1. How tall are you? 5 feet 2 inches more or less

2. What color and style is your hair? Light brown with streaks of gold/blond. Not sure what that’s about.  Some days looks very cool, other days looks… light brown. Long to very long (currently very long)–and my hair is super-straight and very soft/fine although lots of it. Usually tied in a high or low pony-tail.  I once freaked out my super-serious classmates (all guys) by wearing it in high pigtails tied with happy-face elastics…

3. What color are your eyes? Dark blue (always).

4. Do you wear glasses? Yes, since grade 10. Had to start wearing them all the time by the end of university.

5. Do you wear braces? I did.  My vampire teeth had to be filed down and dragged forcibly into place (all my canines came in sharp and over my baby teeth).  I was saved from teeth pulling by the fact that I have no wisdom teeth.

6. What is your fashion sense? I would love to spend my life in soft pajamas. Since this isn’t an option, so far, I strive for comfort within slightly more conventional bounds.  I am allergic to wool and tight clothing.

7. Do you have any siblings? One brother.

8. What kind of student were/are you? I was a good student in that “always strung out trying to keep up the high marks” kind of way.  University knocked some of that out of me.  I hated class projects with an undying-until-this-day loathing.  I hated “creative” homework other than writing.  I was terrible at studying.  Typical over-achiever who felt like a failure later.  Infrequent bouts of rebellion.

9. What is your favorite subject? English maybe but it drove me nuts to read things I didn’t like and then have to over-analyse them.  No, I guess Spanish was actually my favourite course.  That was a lot of fun.  I really like languages.

10. Favorite TV shows? I don’t watch TV–too many other things to do like computer/video games and writing.  But I’ve never been a TV person.

11. Favorite books? Too many to list.  Several by Terry Pratchett, but I read a lot of genres so things like Agatha Christie and Dick Francis when I’m in a “mystery” kind of mood, or Julian May when I’m in a sci-fi/fantasy mood…  I was raised on Tolkien and Jane Austen.  So  📚📚📚

12. Favorite pastime? Writing, these days, but computer/video games a close second (otome more recently, but I love civilization builders, some strategy stuff–not a big fan of RTS though–and I’ve played Zelda/Link and some Fire Emblem, but I’m more of a PC person than a console person).  Used to be reading, but I do a lot less of that now.

13. Any regrets? Yes.

14. What is your dream job? Editing books?  Library?  My dream is to be a popular writer.  I think I’m still trying to figure out my dream job.

15. Do you want to get married? I am married.

16. Do you want kids? How many? I’m ambivalent about having kids.

17. How many countries have you visited? Six or seven (counting Great Britain as one country).

18. What’s the scariest dream you’ve ever had? I have scary dreams.  The scariest are the ones about real life but very slightly distorted so that (a) it takes a while to realize I’m dreaming, and (b) when I wake up I’m exhausted.

19. Do you have any enemies? I don’t think so.  I alienated my grade 11 English teacher by refusing to listen to him read aloud to the class any longer.  I’ve upset and been upset by people over the years.  As far as I know, only “life” is out to get me (doing a damn fine job so far, too).

20. Do you have a datemate? …No.  In between crises, my husband and I play computer games and he proofreads my stories for me and brings me hot chocolate or tea.
