depth mental

i just saw a post where someone reposted a panel from oyasumi punpun and edited out the original caption and replaced it w some nonsense like “existing has been kinda hard lately”

like. did u honestly need to edit oyasumi punpun for ur sad anime aesthetic. thats literally what it already is and its 13 volumes of build up and in-depth analysis of mental illness does it way better than u ever could

No secret can be kept from a Scorpio. And they have brilliant, hypnotic talents for drawing the concealed truth from other people. Scorpio’s innate reflex is to defend themselves from perceived rejection or trauma. Their survival instinct is reactive and programmed to scrutinise anyone who crosses their path. And this scrutiny generates from tremendous perception, a sixth sense unmatched by any other. Scorpio are acute observers. In every moment, they are secretly, consciously, or unconsciously surveilling everything. The individual typically remains intensely private. Trust is difficult to gain, and it’s not so much given but earned. Inherent fears of betrayal and deception create natural suspicious. There is an inborn fear of betrayal and treachery in Scorpio. Visions of past and present life trauma re-enact themselves in everyday life, the shadows that dwell in the mind and body are projected and worn of the faces of those they pass.

Scorpios are fond of anything that involves penetrating mental depths and delusion. Their x-ray eyes have lenses that read the language of soul and spirit. A deep lulling stare into the Scorpio eyes could make one mesmerised. Their natural love of legal and criminal justice, psychoanalysis, investigation, forensics, and secret agent work reflects the cryptic and subliminal Scorpio expression. Their natural psychoanalytic gaze draws the truth from people like potent truth serum. And they spend copious time analyzing their own - and other people’s psychological behaviour. All is revealed to Scorpio. Actions speak the loudest words.

I have had to experience so much stupidity, so many vices, so much error, so much nausea, disillusionment and sorrow, just in order to become a child again and begin anew. I had to experience despair, I had to sink to the greatest mental depths, to thoughts of suicide, in order to experience grace.

I have this default flaw in my personality where I am unable to express my innermost thoughts/problems/emotions to those close to me because I don’t want to burden them or look like I’m seeking attention or become that ‘boring’ person who’s always having some sort of mental health related crisis, but I am perfectly okay with talking in depth about my mental health on a public blog where literally anyone could read it if they wanted???

If you think a Leo is overly superficial with no depth, You’re wrong. A Leo only opens up to those we feel hit every note. Emotional depth isn’t enough, mental stimulation isn’t enough, physical intimacy isn’t enough, we need all three. If you want to see a Leo’s deep side, we must KNOW you are our equal. We must feel that we won’t burn you out. Sure you may be able to have deep discussions of the heart, but can you stay up at all hours of the night with us too? Are you fun? Will we be intellectually and physically stimulated at the same time? This is what we’re looking for (hence why we tend to lean toward other fire and air signs).

I have had to experience so much stupidity, so many vices, so much error, so much nausea, disillusionment and sorrow, just in order to become a child again and begin anew. I had to experience despair, I had to sink to the greatest mental depths, to thoughts of suicide, in order to experience grace.

It’s getting tiring that people can’t wrap their heads around the fact that things like mental illness and LGBTQ representation aren’t talked about in the exact same way globally.

KS is a Korean comic that takes place in South Korea, featuring Korean characters, written by a Korean person. To really determine whether or not its content or creator is being ableist/homophobic/whatever you need to be aware of how these things work in South Korea.

While a western artist might be totally okay with going in-depth about their mental health, gender, sexuality, etc etc, in many asian cultures (dare I say most?) these topics are generally seen as something you just don’t talk about. Period.
It would be incredibly ignorant to not take this into account when reading Koogi’s replies in the fan event, for example. It’s entirely possible for Koogi to be LGBT, it’s entirely possible for Koogi or someone she knows to have BPD, or be abuse victims, but this is something she’s most likely never going to talk about, because of what that would mean in the culture she grew up in. (And honestly, this trend of having to explain your situation to literal strangers is pretty new in general, but I’ve noticed it’s way more common on predominantly western platforms.)

Basically, using her replies as some sort of “gotcha!!!” is futile, because they don’t really tell you anything. Using the english translation of the comic itself isn’t necessarily “proof” either, since a lot of Korean native speakers have pointed out some very big mistakes in the official translation (not to mention fan translations).

Cultural context matters, stop pretending that it doesn’t just so you can be a bully on the blue hellsite.

but what i want to know is if even’s okay. did he eat? drink water? where did he sleep? what did the police say? this character of even is so beautiful because there’s so much depth to him and mental illness is so difficult to portray but i bet henrik did so much research before tackling this, he did such a good job last night, he really did.

Hey!! I was wondering if you can educate me and go in depth about mental age regarding nonverbal autistic people? Like, how is it fake? (This is not meant to sound rude, I apologize if it came out like that. I'd just genuinely like to know more about it after seeing your post. Thank you!!)

Mental ages causes people to speak to and treat a disabled person like they only understand the world as a tiny kid would instead of being treated and spoken to like they are their actual adult age. Children are seen as “not knowledgeable” because they’re young and lack life experience.

An actual 22 month old baby isn’t going to know a thing about, say, physics. But a 22 year old intellectually disabled person might read a lot about it and know a little or a lot.

But, because someone was told “they have the mind of a 22 month old baby”, they get dismissed, treated like they don’t know what they’re talking about or excluded because it’s assumed they won’t understand “adult” things.

This issue is even more profound in nonverbal autistic people who need lots of daily help and can’t make their communications understood because they get equated to babies who only babble and haven’t mastered speech. The mental age thing equates them to a more primitive time in human development, so it’s an assumption that their brain is too underdeveloped to understand anything going on around them.

A 3 month old baby probably won’t understand grown-ups talking trash about them, but a 30 year old autistic adult will know they’re being talked about in a mean way as if they don’t exist. And they WILL know, even if they have issues with processing spoken words like @lysikan.

Mental ages are insulting and ableist. It’s insulting to assume somebody isn’t smart purely based on how they present themselves.

There are conspiracy theorists who think Stephen Hawking, who has advanced ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), is a government puppet. They claim he’s some poor “mentally r*tarded” old man being paraded around to lie about science while somebody else makes his computer talk. It’s disgusting ableism. It’s a sign of everything wrong with society’s view of disabled people because these conspiracy theorists refuse to see that he is a brilliant man with a very obvious disability that affects how he communicates with the world.

And that’s their loss, because Stephen will just laugh at them and keep on discovering stuff while they squabble about his “fake science” being a conspiracy.

I had to experience despair, I had to sink to the greatest mental depths, to thoughts of suicide, in order to experience grace, to hear Om again, to sleep deeply again and to awaken refreshed again. I had to become a fool again in order to find Atman in myself. I had to sin in order to live again. Whither will my path lead me yet? This path is stupid, it goes in spirals, perhaps in circles, but whichever way it goes, I will follow it.

So Robert cheated...I hate that, I do. But its what he said about Aaron He actually said what Chas said on the beach- "I thought you were over all that"- about self-harming. And then he went on to say MUCH worse. And I've seen some fans this morning still not getting the depth of Aaron's mental health issues. ED NEED to give Aaron therapy. Don't obviously trust them at all now but seriously? He is going through so much pain and not even Robert understands now.

Everything he said about Aaron hurt me more than anything else. I’ve always said Robert has never understood Aaron’s issues and he clearly doesn’t still. I was hopeful that Aaron would finally get some proper help for his mental health but I have literally no faith in the show to do it.

Waiting for the Joker Game OVA like…

this is just my two cents on the video and what not

so i think if you are uncomfortable by the video that’s completely validated. there are a number of triggering images that are definitely going to make people uncomfortable and i for one want to honor that and tag a tw “joke” on all the posts i will reblog because i don’t want your dashboard to be an unsafe environment for you. but to say that the intent of the video was to be prejudiced towards disabled people or people with mental health issues is also a bit of an unfair assumption.

we cannot assume that he himself is exactly the most mentally healthy person either. and through all the things he’s been talking about in interviews about loneliness, feeling lost, having a hard time understanding himself and working in this type of industry etc. it’s clear that maybe there is more depth to his own mental health situation that any of us can understand.

mental health is a personal struggle that i don’t think we can put assumptions forth for. yes, the images may have been intense, triggering, and albeit extreme, but we don’t know the personal value and worth of this video in correlation to his own state of being.

i’m just saying that sometimes it seems that people are a certain way on the surface, but underneath that appearance, there is always more that meets the eye.

but like i said, i don’t expect you to feel the same way as me, but i hope that my opinion is understood. that is why i will continue to feel comfortable to post images or references to the MV, but i will also make sure you feel comfortable with my posts too. i’m not trying to start an argument by any means and hope that i do not cause overt triggers to anyone. i will try my best to keep you safe on your dash.
