Huge news, Star Trek fans: The first new Trek series in a decade has found its star.  Sonequa Martin-Green, well known to genre fans from her role on AMC’s mega-hit The Walking Dead, has been cast as the lead of Star Trek: Discovery, sources tell EW.  The casting ends meticulous search to find the ideal actress to anchor the eagerly anticipated new CBS All Access drama. Martin-Green will play a lieutenant commander on the Discovery.

Whoa.

Kirk and Spock: They’re close, they understand each other in ways that others don’t, and you really can’t picture one without the other. But when stuff happens, they usually react in different ways. They’re not opposites exactly, they’re contrasts, and the more you see them together the more they seem to compliment or round one other out. 

And that is basically your autonomic nervous system. 

BECAUSE KIRK AND SPOCK ARE AS FLUID AND CO-FUNCTIONING AND NATURAL AS YOUR AUTONOMIC NERVOUS SYSTEM, ACCORDING TO INTELLECTUALS. 

I MEAN THEY MIGHT AS WELL BE SYMBIOTIC RIGHT?! 

(Hahaha I’m dying right now was not expecting that as I was prepping for a Reflex Lab Presentation on the Autonomic Nervous System and I love that they as a couple are so deeply woven into the fabric of our culture DAMMIT YOU TWO I’M TRYING TO WORK–)
