A/N: Again, let me know what you think!
You were walking towards one of your classes when somebody bumped into you, knocking your books out of hands. You turned around confronting the person, but they just kept on walking. “Really? What are you, twelve?” You let it go and sighed as you tried to collect your books of the floor.
“This would be a real chick flick moment if we hadn’t already met.” You recognized the voice, Dean. You didn’t look up as you reached for the book he’d picked up. “If this were a chick flick moment then aren’t you supposed to ask me my name and I stutter out my name while blushing like crazy only to result in staring at you as you walk away.” You said looking up at him. He had this playful grin on his face. “Sure, a bit creepy but you can do that.” He gave you your last book as the both of you stood up. “Yeah right.” You huffed as you were checking your stuff.
“Or you could debate with your inner monologue if you’re going to the football game tonight?” Dean said. You couldn’t help but smile. “I think I’ll go and do that.” He nodded, walking around you. “Okay, so maybe see you tonight?” You laughed at that. “I don’t know yet, I still have to monologue it.” You answered teasingly. He laughed as he walked away, to his classes.
Seriously, who are you kidding? It’s a no breaker, you were going to the game tonight but you know what… you actually did watch him walk away, admiring his posture and walk, until he was out of sight.
And you have to admit it, you love it.
So it turns out the girls couldn’t go to the game so you went alone. The game was nearly finished.
You sat somewhere at the top, realizing you had the best view from there instead of at the bottom. Ow and you’d learned Dean’s number, number 8. It made it a bit easier to track him along the many players.
Dean’s team won this match as well, you’d learned that they were the best team out of the area. Sure you thought they were good but you didn’t know they were that good.
It all went well, you hadn’t seen Dean though at the end of the game and decided to make your way back to the apartment when you saw someone. Thomas.
You don’t know why but you froze and felt your eyes beginning to water. You couldn’t do this, you couldn’t do this now.
You wanted to walk away when Thomas made his way in front of you. “Where do you think your going? You still haven’t helped me with that problem.” You didn’t say anything and tried to ignore him, walking the other way but he grabbed your wrist. You tried to rip your wrist out of his grip. “Don’t touch me!” You don’t really understand why you were reacting the way you were but it nearly seemed like a reflex. You just couldn’t stand him and felt disgusted by his touch.
You felt Thomas letting go of your wrist and when you looked up you saw Dean still in his football gear, having a hold of his wrist and shirt, nearly lifting Thomas off the ground.
“Don’t touch her.” Dean nearly growled in his face. “What? A jock protecting a loser?” Dafack?! I’m not a loser!
It then happened so fast, Dean let go of Thomas’s wrist and punched him in the face. “Fucking hell!” Thomas yelled. “Remember, you’re just lucky I didn’t kill you the last time.” You could see Dean getting angrier and angrier, this wasn’t going to end well. You grabbed the end of Dean’s shirt, not wanting to get any closer to Thomas. “Dean.” Dean turned to look at you and his look softened a little. He looked back at Thomas and pushed him away, making him fall to the ground. Dean walked to you, putting his arm around your shoulders and guided you away.
Dean led you into the hallway towards the changing rooms, still holding you close by your shoulders. He stopped the both of you before you got to close to the changing rooms.
“You okay?” You could hear the concern in his voice. “Yeah.” You answered softly, Dean stayed quiet for a while. “No you’re not, lets go home.” He wanted to guide you away from the changing room, towards your apartment.
“Uhm no.” You stopped, Dean looked questioning at your reaction and you sighed. “I don’t want to go home. I don’t want to just sit there and sulk but you go, go change, you’ve got some party to go to, right?” You said, trying to smile. He stared at you for a minute before shaking his head. “I’m not going.”
You then thought of something. “Would you like to go and do something fun with me then?” You asked hopefully. You noticed Dean’s eyes softening again and answered quietly. “Sure, let me get changed. I’ll be back in a minute.” You nodded. “I’ll wait here.” He nodded and started to walk away when you thought of something. “Dean.”
He turned around and you jogged towards him. You couldn’t help it, you hugged him. Your arms wrapping around him and your face pressed sideways against his chest, which was a bit uncomfortable because of the armor but you didn’t care. He hugged you back and you felt him lean his head on yours, resting his lips on your head. You could hear him whisper. “I know.” And you pulled back out of his embrace, letting him go and get changed.
Again you were looking at his retrieving back. These were one of those moments you’d whished for upon those meteorites.
You’d waited in the hallway until Dean came out of the changing room, his hair still wet. You couldn’t but smile as he came closer. When he came closer you leaned forward on the tip of your toes and ruffled his hair. He laughed but didn’t stop you, when you stopped he raised an eyebrow. “Better?” “Perfect.” You answered smiling.
The two of you started to walk. “So what are we going to do?” Dean asked. “I don’t know.” You answered honestly. Dean stopped walking, making you stop as well. “What do you mean I don’t know, this was your plan!” He yelled with a light undertone. “Well I improvised. Just didn’t want to be alone at home right now.” “But going somewhere alone. That’s okay?” You shrugged and looked at him offended, while he was smirking. “Shut up, in some weird way. Yes. That’s okay.” Dean didn’t go into it and just shook his head.
You could see him think for a minute. “C’mon.” You followed him, he was leading you to a parking lot, you didn’t go that often to this part of campus. “Where are we going?” Dean didn’t answer before he stopped in front of a beautiful black car. “I don’t know, we’ll just drive until we see something.” He said opening the drivers side. You just looked at the car. “Is this your car?” “Yeah, you like it?” “Yeah, it’s beautiful.” “Well get in nerd, we don’t have all day going nowhere.” He said teasingly as he closed his door. You walked to the passenger side and got in.
The two of you have been driving on the high way for some time now. You’d gone through Dean’s music collection. You didn’t recognize all the music but that was okay, you liked it though. And of course the fact it was a cassette player, that was just awesome.
“You do this often?” You asked Dean, looking at the sunset. “Sometimes, when I want to clear my head.” He answered, turning the volume down a bit. “Do you ever have a destination in mind?” “Nope but that’s not what it’s about.” You looked at him questioningly. “It’s about going wherever I want to go, complete freedom.” You chuckled at that. “Maybe I should get a car then.” And you continued looking out of the window. “Or I could give you a ride if you want?” He asked, glancing at you. “Sounds like a good plan.” You said softly, when you saw a sign.
“Uhm, I might know somewhere to go.” Dean looked at you and you pointed at another sign. “Would you mind going to the carnival?” Dean chuckled. “Really? That’s where you want to go?” You shrugged your shoulders. “It’s the last day, tomorrow they’ll pack up and leave again. So yeah, why not?”
You could see Dean give in. “Sure, why not? Let’s go to the carnival.”
