More than 1,300 ewes and their lambs are back at work on the Fort Ord National Monument in California, a part of the BLM’s National Conservation Lands.
The BLM manages the sheep grazing program to reduce fire danger, encourage the growth of native plants, and control non-native species. To celebrate spring and the return of the sheep, Fort Ord National Monument and FORT Friends will be hosting Sheep Appreciation Day on Saturday, April 4th.
