This summer I bought a beautiful new Bernia sewing machine. When school let out in May I was high on designing and had visions of creating anything and everything! Fast forward three months later, I have accomplished very little–an incomplete dress and a tank top pattern to be exact! Oh well. I did not anticipate having such a busy summer and with my little spare time between jobs I have been more interested in hanging by the pool than sewing in the house—can you really blame me when a lounge chair and an ice coffee are calling my name?
Recently, my friends and I rented a house in Delaware, and I’ve kind of caught the decorating bug in a big way (I need a whole other post to due justice to my love of Ikea!) A few weeks ago, I was surfing the web for some chair cushions and I was disappointed in my findings. However, I did stumble across this great tutorial!—http://sewmamasew.com/blog2/2008/07/summer-sewing-perfectly-portable-cushion/
This tutorial is the perfect excuse to breakout my sewing machine ! I decided am I going to make cushions for the kitchen table in my new house! I bought this beautiful fabric from Sew Mama Sew ($12.95 per yard) and foam at Michaels (2pk-15x17 inch @ 9.99 each) and I am going to see how they turn out!
