I just finished creating my “Steampunk Time Traveler Robot” for Bean Pot Toiz. As I was invited to create art for ShevaCon and the theme this year is SteamPunk, I decided to utilize this piece in two ways!
This vinyl toy will be going to “Bean Pot Toiz” where it will be available to purchase…
I will be collaborating with artist Randy Martinez on a piece for ShevaCon & we will incorporate an image of this robot I created into the piece! (^.^)
Creating this piece was quite a challenge for me in many ways due to the mediums I used! This was the first time I’ve ever used Patina & Antiquing tehcniques so I was excited & nervous! As my Robot is a time traveler I wanted to give him a specific look!
After priming it, I started off painting it with Pure ground copper & blackened bronze! Then I treated certain areas with a little Patina green Antiquing solution. Other objects on my robot include a watch, turn key, compass, leather, nuts, beads, crystalized gems & more! I learned so much along the way & really had a lot of fun!
I’ve got lots of projects in the works so be sure to follow me here!
My Art Work will be Featured at the Chuck Jones Gallery in San Diego CA during SD Comic Con 2011. I will have several pieces on display and for sale include these beauties I have posted here. In addition Denise Vasquez and I will be signing our books Sketch Card Mania and Creature Features during the Saturday evening opening! Lots of cool stuff! Come and see!
The Chuck Jones Gallery is right when you cross the threshold of the Gaslamp distract. You know that arch as you are crossing the street from the COnvention Center? IT’s right past that.
