“Oh no,” Danneel sighed, dropping the magazine in her lap. This was not going go over well with Y/n, who undoubtedly saw it. Poor girl!
“Have you seen this?” She asked Jensen as he entered the room. His eyebrows furrowed together.
“What is it?”
“The Padalecki’s People article.”
“Not really, Jared showed me the pictures on his phone, but I haven’t read it yet. Why?”
“See for yourself,” Danneel extended the magazine towards her husband, waiting while his eyes quickly zoomed over the article.
“Okay…” his texas accent drawled. “You seem annoyed, what’s wrong? It’s a nice little piece.”
“Seriously?” Danneel raised an eyebrow, then rolled her eyes when Jensen just shrugged his shoulders. “Maybe read it again, more carefully. And say, I don’t know, from the perspective of his seventeen year old daughter.”
“Crap,” Jensen muttered, reading the article again. “Man, this is going to be a mess.”
“That is probably an understatement. Jensen, this is going to crush her.”
Jensen flopped down on the couch next to her, “What are the chances you think she doesn’t see it?” Jensen nodded at the look his wife gave him, she would definitely see it. “He didn’t mean for it to come out that way. The public doesn’t know about her, he was probably just trying to protect that.”
“That probably isn’t going to help. Why is that even a thing? It’s been months, this could have been the perfect opportunity to revel her to the public and the fans. There really isn’t a need to keep her a secret anymore.”
“I don’t know babe.”
“Well, it’s a good thing we’re going over for dinner. I’m sure Gen doesn’t know yet, or I would have gotten a phone call. And it’s probably a good idea to give Jared a heads up before he talks to Y/n next.”
Y/n gulped as she followed Jared toward the front of the house. As they got closer, she could hear the sound of voices talking. She stepped into the foyer. A couple around Jared and Gen’s age had arrived, they were each holding a baby carrier and a little blonde girl was chatting with Tom and Shep.
Y/n stood back nervously as Gen cooed to the other woman about one of the babies and Jared happily hugged the man. He also hugged the woman and smiled at the babies. Y/n watched them all interact, smiling faintly.
They all finished their hellos and suddenly the attention shifted to Y/n. She fidgeted nervously, and tried her hardest to plaster a big smile on her face.
“Hi,” she greeted timidly.
“JJ, this is our big sister Y/n,” Tom said excitedly, dragging his friend over to meet her.
“Hi, JJ,” Y/n greeted, crouching down to the kid’s level. “It’s nice to meet you.”
JJ gave her a shy wave, “Hi.”
“Are you gonna come play with us?” Shep asked.
“She will in a little,” Gen said, shooing them off to play.
Jared stepped toward Y/n and started introductions. “Y/n, this is Jensen and Danneel. You meet JJ and the babies are Arrow and Zepplin. Guys, this is my daughter, Y/n.”
Dannel placed the carrier on the floor and stepped toward the teenager, “We’re so happy you’re finally here. It’s wonderful to meet you!” She gave Y/n a huge smile and reached forward and hugged her.
Honestly my favorite part of being a fan is watching wonderful things happen to the people I adore. I’ve been a Jonas Brothers fan since I was 13 and today Joe got engaged to Sophie Turner and I’m honestly so thrilled. It’s such a privilege to watch these guys who I adored as a kid grow and mature and have wonderful things happen.
I feel like this is what sets fans apart from each other; the ability to be happy when your celebrity crush is happy, even if it’s not with you. Like there’s so many people out there that say they are someone’s fan, but go out of their way to try and tear down their significant other. Like the people who hate on J2’s wives or the people who think Sophie Hunter was hired by Harvey Weinstein to pretend to be BenC’s wife. Like honestly when I was 14 I was in love with Joe Jonas. When he dated Taylor Swift I refused to listen to her music because I was so mad that she took my guy from me. But now that I’ve matured, I honestly could not be happier that my dude is getting married. Congrats Sophie and Joe!!!
If only when Y/n signed on to play Layla she knew she would end up being the on-screen love interest of a 39-year-old man. At 20, her first onscreen romance and love scenes had been intimidating enough, but to have to do then with a man 19 years her senior was even worse. Not to mention a married man. Of course, Jensen was super kind about it and a total gentleman, but still it wasn’t what she pictured when she signed on to Supernatural.
Y/n was sitting in the greenroom at the con, waiting for her panel with J2. She was scrolling through twitter looking at all the posts from the weekend so far when one hashtag caught her eye, #y/nthehomewreaker.
Y/n gulped, what the hell was this? She clicked on the hashtag to see a bunch of posts posting about it. She scrolled through the tweets reading them as she went:
Look at the pictures of J and Y/n in Dallas today, seems a lot closer than friends. #y/nthehomewreaker
Oh yeah, they’re totally sleeping together #y/nthehomewreaker.
Poor Danneel, those poor kids. I can’t believe Y/n would destroy a family like this #y/nthehomewreaker
To say the fan feedback had always been kind would be a stretch. She’d received a lot of hate since the start of Layla and Dean’s relationship, but this was the first time they were actually accusing her of ruining Jensen’s marriage.
Someone yelled ten minutes until the panel and Y/n started freaking out. She couldn’t believe this. How could they even think that? She would never. They called five minutes and she was panicking.
What was she supposed to do? Would Danneel see it? More importantly would she believe it? Y/n hadn’t been on the show all that long, but since she joined she been becoming friends with Danneel and Gen. She didn’t want Danneel to believe that she would actually do this to her.
Y/n bit her lip. She pulled her phone back out and decided to text Danneel. Y/n typed a message and hit send, Hey, I don’t know if you’ve been on twitter, but some fans are saying some stuff about Jensen and me. I’m about to go on stage, but I just wanted to tell you before I do that none of it is true. Y’all are great friends and nothing more. I would never do that, especially not to you and the kids. I can call you after my panel if you want. I just wanted to tell you myself it’s completely untrue.
