cuteness is your middle name

Can you write a Bechloe fic in which Chloe and Beca start like a competition about how much random things they know about each other and Chloe is surprised bc she would never guess Beca knew her so much even in the little things?

Ahhh yes yes yes. Here ya go!

I Know More Than You Think Beale

They were the last two on campus, go figure. All of the other girls had gone home for Christmas break already. Of course the day they both planned on going home the roads were covered in ice and there was no leaving in site. They were stuck. Stuck in the cold, with barely enough food and the same 10 movies they’d both already seen far too many times than comfortable to count.

Georgia didn’t see very many ice storms, but every couple years a bad one would hit and the whole state would lose it’s shit. Odds are they’d be home barely in time for Christmas- 2 days from then.

While Beca wasn’t particularly looking forward to going home for the holidays, Chloe was heartbroken. She hadn’t seen her brothers in months and she missed her dog more than the rest of her family combined. Beca on the other hand just had Shelia and Roger waiting for her, but they’d be just fine without them. She didn’t even go home for

Thanksgiving. They survived that- surely they could survive Christmas without her.

They were sitting on the couch, Indian style facing each other, playing what felt like their 7th game of Go Fish. Chloe had already won 5 out of the 7, merely because Beca was letting her. Beca threw her cards down, “alright Beale. I can’t do this anymore. We need to try to get out of her. I’m losing my mind.”

“Becs we can’t. The roads are totes iced over. There’s no way I’m letting you drive in this. You can’t even drive in normal weather, what makes you think I’m letting you get behind the wheel in ice covered roads? Come on. Sit back down. I’ll make you some cocoa.”

“Chlo I’ve already had 4 cups of cocoa. That’s too much as it is!”

“Nope. No such thing as too much. Shut up and sit down.”

“Ok fine but give me more marshmallows this time!”

“Excuse me?” Adam cleared his throat, his eyes widened.

“He’s ours. He was born a few hours ago, he’s healthy and yeah, you’re a father.” Taylor told him. “I didn’t know about him until today so I’m still in shock to be honest.” She watched his face. He was shocked, surprised. He couldn’t describe what was happening inside his mind, he was trying to absorb everything she was saying.

“Oh my god, Tay…” He shook his head , sitting on the bed. “You really didn’t know?”

“No.” she sighed. “I didn’t put on much weight and there were no symptoms whatsoever.”

“I’m a father.” He took a deep breath, looking at her and she nodded, offering him a comforting smile.

“Want to hold him?” Taylor questioned, biting her lip. He nodded his head instantly, smiling a little.

“Oh man” Adam breathed out, as soon as the baby was placed carefully in his arms. “He’s really ours?”

“Yeah.” Taylor nodded.

“I’m going to leave you guys alone now, okay?” Andrea told them, smiling before exiting the room.

“Oh my god…” he smiled softly still not really believing this was actually happening to him. “This is-”

“Crazy, I know.” Taylor told him and he glanced at her.

“Are you okay? ”

“I’m coming to terms with it.” She shrugged. “It’s an actual baby that we made. There’s so much to think about.”

“Does he have a name? Do you have a name, baby?” Adam smiled down at the creature. Taylor felt her heart flutter at the sight, it was one she had imagined plenty of times the year before back when they were still together and now it was happening in front of her, under the strangest circumstances.

“He doesn’t. I was hoping you could help me out with that.” Taylor caressed the baby’s blonde hair softly. “The first few hours were hard on me. I couldn’t even hold him. I was so shocked.”

“Don’t worry. It’ll be fine. We’ll figure this out, Tay.”

“I never thought the first time I’d actually speak to you after all that happened would be right after having our baby.” Taylor pointed out, leaning back against the bed, her eyes still trained on the baby.

“We have a lot to talk about, don’t we?” Taylor nodded her head, answering his question with a shy smile. “He’s so adorable. I can’t believe we made someone so beautiful.” Adam looked up at her, smiling. She smiled back at him, having already thought that a million times. “This is the most shocking experience of my life.”

“I know. It’s terrifying.”

“I’m here though, I promise. And I’m here for this one too, as crazy as this might be.” Adam smiled widely, the idea that he was the baby’s father bringing a joy he wasn’t expecting. They watched the tiny creature in Adam’s arms yawn, kicking his legs. “The little lad is waking up.”

“He wants to meet you.” Taylor said, chuckling. “What do you think of Daniel?”

“Daniel, huh? I like the name. Daniel Swift-Wiles.”

“It sounds cute.” Taylor nodded.

“He could have your dad’s name as his middle name. Daniel Scott.”

“He sounds important.” She laughed.

“Well, he is. Right now, he’s the most important little guy on the planet and it’s only been a few hours.”

“They’re releasing you tomorrow. So you just spend the night and you’re free to go, sweetheart.” Andrea told her, informing her of what the doctor had said.

“And Danny?” Adam questioned. They had gone with the first name they had talked about after a lot of debate and different names thrown in.

“He’s coming too so I need you or I guess I can call Austin to help you get a crib, a pacifier, diapers, a few onesies -actually Tay, where do you want to stay?” Andrea turned to Taylor. Austin knew about the baby and so did Taylor’s father but since Austin was in LA, he had to get a flight there while Scott was in his house and couldn’t get a flight until the following day.

“I think I want to go to my place, I should get used to being there with him.”

“Alright then. So you guys need to set it up in the apartment, just the basics for now.” Andrea shrugged.

“And then we’ll find time to give our boy a decent room.” Taylor smiled, looking down at Daniel who had fallen asleep in her arms, after she had breastfed him for the first time, a quite terrifying experience might she add.

“Can I stay with you? For a few days. I don’t want to leave you guys.” Adam asked, his eyes on Taylor’s. He was a bit nervous to ask her, he didn’t want to seem intrusive, he wanted to give her the space she needed but he also didn’t want to leave Daniel. And although he wouldn’t admit it, he had missed being with Taylor. This was the longest he had spent with her in months and

“Sure. I don’t want to be alone anyway.” Taylor smiled. “Mom, you should go home though. Get some rest and come back tomorrow,” She suggested, knowing that her mother was tired and that was she was eager to crawl into bed.

“I’m staying here so I’ll call if anything happens, Andrea!” Adam perked up, kindly smiling at his former mother in law and now the grandmother of his son.

“Honey…” Andrea hesitated.

“We’ll be fine! Leave little Danny here to spend time with mommy and daddy.” Adam insisted and Taylor nodded her head, looking up at her mom.

“Fine!” Andrea sighed, leaning down to kiss her daughter’s forehead. “I love you.”

“I love you too, mom.” They watched as Andrea walked out of the room, waving her goodbye.

Taylor looked at Adam who was staring intently at little Danny, the look on his face was one of pure love. More than she had ever seen, she wondered if that was how she looked at him a while ago, she wondered if he could see the same look of love when she looked down at Daniel.

“It doesn’t feel real, does it?” Taylor murmured, making him glance up at her for a second.

“It doesn’t.” He shook his head. “How are you?”

“Better now. I think it’s starting to sink in. I’m beginning to love him more than I’ve loved anything in my life but it still terrifies me like nothing ever has.” Taylor told him, truthfully. Adam hummed, reaching for her hand to give it a small squeeze as he saw her eyes watering. Taylor gulped, looking down at their hands. She still liked the comfort his touch brought. It felt so familiar, so warm, it felt a little too much like home.

“Our boy is kind of amazing, huh? Showing up unannounced like this thinking he can just become the most important little lad in my life in a second.” He joked, but with sincerity in his words that made Taylor smile even wider. Had this happened a few months ago, she would still be mad at him, he would still be mad at her and they would t be having this moment. Then she thought, what if she had found out about the pregnancy when they were still together? After all, they had broken up because they wanted different things and Taylor wanted Adam to give her a future much like the one she was holding at that moment, had she known she already had it, would they still be together? It was what she wondered about but those thoughts seemed to vanish when she looked at Danny. It wasn’t what she expected and it was going to be hard, but she could take it, she would love this baby with everything in her and she would be there. She just hoped Adam would too.
