C-My white mother is offended that I identify more as black than I do white… I watched Dear White People the other day and tried explaining to her all of the good points that the movie shows. She clearly said, “But you’re mixed. We’re all Americans. We should accept eachother no matter what color, instead of choosing sides.” No matter how much it would be nice for everyone to be treated equally, she does not understand that I will be treated differently based on my skin color. I am different.
