Marvel promo poster for Daredevil #227 (February 1986) which was the starting point for the acclaimed Born Again story line. As much as I loved Frank Miller’s amazing initial run on Daredevil, his collaboration with David Mazzucchelli on Born Again is to me the most definitive and enduring story ever told about the Man Without Fear. It has truly stood the test of time and is as powerful and relevant today as it was nearly 30 years ago.

I think it’s the best drawn comic I’ve ever read, but the overall thing left me cold. I’m not sure why that is, as looking back at pages like this I remember how incredible it could be.
