I've always been a little confused with よりI get the basics that it's As opposed to A, B is adjective but what if you wanted to say for example I am younger instead of I am younger than you or as opposed to you I am young. Can I shorten it and still use より. I've been wondering this for awhile and I figured I'd ask you instead of looking it up on my own.

There are a couple ways to make a comparison like that, but personally I think the easiest is by using 方. It means “way” and works just like a regular noun:

ロシアの方が寒いです。(Roshia no hou ga samui desu.)

Russia is colder. (Lit. The way of Russia is cold)

話しない方が難しいね。(Hanashinai hou ga muzukashii ne.)

It’s harder to not speak.

Except when you use a non negative verb with it, it must be in past tense.

食べた方がいいだよね。(Tabeta hou ga ii dayo ne.)

It’s better to eat.

Assassination Classroom
Jiriki Hongan Revolution

I recently became a fan of Assassination Classroom and let me tell you, this is the most addictive song. I simply couldn’t resist translating it, which was also helped by the fact that I couldn’t find a smooth English translation of this anywhere.

I aimed to make it at least partway singable, though YMMV on how well that worked. I didn’t note down exactly who sings which parts because this is long enough as it is, but I can put up a version including the parts if you so wish. Translation notes under the cut.
