“Paul [McCartney] was around more as an uncle, but in retrospect the most kind, gentle and open and observant of everybody was George [Harrison]. The sad thing was that we were becoming closer when he passed away. We hung out together from time to time in my 20s.” - Julian Lennon, The Times, via The Advertiser, 12 November 2011 [x]

“George - George was always a sweetheart to me. I loved him dearly. I miss him dearly.” - Julian Lennon, Connect The World, CNN, 20 September 2013 [x]

“Julian happens to be very talented. He’s really good. He’s got a lot of good tunes. He’s only just started to try and do lyrics. Apart from physically looking like John a bit, with glasses and long hair, he really isn’t anything like John. He’s more like his mother. He’s a much gentler, softer person.” - George Harrison, Good Morning Australia, broadcast in April 1982 [x]

Unearthly by Cynthia Hand

“I’ve learned that a storm isn’t always just bad weather, and a fire can be the start of something. I’ve found out that there are a lot more shades of gray in this world than I ever knew about. I’ve learned that sometimes, when you´re afraid but you keep on moving forward, that’s the biggest kind of courage there is. And finally, I’ve learned that life isn’t really about failure and success. It’s about being present, in the moment when big things happen, when everything changes, including myself.”

In 2014, I injured my wrists and was unable to complete my third year of university because my hands were virtually useless; I couldn’t write, type, or even hold open a book. As con season rolled around in 2015, my wrists were still in pain, but I managed to create four cosplays and design one fashion show piece before the year was out! I even modelled another designer’s piece in the same fashion show, and partook in my first ever bodypaint project. Considering my wrists are still healing over a year later, I’d say I’m pretty proud of myself for pushing through the pain in the name of costuming.
