Patrick sat opposite you in your favourite Chinese restaurant. A candle and flower in a vase sat in the middle of the table giving your evening a flare of romance. He rested his head on his hand as he listened to you talk about your long day at work. After 10 minutes you realised… he wasn’t interested. You laughed to your self, rubbing your forehead in frustration.
“I’m sorry, I’m boring you with my conversation aren’t I? Patrick swiftly reached across the table and grabbed your hand. “Oh my god, Y/N. I’m sorry that you’d ever think you were boring me. If I ever gave you that impression I’m sorry. I adore you and love to hear about your days…. But to be honest I wasn’t totally listening to everything you said, as I can’t stop thinking about how much I’m in love with you.” Patrick still stayed staring into your eyes, but you at this point were on the verge of crying with happiness. Your man knew how to make you feel good - even if he wasn’t listening to what you were saying.
“I also wasn’t listening because I’m trying to think of a way to word the next thing I’m going to say to you…” his words made your eyes widened.
He slowly knelt on the floor in front of you and then held out his hand to you. You held it while covering your mouth with your other hand.
“For once in my life, I don’t have to try to be happy, when I’m with you, it just happens… when I looked into your eyes I didn’t see just you, I saw my today, my tomorrow, and my future for the rest of my life. I’ve been in love with you for 8 years now and I will never stop. So, Y/N will you do me the honor of becoming my wife?”
