deleted pixiv account

Alright, gonna say this again

Please, please, please add a source to your reposted arts! It’s reaaaallly important to the artists, some of them already deleted their Pixiv accounts because their art is being reposted everywhere without permission or source

If you want to repost someone’s art, please ask them first and be sure to add a source.

“Yeah, but how should we ask if we can’t speak japanese?!”

Oh wow lookie here templates!

*gasp* What is this, a permission list!

And please don’t be a butt saying “I don’t care if other artists delete their accounts, I just want the notes.” Because like everyone here will really hate you if you do.

Also, websites such as We Heart It (short WHI), Zerochan, etc. are not sources.

Proper sources are, for example: Pixiv, DeviantArt (if it’s not stolen art), Drawr, etc.

And maybe the artist already has a tumblr, if they really have, please just reblog art from their blog.

“Whoa, whoa, hold on! This is waaaay too much work!”

Well then, JUST DON’T FREAKING REPOST ART IF IT’S TOO MUCH WORK YOU LAZY BUTT. Creating art takes usually around 5 hours, if not maybe even more. Asking for permission and reposting art takes around 5 minutes.

Edit: Here is a sourcing guide!!

Title: ブラコンキャラのショタ時代シリーズ / BroCon Character’s Childhood Era Series | pixiv | twitter
Artist: みくよし / Mikuyoshi
Pairing: none
Pages: 11

This is a translation. Please do not claim the art or the translation as your own and give proper credit if you’re using them. Feel free to point out any misspelling or other errors. Thank you.

Finally got the permission to do this! I always love these stories, the brothers are so adorable like this (even though there are no shota Kana-nii and Hika-nii yet) haha~ If you have pixiv account, do bookmark and rate her pics, or follow and favorite her stuffs from Twitter.

Friendly reminder

For those who post fanarts from Pixiv but think asking for permission is too much of a bother/not important/too hard, at least try to remember a few rules to show a minumum of respect to the artists you’re reposting from:

1. Read their profile before posting. Seriously, it only takes 10 seconds to copy the text from their profile and translate it. Sometimes they write their reposting rules on it (such as “only if you put a link to my page” or “reposting is okay but only to X site” etc.), but most importantly, you may also find out they wholly forbid reposting (sometimes they specifically address tumblr users!). In this case, I think it’s clear you should NOT repost their work.
2. Always check the source! Do not just copy-paste the links from saucenao. If a fanart you’re about to post has been deleted from the artist’s pixiv account, or made private (or worse, their whole account is deleted) then do not repost it. This shouldn’t even need an explanation honestly: obviously if the artist removed it from their personal space it means they do not want to share it anymore! So please respect their decision and don’t share it.
3. If you don’t have/can’t find the source… just DON’T post it! I’m sincerely shocked when I see people reposting art and then writing “source not found” as if writing that somehow makes it more acceptable than just posting without sourcing… this is exactly the same thing and it’s still wrong! If you can’t find the source and aren’t able to credit the artist properly, please do not share it.

I’m saying this because during the Halloween week I’ve seen an awful lot of fanarts reposted without the permission caption, so I checked and most of the time they came from artists who forbid reposting and sometimes the source was even deleted! And a few times, like I mentioned in point 3, there was no source at all! I understand it was Halloween and all but this doesn’t mean having pretty themed pictures on your blog is more important than respecting the artists who spent hours creating them!

Please don’t do that for Christmas as well.

can the rwby fandom stop fucking reposting art from japanese artists without asking them first, like jfc, even if you have credit it’s not ok. most american artists don’t even like their art reposted onto tumblr without credit - if they wanted it on here, they’d post it themselves, but especially with Japanese artists, reposting art or using it as an icon/header/etc without asking for permission first is extremely hated, and japanese artists will literally delete their pixiv accounts and stop posting art bc so many american fans repost it like can y’all fucking stop reposting without asking permission?????????????

TL;DR ASK PERMISSION BEFORE REPOSTING ART ALWAYS BUT ESPECIALLY JAPANESE ART FNDM

THIS IS A PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

EDIT: I found out that めか is a girl.

Okay, so I’ve been seeing this piece of artwork pop up a bit on here.

I’m getting fed up because it seems that people aren’t checking the artist’s profile.

YOU SEE THAT? IT SPECIFICALLY SAYS NOT TO REPOST HER ARTWORK.

“転載はお断りしています。許可を求められてもお応えできません。”  means “I do not allow reprints. Even if you ask me for permission, I will not answer.” (I checked with raspomme to make sure that I was correct.)

IF YOU SEE ANY ARTWORK BY THIS ARTIST, PLEASE DO NOT LIKE OR REBLOG.

PLEASE DO NOT POST IT.

IF YOU HAVE DONE ANY OF THAT, PLEASE DELETE IT.

FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS HOLY, EDUCATE YOURSELVES FOLKS!

If this keeps up, めか may just decide to delete her Pixiv account altogether. I don’t want that, and I’m sure you don’t either. So please, do your part and make sure that this situation doesn’t get worse.

Thank you.

So I just found out another KnB/KagaKuro artist deleted her works and that made me very upset. I checked her feed to see if she said something about deleting her works for a reason but hasn’t said anything about it. But I think the main reason is because people are reposting her works when she said not to. Even her self introduction specifically says “reprint is prohibited.” and she doesn’t want people to translate her works either. She said that nicely and respectfully and yet, people refuse to listen to her and decided to be a jerk and continue stealing and translating her works without her permission.

This seriously upsets me because man, I really love and admire her art so much and they always put a smile on my face. She’s one of my favorite KnB artists too. And now they’re all gone except the one she recently uploaded.

“But I gave her credit!” is not an excuse. With or without credit, she still doesn’t want her works to be uploaded on here or any site. Simple as that.

lemuno is the artist I’m talking about in case you were wondering. To that post asking why she deleted her pixiv account… No, she did not delete her pixiv account. She only deleted her works. Maybe you should consider editing your post and add the credit. That or just delete the whole post because you got your answer.

i really get sad and tired when ppl delete their accounts on pixiv bc ppl wont stop posting their art on tumblr without permission. Even those posts that say “permission was granted” are usually a lie and it makes me even more angry why ppl are so damn disrespectful???? Why ppl with a lot of followers reblog reposted art??? They dont help either

A lot of ppl on here are obsessed with notes and exposure, but not everyone wants that esp when they dont want their art here in the first place since is impossible to control who reblogs things wtf i am sooo annoyed!!!!!! this is why i dont follow fandom blogs at all besides being fucking annoying they dont respect the ppl that take their time to draw stuff that is mostly for their own amusement
