Downtown Community Planning Council Election

The Downtown Community Planning Council annual elections are rapidly approaching. Meet the candidates and hear their campaign speeches at the Candidates’ Forum at 6 pm in the Shiley Suite of the Central Library (9th floor, 330 Park Blvd.) on the evening of March 17. The polls will also be open at that time, on March 17th from 6-8 pm and March 18th from 9:30 am-5 pm. Yes, it’s St. Patrick’s Day, but there will still be plenty of time following the event to head to East Village or the Gaslamp for some green beer.

The 13 seats that are up for election are:

Day 1:

Our journey’s first stop at Lake of Menteith provided serene views, a decadent lunch, and a service of welcome at the neighboring Port of Menteith Church.

The drive across the country brought us by Loch Lomond (not pictured) and majestic Glen Coe the site of a tragic massacre among the clans in 1692.

Greeted in Oban by youth pipe bands. Clear and striking sunset in front of hotel to put us to bed.
