t miss an opportunity to stake his claim. “Hello, I’m Agent Derek /Morgan/.” He practically growled. offering his hand to the flirty man, causing his two teammates to grin and snicker.
“Agent DiNozzo..” He mumbled taking the hand, and you watched as Derek, you sweet loving and ever caring husband asserted his dominance over some poor man who never had a chance.
“Now if you’re done eyeing my wife, we’ll be holding a briefing in the conference room.”
Turns out the NCIS team was going to be joining you on this case, and for most of the week it went as thus. DiNozzo purposely ignoring you. You purposely being extra friendly and attentive with DiNozzo, because you thought it was funny. And Derek practically breathing down the poor man’s neck.
“I want (Y/N) and DiNozzo to go back and recheck all of the alibis, dig a little deeper, see if anything overlaps.” Hotch announced tossing an SUV key at you, which you caught with ease (thank you softball.)
“Hotch.” Derek grumbled, “I think it would be better if I went, let DiNozzo here take Reid to the morgue.”
“Yes.” Tony nodded, and you smirked, rolling your eyes. You put a hand on Derek’s arm, squeezing briefly, shaking your head.
“I’m fine, Hotch, we’re fine. Right DiNozzo?” You asked, and he again nodded his head.
“Yes, of course.”
“Right Morgan?” You asked, turning around and giving a smirk to your big old overprotective husband. He didn’t answer for a moment and you raised your eyebrow, challenging him to say no and admit he was being jealous.
“Of course, dear.” You laughed.
“Good.” You grinned, turning and starting towards the cars, “Come on DiNozzo.” With one more slightly worried look in Derek’s direction Tony took off at a jog after you, eyes focused completely above your head of course. Nowhere else. Never.
Summary: The team doesn’t know about Derek’s new girlfriend until she becomes a vital part of a new case they’re working.
JJ laid the folder in front of each of them. ‘3 women, all kidnapped and murdered in the last two weeks’ Hotch explained. ‘Right here in Washington, the last one was kidnapped yesterday’ He sat and clicked the remote three pictures coming up on the board. ‘They all look the same, that’s a clear link between victims’ Reid observed.
Derek lifted his head to look at the women, they seemed familiar, like he’d seen them before. ‘That’s not the only one’ Prentiss looked at the file. ‘They all work in The Dover Institute, all on the same ward’ That got Derek’s attention. ‘They work where?’ He began flicking through the sheets and sure enough they all worked at the same place. No wonder he had recognized them.
Derek shoved his chair back before hurrying out of the room. ‘Hey, Morgan, wh-’ But Hotch was cut off by the door closing behind the agent. When outside he pulled his phone from his belt and pressing the speed dial.
You looked down at you phone as it began to ring. ‘Excuse me’ You smiled politely at the nurse you were speaking to. Rounding the corner you hit the answer button. ‘Hey Babe’ You smiled chirping into the phone. ‘Let me guess, new case you’ll be gone for a few’ It was always that when he called you at work. ‘New case, right here. Listen to me sweetheart’ He rushed and the smile instantly fell from your face.’Tell them you’re sick go home pack a bag and go to mine, do not let anyone in, do not stop and talk to anyone, always have someone around you. Do not, ever, be on your own until you get into mine, and stay there’ You furrowed your eyebrows.
What was this? Why did he need you to go? You were already understaffed with Aine not turning up for work and Sandra being on holiday. Then there was Denise, you didn’t even want to think about what happened to her, the poor girl’s body was found almost a week ago. ‘Derek, I ca-’ He grunted at the other end. ‘No, Y/n, listen to me. There’s some guy going around killing people from your ward, they look exactly like you. Go to mine. Now’ Your hand flew to your mouth. ‘You-you mean Denise? Is that what happened to Aine? She never showed up today. Oh God’ You fell back into the chair.
You heard his uneven breathing on the other end of the phone. ‘Sweetheart, no, listen, calm down, deep breaths, come on, deep breaths’ You could feel the tears coming in your eyes. ‘Calm down?’ You hissed. ‘Derek, by the way you’re making it sound I’m next, oh god. Poor Aine’ You closed your eyes willing not to cry. ‘Three, there’s been three abductions Y/n, you’re not next, I’m just being safe, please go home beautiful, please’ You froze your body rigid.
Three? ‘Derek, three? There’s only two of us mi-Sandra? She-shes supposed to be on holidays’ You felt a tear slip out of your eye rolling down your cheek. ‘We found another body, three. Sweetheart, go home. Now’ You nodded frantically wiping your tear from your face. ‘Y-yeah, I’ll grab my stuff a-and be at yours in an hour’ You told him. ‘Good, thank you beautiful, ring me when you get back, ring me if you’re alone. Promise’ You nodded again. ‘Promise, I’ll see you later’ You hung up and dropped your head into your hands.

Sprawled out on your bed, your naked form was being admired and touched by a handsome man. He glided his fingers up and down the sides of your thighs as he placed sensual kisses on your stomach. “God, you’re so beautiful.”, whispered Spencer.
Wait what? Spencer? Hold on. Did you just have a wet dream about your nerdy co-worker?
You woke up in your bed covered in sweat as you tried to calm down your flustered state as you panted heavily trying to vaguely recollect the memories of the dream you had just had. It wasn’t a bad dream, in fact, it was amazing. You squeezed your thighs together in hopes of some sort of relief, but all you could do was think about the dream, which made your state even worse.
You sat there in silence as you tried to comprehend what had just happened. You’d been working at the BAU for 4 years now and you had never thought of Spencer that way. Sure he was tall, had gorgeous chiselled cheekbones and never failed to amaze you with his intelligent brain. Oh, God. Here you were thinking inappropriately about your co-worker at 3 in the morning when you had to be in for work at 7. There was no way you were going to act normal in front of him after this strange yet intoxicating image of you and Spencer practically having sex ingrained in your brain. All you could do was try to get back to sleep and hope that the flush would be over in the morning.
Reid x reader:
Imagine the reader being younger than Reid.
Warnings: big age difference, fluff/smut???, talking about cases
The team notices right away that something was on Spencer’s mind. It had been for the past couple months. It starts becoming obvious when boy genius himself starts messing up his facts.
“What’s up with you, pretty boy? Who’s got your panties in a knot?” Morgan asked him on the way out of the office.
The two were tired from a long day at Quantico and ready to be home.
“Knot? What makes you think anyone’s been doing anything with my panties? Did someone say something?” The doctor stuttered.
“Wow there. No I can just tell you have been distracted. Is there something you want to tell me?” Derek raises his eyebrows, stopping at his car.
Reid thinks what the best idea would be. He trusted Morgan but he also looked up to him and wondered what he would think.
“I met someone.” Reid’s mouth speaks before his brain has a chance to catch up.
Morgan can’t say he was surprised, he heard something from JJ but they were all just assumptions.
“A little lady caught the eye of Spencer Reid? Now how does one do that?” Derek smirks.
Reid has a silly grin on his face, he shrugs and looks down at the ground.
“She is- she’s pretty amazing.” He brags.
It was a relief to finally get it off his chest. For the past 3 months he’s been having to keep it a secret. He wouldn’t usually be hanging around people like you. Not unless he was on the job.
Not that there is anything wrong with you. Like he said you are amazing; smart, funny, beautiful. Everything he wanted in a girl.
You were pretty much his dream girl, except you are real.
“So when do I get to meet her?” Morgan wonders.
A question Spencer couldn’t answer. Both of your schedules were pretty full. You and Spencer had talked about meeting your friends next weekend at Rossi’s.
“Soon hopefully.” Spencer said before both him and his coworker made their way home.
When you heard the door start to unlock, you put your book down.
You greet the boy at the door.
You throw your arms around his neck before he has a chance to put anything down. He hugs you back.
“Did you get settled in?” He asks, closing the door with his foot.
You nod, you got into town this morning, Spencer was already at work so you have been at his house all alone. You two planned spending the spring holiday together. A whole week and a half of just you and your boyfriend.
You two untangle from each other and he puts his bag on the hook by the door. You loved Spencer’s house, it was what you wanted yours to look like. Books everywhere, almost OCD clean.
A love of books is what drew you and Spencer together so quickly.
“I think I need to shower.” Spencer announces, taking his coat off and hanging it will his bag.
“I think I’ll join you.” You smile and follow after him to the bathroom.
Spencer and you had been enjoying your time here. Times where he was at work, which seemed to be a lot, you found something to do.
You were never really bored, Spencer had an abundance of books and the city was interesting to explore.
You two were laying in bed, you were nearly asleep when his phone started ringing.
“Hello?” He answers, you knew he was asleep because he sounded half asleep. “Okay.” He says before hanging up.
“Who was that?” You ask curiously.
He starts getting up from bed, wearing only his robe.
“We have a case. They need me.” He gets into his dresser.
You frown, “It’s nearly two in the morning.” You whine.
He walks over to you leaning over you. “It’s all part of the job.” He kisses your lips and starts to get dressed.
You begin to doze off, the last thing you remember is Spencer covering you with a blanket and kissing your forehead.
When you open your eyes, the sun is flooding through the window, it’s just past noon.
You sit up, the house still empty. You check your phone and there is a message from Spencer. He says they had to go to New York for a case but shouldn’t be long.
You groan, you had homework to do but you wanted Spencer. You laid in bed for another hour before actually getting up. You made coffee and started right up on your homework.
You only stopped twice, to make something to eat and when Spencer called.
“I’m sorry, this really isn’t what I wanted to happen.” He apologizes over the phone.
“It’s okay, it’s your job. People need your brains.” You smile.
You can hear his laugh over the phone. You missed him, you were happy to be at his house than in your town. At least when he comes back you will be here.
“You doing okay-” Spencer starts.
“Who’s that?” You hear a voice on the other end of the line.
“I- I gotta go.” Spencer rushes.
You exchange goodbyes and hang up the phone. You knew Spencer hadn’t told his team about you. It was obvious why, you couldn’t help but feel he was embarrassed of you but you knew better than that.
You knew Spencer’s feelings for you were real, he cared so much about you and never missed a chance to show you.
Spencer had been talking to you about going to meet some of his friends tomorrow. They are meeting up at a coworkers house and he wanted you to meet them.
You couldn’t help but be nervous. He spoke so highly about his friends, you wondered what they would think.
The rest of the night you read and watched tv on your phone. Spencer of course did not have a tv which you found ridiculous. He was not that into electronics but everyone needs a tv.
You tried to stay up as late as you could, not knowing when Spencer would be home. When you found yourself falling asleep while reading a book, you knew it was time to call it a night.
It was almost 3am and you could barely keep your eyes open. You changed into one of Spencer’s shirts, surprisingly you hadn’t really worn one before. Spencer wasn’t the type of boyfriend who just gave away his shirts.
He doesn’t gets how sexy it is.
With that, you cuddled up in his bed by yourself and drifted to sleep. The next morning you woke up again around noon. You lifted your head up in bed to catch sight of the sleeping boy next to you.
A smile spread across your face, his hair is sprawled out across the pillow.
You roll closer to him and kiss his bare shoulder. You rub his back as he starts stirring. He rolls to face you and you automatically gasp.
“Spencer.” You say.
“Don’t worry, it’s not as bad as it looks.” He scrunched up his beaten face.
You cup his face, “This is the thing I don’t like about your job.”
“I know.” He smiles and pulls your head down to kiss your lips.
“Come on, let’s go out to breakfast.” He suggests.
The rest of the day was amazing. You two go out to breakfast then he spends the rest of the day reading to you. Your head in his lap as he reads The Narrative of John Smith to you. You notice he barely has to look at the book but that doesn’t surprise you much.
You two start getting ready to go to Reid coworkers house.
“Are you sure you want me to come?” You look at him through the mirror of the bathroom while drying your hair, a towel wrapped around your body.
“Yes, you are an important person in my life. I want you to meet the other important people.” He comes up behind you and kisses your cheek.
Having him by your side makes you feel better about everything. When you guys load into the car, you take his hand. He smiles at you, you can tell he is nervous too.
He cares so much about his team, if they don’t approve it with crush him. When you get to the nice sized house you park out front. You both sit in the car for a couple minutes.
“I’m really excited to meet your friends, Spence. I just want you to know, if they don’t like me it won’t change anything between us.” You comfort him. You have met the team before, it was before you and Spencer had even met.
“I think they are going to love you. I think it’s just at first they will be… confused.” He says.
You two finally exit the car and make your way to the door of the modern house. Spencer knocks and plays with his fingers while waiting for it to open. When it does there is a Middle aged man on the other side of the door.
He looks at you, then to Spencer then back to you before finally greeting you.
“Well hello. You just be Y/N.” He reaches out to shake your hand. “I’m David Rossi.”
You smile and shake his hands, “I’ve heard great things about you. It’s nice to meet you.”
He invited us in and there are multiple other people standing around the kitchen island.
All eyes go over to you guys and you can see the shock on everyone’s face. You wait for someone to say something and luckily Rossi finally does.
“This is Y/N, everyone.” He introduces you. He tells you everyone else’s name.
You smile at everyone and you and Spencer slowly start to merge with the group.
“Hi, it’s nice to meet you.” Prentiss says.
She seems very nice, you already had heard so much about the team, you felt like you knew them.
“Weren’t you at the college campus we were at?” She asks.
You were surprised she remembered. They came to your college and did a presentation about what they do in the BAU. It’s actually where Spencer and you met.
“Ah! That’s where I recognized you from! You were the girl who knew everything about everything.” JJ jumps in.
You’re honored that’s what they remember about you. It’s not that you knew everything about everything, it’s just no one in your class know much about anything. So when they asked questions you were the only one who really answered.
“Well it’s good to see you again.” Prentiss says.
You nod, this is going a lot better than You’d thought.
“So how did you and Spencer get together?” They asks.
You are a bit embarrassed, it makes you feel even younger to explain how you started seeing each other.
“Well after the lecture I actually came up and asked him a couple follow up questions.” You had already thought he was attractive from the beginning of the lecture. “He answered most of them but gave me his card in case I had anymore questions. So I called him the next weekend.”
Now it’s been a couple months. Time is really flying by.
Spencer walks up beside you, you smile at him. You think he just wants make sure you are all getting along. You actually really like Prentiss and JJ.
“Can I get you guys any wine?” Rossi offers Spencer and You. That’s when You notice almost all the rest of the team has a glass of wine.
You look up at Spencer awkwardly and he scratches his head.
“She can’t uh-” He starts.
“I won’t be 21 for a couple more months.” You finish.
The team is all the sudden quiet, all the conversations that seemed to be had suddenly stopped.
Reid is quite a bit older than you He celebrated his 32nd birthday this last fall.
“So your 20?” Garcia clears up. Her and Morgan are standing together. You so would think they were together but from what You heard from Spencer that’s just how their relationship is.
You nod and everyone stays silent.
“Well I guess Reid isn’t the baby if the group anymore.” Derek finally days.
You don’t know whether to laugh or be insulted. You take a step closer to Spencer. His hand finds yours.
“ I mean we all were joking you would be perfect for him during the lecture.” Rossi says.
“Yeah, you sounded so much like him it was kind of scary. Having one Reid around is intimidating enough.” Hotch smiles.
You think Spencer was right. It was a little awkward at first but after they get to know you, your age difference won’t even be a thought in their mind.
You look up at Spencer and smile at him. He smiles at you and kisses your forehead.
Next you just have to worry about telling your parents.
a/n: heyyyy, so i posted this earlier but due to me rushing in posting it, the formatting was a bit messed up but like it’s cool now. hope you enjoy!
warning(s): mentions of alcohol, references to divorce, and an unspecified injury. that’s all i see atm but ask to tag if i missed anything!!
aaron hotchner: honestly he doesn’t even really notice when he says it, he says it like it’s the most normal thing one day in the morning when he says goodbye to you before he goes on a case and it takes him a good five minutes to realize that he’s just told you that he loves you. would call before getting on the jet to talk with you and he just dances around the subject of what he has said to you for the entire phone call but right at the end, you tell him that you love him too and he actually blushes but quickly hides it so his team doesn’t know what’s up. of course they figure out because they are a team of highly trained profilers but that’s beyond the point.
david rossi: look. after his three divorces, he is a little skeptical that he can ever find love again. he doesn’t even know if love exists or if it is all one big lie. of course, then he meets you. he meets you and after awhile, you start dating. and he feels kinda warm and fuzzy after you’ve been together for almost a year, like in a way he never really felt with his past wives. the whole team knows what’s up with him but he just refuses to admit it? he refuses to admit he could find love? and so it’s one night after dinner and you two are just lounging on the couch and he looks at you and smiles and his eyes are shining- he has had too much to drink but right now he doesn’t care and he just says ‘i love you’ because it’s true. you smile and return the words, in the morning he tries to pretend like he doesn’t remember but he does, but acknowledging it makes it real.
“Excuse me?” You say, tapping a blonde woman in a blazer on the shoulder. “Do you know where I can find Doctor Spencer Reid?”
You read the name off a card that was given to you by Dr. Reid himself whenever he met you for a genetic analysis of the most recent suspect’s DNA in their case in northern Virginia.
“Oh, hi, I’m Agent Jennifer Jureau or JJ and you are?” She extends a hand toward you and you shake it lightly.
“I’m Dr. (Y/F/N), genetic analyst and forensic criminologist, odd combo, I know.” You smile, dropping JJ’s hand. “Dr. Spencer Reid contacted me about conducting a genetic analysis on Mr. Louis Green for your case and I had some very interesting findings.”
You pull your manila file closer to your chest as JJ leads you to a little office where Spencer had set up.
“Spence, there is a Dr. (Y/F/N) here with some results that you requested.” JJ shuts the door behind you as you make your way closer to the man that requested your assistance.
“Hi, Dr. (Y/F/N), it’s great to see you again.” Spencer smiles as you hand him the file.
“Please, call me (Y/N). The only people that actually refer to me as ‘doctor’ are my parents,” you laugh.
Spencer chuckles slightly as he speeds through your findings. “With Mr. Green,” you start. “The reason why your eye witness testimonies and DNA testing doesn’t match is because he has a rare genetic disorder in which the DNA in his blood differs from the DNA in his semen. His blood was tested against the semen in the rape test kit, which rendered the results inconclusive. He most likely absorbed a twin in the womb before the twin was detected and inherited the DNA from there.”
“A human chimera,” Spencer whispers. He closes the file and looks up at you. “Thank you so much, (Y/N). This helps our case tremendously.”
“It’s really no problem. I’m happy to help any time.”
Spencer walks out of the room with the file in hand as Morgan gives him a clap on the back.
“Hey, it’s one step in the right direction, lover-boy,” Morgan chuckles. You could hear them through the door, but waited to see where the conversation was going.
“(Y/N) is an amazing genetic analyst and is extremely smart, I just asked for a professional opinion. From one doctor to another.” You can see Spencer start to blush a little and you can feel heat rising to your cheeks too.
“Alright, if that’s all you wanted, then you won’t mind if I ask (Y/N) out then, hm?” Anyone could tell that Morgan was just trying to get on Spencer’s nerves, and it was working.
“I’m just joking, kid. You go get ‘em, just make sure (Y/N) doesn’t leave before you ask.” He walks away and as soon as he passed the office you were in, you stepped out. You head toward the doors, hoping Spencer will stop you before you get there. As soon as you have a hand on the door, you hear someone call your name.
“(Y/N)!” Spencer jogs over to catch up with you at the front of the station. “I was wondering if you would like to meet up sometime away from work? Maybe go see a foreign film or go to the Smithsonian together.”
“I would love to see a foreign film sometime, but the Smithsonian sounds like a better option. We can actually talk without disturbing anybody,” you laugh.
“That sounds great.” Spencer takes your card from you before opening the door to the station. “I’ll let you know when the case is over so we can go to the museum!” he called after you.
“Perfect. Talk to you soon.” You hop in your car and just take a second to process what happened.
Spencer walks back inside and shows Morgan your card. “Guess who asked?”
Imagine Garcia accidentally discovering that you and Morgan are an item when she calls him early in the morning and hears your voice in the background.
For the first time in weeks, your phone wasn’t what woke you up at an ungodly hour in the morning. This time, it was your boyfriend. You opened one eye to glance at the alarm clock to see what time it was. You knew Derek wouldn’t just wake up at 3:51 AM for no reason, so you sat up a bit and opened both eyes to look at him. You wanted to cry when you realized he was on the phone.
“Oh my God, please don’t tell me we have a case.” You whined, not even thinking about who exactly could’ve heard you until Derek looked at you with wide eyes. That’s when you heard Penelope yelling out questions like, “Was that who I think it was?!” and “Is (Y/N) at your house?!” and “Are you together?!” You let out a sigh and whispered, “Sorry.”
The truth was you and Derek had been together for nearly eight months now. It started off with playful banter and flirting until one day he asked you out to lunch, and then asked you to be his girlfriend. The two of you had decided to keep it a secret due to FBI fraternization policy. It had been hard hiding your feelings for each other in the field, especially since you were called away so often. You were always together but you rarely got time to enjoy each other, but the two of you made it work because you loved each other.
Derek finally managed to get Garcia off the phone after answering some of her questions and couldn’t keep a straight face when he looked to you. “I have good news, and I have bad news. Which one do you want to hear first?” He asked, the smile never leaving his face.
“Bad news,” You decided, since you pretty much knew what he was about to say – or at least you thought you did.
You were surprised when he said, “The bad news is Penelope’s pissed, but the good news is we don’t have to deal with it until tomorrow.” With that, you let out a breath of relief and placed your head on his chest, listening to his heartbeat and letting the rising and falling of his chest slowly put you back to sleep. You were almost out when you got a bit curious, “If we don’t have a case, why the hell did she call you this late?”
Derek laughed a little and shrugged. “I don’t think it was that important. If it was, she’ll call back when she forgives us.” Then, the two of you went back to sleep and the next thing that woke you up wasn’t Derek, but a text from Garcia that said, “I love you, but I’m still calling him Chocolate Thunder.”
