Some of you may or may not know, I am one-quarter Irish through my late paternal grandmother Rosemary Reagan so I get SUPER-DUPER excited every year St. Patty’s Day rolls around!

And since I’m a wedding stylist blogger, this allows me to express a particularly beautiful part of the Irish culture as opposed to the obvious leprechauns, green rivers, and free-flowing beer.

So to all of you I wish a very merry St. Patrick’s Day!!!

When people think about wedding stationery, they usually only consider the save-the-date cards and the invitations. Yet there are so many more items to consider, especially if you would have all of your stationery promote the same look, brand, and feel.

To illustrate the various stationery items, I’ve employed Wedding Paper Divas‘ Chalkboard Floral design in Orange Sherbet. (They’re REALLY cute and budget-friendly!)

The Save the Date Card

This is the informal announcement that you and your fiance are getting married. It precedes the actual invitation.

The Invitation

This is the formal, official announcement that you are getting married and indicates that the person receiving the invite is indeed invited to the wedding.

The Response Card

This is also known as the “RSVP Card.” It allows the invitee to confirm or deny whether they will be attending your wedding as well as indicate, how many are attending with them, and what meal they prefer if you extend this grace to them. Accompanies the invitation.

The Enclosure Card

This item may list the directions to the venue(s) as pictured, the hospitality and accommodation information, and even the registry information.  Accompanies the invitation.

The Address Label

If your living arrangements are settled by the time you order your wedding stationery, you can include this with the wedding invitation (or send it out afterwards) to tell your invitees where to send their gifts, cards, etc. It also enables them to update your mailing address in their records.

The Program

This represents the agenda as well as the participants and any other special tidbits for the wedding ceremony guests.

The Table Number/Sign

This bit if signage assists your guests in finding their table at the wedding reception.

The Place Card

This assists the guest in finding their actual seat at the wedding reception.

The Menu Card

This is placed at the wedding reception guest’s seat as a part of the table setting to indicate what they will be eating and drinking for the event.

The Gift Tag (Sticker)

Like any gift tag, you can attach this to the gifts you give out to your spouse, attendants, parents, etc. They are a very lovely option to consider.

The Thank You Card

This is the most important post-wedding stationery item. Pretty self-explanatory, it thanks everyone for the gifts they’ve given you in celebration of your wedding.

Happy April Fool’s Day!!! I cannot believe that it’s April and the first day of the second quarter already! Can you say “cray-cray”?!

Well in keeping the the joyous month, I wanted to do a perfectly suited Mood Board for our first Mood Board Monday in a month.

I did a Loverly search using these key words “pink, yellow, green” and then “pink, green” and I came up with this fab theme board: April Wedding Joy!

How do you feel about this joyous jumble of colours??

I found this great article on wedding budgets on the HuffPost Weddings site! Check out the first 10 pointers now!

  1. Avoid Peak Season: Save $1,500

Get married in late Summer or Winter for up to 20% off your venue(s).

  1. Cut in Packs: Save $2,500

Shave one table of 8-10 people off your guest list.

  1. Embrace All-Inclusives: Save $3,125

Pretty self-explanatory. Packages deals are ALWAYS cheaper than purchasing (or renting or reserving) items and services and venues separately.

  1. Choose Local Flowers: Save $600

Seasonal, local flowers will always be cheaper than those that are out-of-season or imported from elsewhere.

  1. Have Fewer VIPs: Save $660

Large Bridal Party = Larger Floral Bill

Smaller Bridal Party = Smaller Floral Bill

  1. Sorry, No Shots: Save $1,250

Alcohol be expensive y’all! (Excuse my “real talk”!) Limit the booze and you’ll lighten your budget. 25% lighter to be exact.

  1. Focus on Deliciousness: Save $1,250

Limit your appetizers from 10 to, say, 4 that are really tasty. You’ll save about $10.00 per guest.

  1. Knock a Star Off the Five-Star Meal: Save $1,250

Serve knock-offs that taste 5-Star instead of 5-star selections themselves.

  1. Welcome Turntables: Save $7,300

DJs are MUCH cheaper than hiring live entertainment of any kind.

  1. Don’t Gild the Cake: Save $1,215

Choose a topping of sugar blooms instead of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon on your cake. You’ll have approximately $10.00 per slice of cake.

DA Weddings Tip: All of these tips are pure awesomeness! However, if you and your boo have decided which items/segments of your wedding are most important and least important, it will be much easier for you to figure out where you can afford to splurge a bit more as well as where you can cut back—and still be happy with your overall wedding!

For the remaining 4 budget tips, read the HuffPost Weddings article here!

Happy (Belated) Cinco de Mayo all! In honour of this festive day, I’ve created an equally festive wedding theme for you to enjoy! How can anyone NOT be enraptured by a lovely Latino celebration such as a Cinco de Mayo wedding??

Enjoy!

Check out this guest post by destination photographer, Neli Prahova of Neli Prahova Photography! Learn about this fabulous wedding venue in the South of France!

Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild in St. Jean Cap Ferrat between Nice and Monaco is one of the ultimate luxury wedding venues in the French Rivieraand is a venue full of possibilities for beautiful wedding photography for any wedding photographer in South of France.

Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild, overlooking the bay of Villefranche, is set magically between sea and sky. It has nine heavenly gardens adorned with patios, fountains, ponds, flowered, and shaded paths.

At the beginning of the 19th century St. Jean Cap Ferrat was one of the most famous summer resorts in Europe.Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is a French seaside palazzo which was constructed between 1905 and 1912 by Baroness Béatrice de Rothschild (1864-1934). It was designed by the Belgian architect Aaron Messiah. Béatrice de Rothschild who was a member of the prominent Rothschild banking family and the wife of the wealthy Russian banker Baron de Ephrussi, built her rose-coloured villa on a promontory on the isthmus of Cap Ferrat overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.

Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild is not only one of the most beautiful palaces in Europe but also has one of the most beautiful gardens on the French Riviera making it a perfect place for a destination wedding in South of France. There are nine different gardens in the form of a ship, each one taking inspiration from flora found in different countries around the world. 30 gardeners have been working for the vivid dream of Baroness Béatrice. Béatrice. Being an ardent lover of arts, the Baroness collected rare porcelain, Old Master paintings, sculptures and antique furniture with which she filled the gardens and the mansion. When she died in 1934, she left her entire collection of art to the French Academy of Fine Arts, division of the Institut de France.

The nearby town was a resort of the aristocracy, the wealthy and celebrities. Some famous people, such as Charlie Chaplin and Winston Churchill, spent holidays here. Villa Rothschild is now a museum and is open to public but is available for hire for private events and weddings. It is therefore very popular for destination weddings on the French Riviera. With the nine themed gardens this wedding venue presents the perfect location for creative wedding photography in St Jean Cap Ferrat.

The wedding of Suzzie and Paddy had a truly magical touch with the beautifully lit fountain show set to classical music which Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild offers. It’s indeed an indispensable part of a wedding celebration in this French Riviera venue in order to fully appreciate the charm of this superb wedding venue.

The Villa Ephrussi de Rothschild can be hired for weddings and private events all year round. The venue and its gardens provide a lot of outdoors and indoors space and can hold wedding ceremonies and receptions of up to 300 guests. However as the venue is open to the public during the day only evening wedding celebrations are possible. However the wedding celebration can last till as late as 3pm.

Villa Rothschild is certainly a magical place for a destination wedding and it’s probably one of my favourite wedding venues on the French Riviera due to the abundance of creative wedding photography opportunities it holds.
