Albrecht Altdorfer (1480-1538) was a German painter, engraver, and architect from the Renaissance. He was a leading member of the Danube school which took biblical subjects and put them in paintings with heightened color. This is his piece is The Battle of Issus/Alexander from 1529, woodcut.
