This was a poster used in the 1968 riots in France. This was the most popular slogan and translates to ‘Be young and shut up’. The youth used art in order to rebel against the government. The shadowy figure is Charles de Gaulle who is refusing to give liberty to the boy in white most likely a youth I haven’t researched it thoroughly yet but does this look familiar to you?

edit**In 2005 in Copenhagan there was an uprising again from the European youth for similar values.  This was named ‘The Pink Rebllion’
