the cold loft was deserted as you laid in the middle of your bed, beads of sweat ran down your sore skin and your breathing was coming out harder than usual. you’d turned down the AC as soon as you’d woken up, the icy air doing very little to calm your raging hot skin. you had lived with derek and issac in the loft for 6 months after being turned by scott and having no where else to go; at first you thought of yourself as an inconvenience yet derek and issac constantly reassured you that you weren’t. al though they had said it many times, you still didn’t bother them with any of your problems and tried to keep to yourself in your room.

One And Only

IMAGINE: Both Mary and John know that (Y/N) has Sherlock wrapped around her finger. Sherlock, being Sherlock refuses to believe this. Can one dance change his mind?

He stood there bashfully, no not bashful but just not wanting to interact with people. He was watching her, like what he did with others. He deduced her and found her fascinating, he usually wasn’t attracted to anyone, he was a lone wolf with the exception of his brother and John. Why was he suddenly feeling this way?

He saw her dance with her colleague, maybe? Or her friend? Either way he was jealous and he did not like feeling this way. Although lately he’s been feeling jealous if there was a guy anywhere near her, or who looked at her like a piece of meat. He felt possessive over her.

She was beautiful today, like any other day. She was wearing casual clothes, her hair up in a bun and a smile that graced her face. How did he get to meet her?

“Hello you.” She greeted him as she walked up to him. “What are you doing here all alone?” She gave him a hug which he hesitantly returned.

“Hello. You know me, this is a good place to observe.” He waved his hand around and gave her a small smile.

“Well, stop observing and dance with me. This is a club, you know? You dance, you socialise and you don’t deduce,” she laughed, not at him but with him. “So, come on stop it and have fun!” Her voice went a bit husky at the end and he felt unnecessary  blood flowing between his legs.

“Can I just sit here instead? I haven’t been to one of these, I don’t know what to do.”

“Alright fine,” she pouted, “but let me buy you a drink and we can socialise together.” She winked at him as she walked over to the bar.

He walked over to a free booth and sat down. ‘This place is odd.’ “She’s got you wrapped around your finger huh?” He heard John as he sat down next to him. “She’s good for you Sherlock. You both deserve each other.” Mary who sat next to him nodded enthusiastically. “See? Mary agrees with me.”

“What are you talking about?” Sherlock feigning innocence. “We are nothing but friends.”

“But friends turn into lovers Sherlock,” Mary put her input in, “and I can see the way she looks at you she feels the same way. That girl is enamoured with you.”

Sherlock couldn’t help but feel something stir inside him. ‘Well this is a weird feeling.’ “Wow, Sherlock Holmes speechless, that’s one for the books.” John teased him as he sipped his beer.

“What’s this? Sherlock being speechless?” He saw her as she tried not to tip over the beers she was holding. “Who managed to make him speechless? I want to personally meet them.” She winked at him as she slid over next to him.

‘She smells like fruit. Apple and grapefruit, not one of those really fruity smells, just the right ratio. And it smells heavenly.’  “No one’s managed to make me speechless.”

“Well, that’s sad.” She laughed along with John and Mary.

“How was your trip to the bar?” Sherlock asked, he wasn’t good at this. Never was. That’s why he stayed out of dating.

She gave him a confused look, “It was fun, I guess? I got a discount off the beers.”

He saw John silently chuckling to himself and gave him a glare. “Well, this is a great club. How did you find this?”

She shrugged, “It isn’t really a bar, more like a get together social thing.” She furrowed her brows and laughed. “I know, what a great description but that’s the best I can do. That’s why I’m friends with you, you’re great at describing things.” She winked at him and scooted closer to him.

“That’s why you’re friends with me?”

“Of course.” She linked her arms around Sherlock’s neck and nuzzled his neck. “I’m kidding. You’re a great man, there’s a lot more reasons as to why I’m friends with you but I can’t be bothered.”

Sherlock felt heat rush up to his neck and face. John raised one of his eyebrows at him. “Excuse me?” Sherlock and John’s stare were interrupted by a man. “Sorry to bother, but I was just wondering if you would like to dance?” He turned to her and offered his hand.

He saw her blush and felt jealousy creeping in again. “Sorry,” she briefly looked at Sherlock, “I’m feeling a bit tired and I just don’t feel like dancing.” She gave him one of her trademark smiles.

“Oh, okay then.” He gave her a brief grin and walked away.

Sherlock felt relieved and relaxed in his spot. The four of them talked on for about 25 minutes until she heard her favourite song. “Ladies and Gentleman now is the time to take your loved ones out to dance floor.”  The song ‘One and Only’ by Adele began.

“I love this song!” She exclaimed as she jumped out of the booth. “Dance with me please?” She held out her hand to Sherlock who had an impassive look on his face. “I always dance to this song.”

John and Mary watched the scene unfold before them. They really did think that she was perfect for Sherlock. They complimented each other, very well infact.

Sherlock felt the odd sensation in his stomach again. It felt nice. He didn’t reply to her but just took her hand and led them to the dance floor. “I thought you were tired?” He held her waist as one of her hands clutched his arm and took his other hand.

“Can I tell you a secret?” She whispered into his ear. He nodded. “I just didn’t want to dance with him, I wanted to dance with someone else.” She rested her head on his chest.

‘This feels nice. More than nice. Indescribable.’ “Who?”

“Guess. You’re good at this.” She felt his chest rumble with a silent laugh. “Figured it then did you?”

‘Yes.’ He responded with a hum. ‘I could get used to this.’ He gripped her waist a bit tighter and she hugged him tighter.

John and Mary who were still sitting in the booth both smiled at each other and raised their glasses. “Who do you think will ask first?” Mary asked her husband.

“Her.” Mary laughed and nodded. “But the first to say I love you? Him.”

“The fridge light washes this room white, moon dances over your good side”

The one where it’s 3am and he thinks you’re beautiful

She was the only quiet he wanted, content with unspoken words being heard in soft smiles in hair and kisses on foreheads worn like crowns and he’d give anything to capture moments like these in picture frames so he’d be sure he’d never lose them. He was crazy about her. He could tell you exactly what made her smile that day two years ago, even if it was just for a moment. Don’t get me wrong, she was head over heals for him too, she’d memorised the deep lines in his palms that cupped her cheeks perfectly and she knew from first glance that he would know how to hold her.

He wasn’t completely sure what it was that had woken him up but he thinks it was the realisation that her breath was no longer on his neck. So he makes his passed the discarded clothes and Polaroids strung together on walls, looking for her, and when he finds her he swears to this day that he stopped breathing. She was wearing one of his shirts and it was just hanging off her back, her hair in a top knot that kind of looked like a baby had been pulling at it but to him she made it work. Her skin was illuminated but the dull glow of the refrigerator light and her thighs had bruises which made he’s heart ache with pride because she’s wearing proof of his fingertips from the night before.

The radio is on and it’s playing the song she attached to that drunk guy they met and that party one time because she’s the kind of girl who’d attach songs to people and hate it when they stop being important because the songs still are. She hasn’t noticed he’s there yet, hasn’t seen his fond smile and his eyes that had that glimmer in them that only she could provoke but he figures she’ll notice soon and when she does she’ll lean against the open refrigerator door and she’ll sigh out a ‘hi’ and he won’t say anything because words aren’t needed, he’ll just walk over to her so he can do what he’s wanted to do since finding her in the kitchen 15 minutes ago. He’ll kiss her, almost as soft as her voice, and when they pull apart he’ll rest his forehead on hers and the radio will start to play a slow love song about how the guy finally got the girl, and they’ll dance.

Deleted shot from TFP of Sherlock after he smashes the coffin. He’s a real mess here when compared to the actual shot they included afterward. Though he was visibly shaking in that one as well. Makes me wonder exactly how long he sat there when John finally thought it was safe to get him to talk again. And if this is not enough proof of how much Molly means to Sherlock, I don’t know what does. Hats off to Benedict’s performance.

“1, 2, 3, 4…” Peter closed his eyes, leaning his forehead on the stone wall as the memories of Lucy’s very first encounter with the magical land of Narnia flooded his thoughts, a smile being graced on his face.

Susan pulled Lucy up along the giant rocks outside Aslan’s How step by step until they managed to reach the very top and hid in a tree, and Caspian ran off into the woods nearby where he hid in a hole, leaving you and Edmund with nowhere to go.

“… 73, 74, 75…”

“Quick, I know where we can hide!” You whispered to Edmund as you grabbed his hand and ran briskly into Aslan’s How, stopping at the very back to find the secret stairwell Aslan had only told you about. As you knocked quietly on different spots of the wall trying to find the entrance, Edmund sucked air in nervously behind you.

“What’re you doing?! Peter’s going to find us!”

“Shh, Ed! Trust me, no one’ll find us —“ you stopped your sentence half way as you knocked on the right brick. In robust, speedy movements, the stone wall opened up to form a set of stairs leading down to another room.

“What the bloody hell…”

“Come on!” you didn’t hesitate to reach your hand out to Edmund as he stood there looking at you with excitement. Pulling him down the spiral staircase, you two were greeted by a dark, confined, and dusty room, with a small bed in one corner.

“What— is— this place?” Edmund choked out between coughs.

You rubbed your hands over your legs, trying to get rid of the multiple spider webs surrounding your body. “It’s a room, obviously.”

“Yeah, but why’s it here?” Edmund placed his head back on the wall as he proceeded to sit down on the carpeted floor.

“Aslan created it for me. I would come down here whenever I was feeling upset or wanting to be alone, where no one could find me. It’s been awhile since I felt that way… The room used to be a lot more visually pleasing than this, though.” Letting out a quiet laugh, you sat down next to Edmund and closed your eyes, sighing contently.

Even through the dark you could feel Edmund smiling at you, and so, you found his hand and clasped your nimble fingers around it, giving it a light squeeze. This wasn’t uncommon in your and Edmund’s friendship. Holding hands, hugs, eye contact, and smiles were how you showed one another that your long-lasting friendship was still intact and that you were there for each other. You two first met during the reign of Jadis, 1 year ago in human time, 1300 years ago in Narnian time.

The Pevensies’ met you, the odd American in Narnia, at Aslan’s Camp. You were a newcomer, just like them, and was also part of the prophecy. You still clearly remember the day you were deemed a queen of Narnia by Aslan.

“… And to the august Western Mountains, Queen (Y/N) the Bold.”

Sharing many of the same qualities as Edmund, it was only natural that it you two were to become close friends. However, there was something hidden deep within the prophecy, which remained known to only Aslan.

When those who seek adventure cross the same path, they will encounter, later on, love’s true wrath.

You sought out adventure, just the same as Edmund, and it was when you first met him at the Camp that you realized that you two would instantly become friends. But as you became older, it hadn’t occurred to either of you, yet, that your friendship has grown into a certain something called love.

A few minutes of peaceful silence passed in the dark room, until Edmund spoke up. “What made you feel happy?”

“What?” You furrowed your brows in confusion.

“You said that you used to come down here all the time because you felt upset… what changed that feeling?”

You opened your mouth to answer, but your mind was blank. What did change that feeling? When you first arrived here in Narnia, all you wanted was to go back home. You missed your friends, your family, the neighbours on your block, the kind people that would always smile at you when they walked past; you missed Earth. You didn’t want to be seen looking upset and worried by the others here, and so it was Aslan who made you your the secret room. And then it filled your mind, you knew why you went from upset to happy.

It was Edmund.

The messy dark chocolate haired boy had been the one to pull you out of your constant state of sadness. No one had made you feel as happy and important as he did.

“You. It was you.” You could see him flash his pearly whites through the dark and you did the same back.

It was at that moment that you and Edmund had recognized that your feelings for each other weren’t that of friendship, but that of love. After all this time you had known each other for, you both realized that you loved the other. You wanted to be together. Til’ the end of time. Edmund now finally understood the deep fire in his stomach whenever he saw you and Caspian together as envy and anger. You now finally understood the warm fuzzy feeling you would get whenever he touched you as love and desire.

You both began to lean in, merely inches apart, as you felt his breath of mint on your lips and nose, just until the tapping of shoes and whispers of voices could be heard.

Down the stairs came Peter, followed by Susan, Lucy, and Caspian.

See? I told you she would have brought him here!” Caspian’s thick accent sounded through as he smirked triumphantly.

“W-what are you doing here?” You quickly stood up, as did Edmund, with a look of shock on your face. How did Caspian know about this room?

“We caught you, (Y/N). But I must say, this is a clever place to hide.” Peter laughed.

“Okay, but, how did you know this room existed?” Edmund read your mind and stated your question out for you.

“Why, is this where you two love birds come down all the time without us knowing?” Susan scoffed playfully.

“What?! No!” You and Edmund responded at the same time.

“No one knew about this room except for me! I used to come down here all the time when I was sad…” you trailed off as you tried to think of a reason as to how Caspian found the stairwell leading down to the room.

“Yes, well, it would have probably served as a better hiding spot if you actually remembered to shut the door.” Caspian rolled his eyes.

You sputtered on your words trying to form a sentence, but Edmund interrupted you, a tone of annoyance and anger lacing through his voice. “Okay, so you found us, whatever. We need to get ready for our farewell.” He shoved past Peter and Susan and ran up the stairs, leaving you there with a confused frown on your face.

Lucy ran up to you and tugged at your sleeve. “What happened?”

“I - I don’t know…” you left the others unconvinced with your statement. What just happened? Were you and Edmund really about to kiss? Did you think of him as a friend? All this time? Or as more? Thoughts flooded your brain, but you couldn’t stop them from overflowing. You needed to let your feelings out. “Lucy, Susan, I think I need to talk to you two.”

Susan walked up to you and placed a hand on your shoulder, her eyebrows furrowed. “(Y/N), are you alright? What do need to talk about?” You ignored her questions and looked behind her at Peter and Caspian who had expressions of worry written on their faces.

Alone. I need to talk to you two alone.” Caspian accepted your request at once and walked out of the room. But Peter, however, needed a little more convincing.

“What’s the matter?” Peter lightly shoved Susan aside and took your hands in his.

“I don’t- I don’t think that maybe you should know just yet.”

“(Y/N), you know you can tell me anything.”

“Peter, please, I just don’t feel like—“

“What’s going on? Why can’t you just —“

“Peter, stop it! She’ll tell you later. Please, just go.” Susan gently pried his hands away from yours and beckoned him to leave. He looked at you forgivingly as he curtly nodded, and then proceeded to head up the stairs.

A few seconds had passed and you fell to the ground, your head in your hands.

“(Y/N), what’s wrong?!” Lucy wailed as she sat down next to you, her hand on your knee.

“E-Edmund.” as you said his name, you felt your voice begin to shake and eyes begin to pool up with tears.

“Wait, what about him?” Susan raised an eyebrow, concerned for not only you, but her little brother. “(Y/N)? (Y/N), answer me!” As her worry grew, so did the sound of her voice.

That’s when you started sobbing. Lucy shushed Susan and patted your knee soothingly.

“I think- I think I —”

“You think what?” Susan and Lucy asked you at the same time.

“I think I love him”

“why did we have to have kids?”
-

you’ve been tired before, back in high school and collage during exam times, when you couldn’t sleep because of stress, or just when you stayed up all night talking with your husband, but you’ve never been this tired before.

when they said having a baby would be hard, they weren’t wrong. but what made things even harder was the fact that you had two.

two month old twin girls were a handful, especially early in the morning when one would cry and the other would wake up and join in.

you and shawn couldn’t take turns since both girls needed to be tended to. the both of you were getting about 2 hours of sleep each night and it was really starting to affect you.

the two of you stood in your girls’ nursery, each holding one girl trying to soothe them back to sleep. you knew neither of them needed to be fed since you fed them about 3 hours ago.

shawn had managed to get one of the babies to fall back asleep, while you were still struggling. it was always easier for him since he sang them back to sleep, but unfortunately you weren’t talented when it came to singing.

sometimes it made you feel like a horrible mother. what kind of mom couldn’t put their own kid to sleep?

shawn noticed you struggling and took his daughter from your arms and softly sang to her until she fell asleep. you smiled gratefully as the two of you walked back to your room in silence.

the two of you laid in bed, not being able to fall back asleep. you faced away from shawn, not wanting him to see you on the verge of tears.

you couldn’t help it anymore. you never thought having a kid would be this hard. even though shawn was a massive help, you couldn’t stop yourself from feeling tried emotionally and physically.

“y/n,” shawn whispered, lightly turning you around so you could face him.

he immediately noticed the tears that were now streaming down your face.

“honey, what’s wrong?” he said, immediately pulling you into his chest and rubbing your back soothingly.

you knew you had to tell him before things got any worse.

“what did we have to have kids shawn? nobody told us it was going to be this hard.”

you knew it was horrible to be at this point only two months into motherhood, but you couldn’t stop yourself from feeling like this no matter how hard you tried.

“i’m such a horrible mom, i can’t even put my own daughter to sleep!”

“y/n you’re an amazing mother, don’t ever say that. the girls love you so much. i know you’re tired right now, we both are. but i promise, it’s going to get better.”

he continued to trace patterns on your back as you calmed down. about an hour later, you heard the cries of one little girl, followed by the next over the baby monitor next to your bed.

you were starting to get out of the bed, knowing it was time for them to be fed, but you were stopped by shawn.

“stay here, i’ll bring them to you.”

he kissed your forehead before making his way down the hall to the nursery. you could tell he was just as tired as you by the way his feet dragged.

you knew even though it was hard now, you and shawn were going to be okay in the end.
