debut history

April 16

When Alex, Chase, Gert, Karolina, Molly, and Nico witness their parents (“The Pride”) sacrifice a girl in an occult ceremony, the group runs off. The children learn of their heritage and abilities, and steal resources from their parents, including futuristic gauntlets, a dinosaur, and a mystical Staff. They become the Runaways in Runaways #1 (April 16, 2003). Using these resources, they manage to remove their parents from their criminal hold of Los Angeles, but they lose Alex in the final battle, due to Alex’s true loyalty to his parents. With the Pride defeated, the Runaways now vow to prevent other villains from filling in the void left by their parents. They eventually meet cyborg Victor Mancha and shape-shifting alien Skrull Xavin, and invite them to join the team. Right before the Runaways defeat a new incarnation of the Pride and Alex’s resurrected father, Gertrude is fatally wounded. Before she passes, she transfers her power to control Old Lace to Chase.

Sorry for the rotated pictures, but yeah.  Allow me to explain.

So at my high school we have this tradition that seniors get to wear crowns to the school rallies.  The seniors take this very seriously and try to make a new crown for every rally they attend, personalizing them to fit the theme of the rally or something personal to them.  If they have artistic skills, people make their own, but if you don’t have art skills or just don’t have the time, you can pay a student in the Art Honors Society to make you a crown (for five dollars if you don’t ask at the last minute).  Next week is the Senior Farewell Rally (even though the seniors don’t graduate for another two weeks), so the Juniors (that’s me!) get to make their first crowns and move to the Senior section of the gym.  Since I don’t have any art skills, I decided to have my first crown commissioned and I’M SO HAPPY I DID.

I feel like Yuri Plisetsky because next week is my Senior debut and it’s going to be as amazing as his.

Credits for the art on the crown go to Caroline Yau, please do not remove them if you repost/republish.

Today is the day to thank those angels, who have made 8 years of debut and changed the history of k-pop. Thank you for everything these girls did and did for me and all blackjacks. Even as soloists I will never leave you, I will always be with you for everything, just as you Dara, CL, Minzy and Bom are and are with me for all this time. I love you, these girls.  #8YearsWith2NE1FIRE ~~ @bommiie; [♡]

Abe Sapien began his life as Langdon Everett Caul, a Victorian scientist and businessman who became involved with the Oannes Society, an occult organization who believed in life and all knowledge having come from the sea. After retrieving a strange jellyfish-like deity from an underwater ruin, Caul and the other members performed an arcane ritual that inadvertently ended with the creature’s release and Caul being turned into an ichthyo sapien. Believing him to be Oannes reborn, the society sealed the developing icthyo sapien’s body in a tube of water in the hidden laboratory beneath a Washington, D.C.. hospital until such time as he was fully formed. Forced to abandon the site by the outbreak of the American Civil War, the Society never found occasion to return for Caul, and there he stayed until he was found by workmen in November 1978. With no memory of his life before, the icthyo sapien received a new name. Abe Sapien was taken to the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense (BPRD) for a gruelling round of research by curious BPRD scientists, and was saved from vivisection by an empathetic Hellboy. Thereafter, Abe entered the ranks of the BPRD as a valued field agent. He first appeared in Hellboy: Seeds of Destruction (March 22, 1994).

1967. Are You Experienced

is the debut album by band the Jimi Hendrix Experience. Released in May 12, the LP was an immediate critical and commercial success, and it is widely regarded as one of the greatest debuts in the history of rock music. The album features Jimi Hendrix’s innovative approach to songwriting and electric guitar playing which soon established a new direction in psychedelic and hard rock music.

By mid-1966, Hendrix was struggling to earn a living playing the R&B circuit as a backing guitarist. After being referred to Chas Chandler, who was leaving the Animals and interested in managing and producing artists, Hendrix was signed to a management and production contract with Chandler and ex-Animals manager Michael Jeffery. Chandler brought Hendrix to London and began recruiting members for a band designed to showcase the guitarist’s talents, the Jimi Hendrix Experience. In late October, after having been rejected by Decca Records, the Experience signed with Track, a new label formed by the Who’s managers Kit Lambert and Chris Stamp.

for those who have recently arrived from Mars and never heard of Jimi Hendrix, or who have recently started studying rock history and never heard of ARE YOU EXPERIENCED?
this “the greatest, most influential debut album ever released,” and it’s hard to counter his praise. Hendrix is one of the few 1960s rock gods who is worshipped as much by the children of those who grew up with his music as by their parents. This was the world’s introduction to his psychedelic guitar, trippy lyrics and throbbing basslines, and his voice was clear from the start. It’s rare to find more than one or two signature songs on a debut – even Bob Dylan, the Beatles and the Rolling Stones needed a running start to become the artists we think of today – but Hendrix has five: “Purple Haze,” “Foxey Lady,” “Fire,” “Hey Joe” and “The Wind Cries Mary.” Thirty-five years after its initial release, ARE YOU EXPERIENCED? is prized both for its historical significance and its rocking sound.

If you want to get into Hendrix, this is the place to start,

I can show you the world.

Human, Seraphim, blended.

Tell me, Shepherd, now when did

You last let your heart decide?

I can open your artes.

Take you power by power.

Up a level each hour.

Strong, brave, perfect counterparts.

A whole new world!

A new fantastic thing to be.

Always because as one

We’ll never run

Or lose sight of our shared dream!

A whole new world!

A stunning place I never knew!

But when I’m fused with love

By Shepherd’s Glove

See now I’m in a whole new world with you.

(Now I’m in a whole new world with you)

Unbelievable fights.

Indescribable healing.

Mighty, timeless, appealing.

There’s no need to say good-bye.

A whole new world

(Let me do the aiming)

A thousand arrows to let fly.

(Together we’ll hit the mark)

I’ve beat tremendous strife

I’ve come to life

I can’t go back to how I used to try!

(A whole new world)

Every moment exclaiming.

(With new history to debut)

New adventure we embark.

I’ll race you anywhere!

Always a pair.

Let me share this whole new world with you!

A whole new world

(A whole new world)

That’s where we’ll be

(That’s where we’ll be)

A thrilling race

(A splendid place)

For you and me

June 10

New York City, where Casey Jones is from, was overrun by criminals. Enticed by examples from TV, Casey decided to do something about the crime in the streets. After equipping himself with a hockey mask and various sports clubs, he began his vigilante campaign. When Jones was young, his father, Arnold Casey Jones Sr., owned an auto shop. A group of Purple Dragon members burned the shop down, killed his father and took his mother and sister hostage. The badly beaten Casey refused to lie down and take Hun’s blows. He attacked Hun with a knife, stabbing him in the neck. Enraged, Hun had beaten him to within an inch of his life. It seemed that the beating he took from Hun as a teenager resulted in several mental and emotional disorders, explaining his often violent and erratic behavior. Casey first appeared in Raphael #1 (June 10, 1985). Raphael runs into Casey beating some muggers and proceeds to stop him before the crooks are murdered. Jones and Raphael fight several times before making peace with each other. Later, he comes to the aid of the Turtles, Splinter and April O'Neil when they are attacked by the resurrected Shredder at April’s home. The seven escape, and retreat to a farmhouse in Northampton, Massachusetts that once belonged to Casey’s grandmother. Casey “officially” becomes a part of the Turtles’ family around this point, and the farmhouse acts as a second home to the group for some time.

The original Trickster is the practical joker and con man whose favorite occupation is damaging enemies like the Flash with items such as explosive teddy bears. James Jesse was a circus acrobat who decided to become a criminal just like his “reverse namesake” Jesse James. He created shoes that allowed him to walk on air to first help him in the trapeze shows his family was in, as every member of his family was a trapeze expert and his father wanted him to be one also, and other dangerous gag gadgets for his crimes. He clashed with the Flash (Barry Allen) many times. In his first appearance in Flash #113 (April 21, 1960), his Harlequin costume causes the Flash to guess he is in a circus, and he captures the Trickster after pogo-sticking to the trapeze.

Finally hunted down and completed my HISTORY Collection~

I only went after the Korean albums, not the Japan versions. Still sad about the news of their disbandment but glad I managed to find all the albums as well as the photocards of my bias either through purchase or trades.
